1. Analysis of the Students

The students of Grade 9 have mastered certain vocabularies，expressions and structures. They also have the abilities of self-teaching and working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English.

2. Analysis of Teaching Content

Lesson 55 is the first lesson in Unit 10, Book 5.This unit focus on the subject Get Ready for the Future, Students cares about the subject because it is close to everyone. Lesson 55 mainly talks about the dreams what do they want to be, and to learn how to choose a job and what to do to make their dreams come true.

1. To master the words: boss, doubt, wealth, manage, astronaut.

2. To master the phrases: as for, look into, grow up, come true, make plans for, fly an airplane, manage a company, play basketball, be good at…=do well in…, make a lot of money.

【能力目标】

Improve the students’ ability of speaking, listening, reading and writing. To be able to talk about the future jobs and the future life in English.

【情感目标】

know more about some other jobs, to learn how to choose a job and what to do to make their dreams come true.

To master the words and phrases.

look into此处是“观察”。还有“朝里看；调查；浏览（书籍、资料等）” 的意思。

e.g. I noticed Tom looking into a shop window.

grow up长成；成熟；发展

e.g. The little girl has grown up to be a beautiful woman.

那个小女孩已经长成了美丽的女人。

China’s agriculture is growing up quickly.

中国的农业正在快速发展。

could, would都是表推测的情态动词。其所指时间几乎总是“现在”，说话人的主观看法总是以现在时间为基点的。
