Jane Eyre(originally published as Jane Eyre: An Autobiography) is a novel by English writer Charlotte Bronte. It was published on 16 October 1847, by Smith in London, England, under the pen name "Currer Bell." The first American edition was published the following year by Harper and Brothers of New York.
Charlotte Bronte (21 April 1816 – 31 March 1855) was an English novelist and poet, the eldest of the three Brontë sisters who survived into adulthood and whose novels have become classics of English literature. She first published her works, including her best known novel Jane Eyre under the pen name Currer Bell.
Jane Eyre is divided in to two parts. First of all, the first part is Jane’s childhood. She has no parents and was adopted by her aunt Mrs. Reed. But unfortunately, her aunt treats her very badly. She has a preference for her own children. What’s more, Jane’s cousins do not get on well with her. They always pick on Jane. And when
she was 9 years old, her aunt sent her to Lowood orphanage. The only luck to her is that she has a good friend in the orphanage. It makes the orphanage not very harsh to survive. When Jane was grown up, the second part of this book comes up. She gets a chance to work in Thornfield estate. Her job is to be a home tutor for a 9 years old girl Adela valentine. She loves Jane and very glad to learn playing the piano from Jane. Mr. Rochester is the father of Valentine and the host of Thornfield estate. He has a terrible experience on his family, especially his wife. The first time Jane meats Mr. Rochester was in a wood very magically with a scared horse. The magic love starts at that moment. And then she impresses him with her brilliant painting. Jane once saves him out of fire, which is fired by him mad wife. Day by day, Mr. Rochester falls in love with her badly.
