After graduating from high school, many young people have the option to directly enter the work force. For many high school students, being able to immediately generate an income after graduation is an appealing thought. However,Most students who have the opportunity, decide to go to college before finding jobs. They attend college to obtain more choices, higher salaries, and more opportunities for advancement in an increasingly competitive job market. It is no dout that college is a time and place where your son’s or daughter’s horizon of thinking is greatly broadened and knowledge is further absorbed. No longer are they constrained to the same thoughts, styles, and lifestyles that have remained basically ubiquitous throughout their twelve years in grade school. Therefore, after obtaining a specific college degree a job applicant can be competitive for previously available jobs. For instance, people with Computer Science degrees would not only be qualified for jobs in high-tech companies, they would also be well prepared for any job with computer skills as a prerequisite. With a larger of potential jobs to choose from, degree holders are more likely to find a job that suits their particular needs and interests. Thus, college can prepare students academically, and their horizon.Additionally,College is definitely a great experience for the growing young man or woman. It allows the person to come to an understanding of himself, realize what he needs to improve such as money management, and how to interact with other people. As the job market gets saturated with graduates, more and more open positions are asking for degrees.A recent study between high student graduates and college graduates revealed that 80% of the college graduates can deal with the relationship with their colleagues than the high school graduates. Moreover, they can do a better job of arranging their money. In short,College can improve a person’s skills including communication skills, adaptability, and other skills by providing a great experience. In conclusion, it seems clear that college is an opportunity that no young adult should forgo, as it is an important intermediate period between grade school and the working life. Not only will it prepare students academically, but there will also be great experiences that are going to be priceless in the students’success and wisdom.Parents as well as students themselves therefore should pay attention to understand the importance of attending college instead of Only concerned with the immediate benefits. College will lead you to a life of fulfillment and realized dreams. No one ever regretted going to college, I wish I could say the same for the person who didn’t.。

英语作文Getting to know the world outside the campus
Getting to know the world outside the campusThe life of college is completely different compared in high school, because college is an entrance to the society, a way to get to know the world. It's an approach to touch the outside where we can hardly experience when we were teenagers. It is indispensable to step out the ivory tower. In college, we have more opportunities to understand the social life. For instance, advanced technology allows us to search the lately news through media, from which we keep following the focus. Also, we can do community service, part-time jobs and voluntary work to broaden our views. To know the world and to do some for the world are two vital parts of entering the "adult " world. After graduating from my high school, I've started to do voluntary work in two organizations and part time jobs. The more I've done, the more I got learned. What I'm planning to do next is trying to be a teacher involved in English that not only can I improve my spoken English also I'll get challenged and pushed. No matter what method we choose to get in the society, we can't ignore the importance of stepping into the world.2012管理一班万慧雯120340112。

But according to researchers from the University of California, people who don't get enough sleep are less willing to socialize(杜交) with others. They are simply too tired to go out.The researchers did a small study. They tested 18 young people who had just had a good night's sleep---as well as tested them again after a sleepless night. The participants watched videos of people walking towards them. When the person on the video got too“close”to them, they pushed a button(按钮) to stop the video, which recorded how close they allowed the person to get.The results showed that the participants kept the person at a distance(距离) of 60% further back if they hadn't got enough sleep. They felt that their personal space was being invaded(侵犯). But when the participants got a good night's sleep, they allowed the person to get much closer to them.According to lead researcher Matthew Walker, the less sleep you get, the less you want to socialize with others. In turn, other people may think you are strange and stay away from you. This can make you feel lonely and cause you to sleep even less. It becomes a vicious cycle(恶性循环).So if you want to be a more sociable and popular person, sleeping well might help. “One night of good sleep makes you feel more outgoing and socially confident(自信的),”said Walker.14. Amazing trip
After graduating from senior high school, students have a long holiday, and they will choose different ways to relax themselves away from the stress of the college entrance examination. Travelling with parents or friends is always a good choice. During my holiday, I had a fantastic journey with three of my friends to Changbai Mountain. I will never forget it because of my first time travelling by “high-speed railway”, a new kind of train, the beautiful views of the mountain and the delicious local food.
We went there by “hi gh-speed railway”, a new kind of train, and it was my first time to try it. I felt really good. It was early in morning, we met at the north station of Dalian. After getting on the train, we found our seats and set our packages. When I looked around excitedly, I found a button in the right side of my chair. I asked what it was for, and the answer was it could help to turn the chair to different directions. We were shocked and tried it as soon as the train was safely going. We four turned our chair to get together so that we could talk and play interesting an UNO card easily. It took us about four hours to get Changchun. It was much faster than the normal train, and it was so comfortable that we even could not feel it was running!
The next morning, we got up really early, at about five o`clock. We got on a bus, and rode about one hour. After getting off, we saw a really beautiful view. The high mountain was covered with beautiful green trees. The local guide told us because of the special weather in Changbai Mountain, the forest on the mountain consists of different kinds of trees, and they are on the different heights of the mountain. We rode up to the top of the mountain——Tianchi lake. Before getting there, we were told that it was really cold on the top, and the fog was always covered the lake, so we probably could not see it clearly. However, when we got there, we found it was a clear sky. We were so lucky that we saw the amazing lake. It was blue and peaceful, really like a piece of mirror. We took many photos and went down the mountain before the weather went bad.
On the last day, we went to traditional local restaurant for dinner. We ordered a local famous fish dish. The fish was fresh, and it was cooked in two different ways. One was with sour cabbage, the other was with pepper. They were both delicious, and we ate so much that we could not eat anything more. We asked about the secret of the delicious food, and they told us the fish must be fresh, and they use special things from the old members in the family to cook.
After the three-day travel, we went back to Dalian. I will never forget this journey with my friends. The feeling of first travelling by “high-speed railway”, the beautiful view and the delicious food are now still in my head. I hope I can travel with
these friends someday in the future.
