Summary of Project
Insurance covers all damages or loss of the goods in ocean transportation, land transportation, and air transportation and provides considerable benefit and financial advantages. In international business, the ocean transportation is the most significant and the most common way. The parties of insurance include insurer/underwriter, insured/insurant, insurance agent/broker, and claimant. Generally, there are three types of basic risks: Free from(of) Particular Average(short as FPA or F.P.A), With Particular Average(Short as WPA or W.P.A or WA), and All Risks. The coverage of FPA are as following: 1) Total loss 2) Particular Average (P/A) caused by stranding, sinking, or burning 3) P/A attributed to fire, explosion, collision or contact of the vessel and/or conveyance with any external substance other than water 4) Any package which totally lost in loading, transshipment or discharge 5) P/A attributed to discharge of cargo at a port of distress 6) Special charge for landing, warehousing and forwarding at an intermediate port of call or refuge 7) General Average (G/A) sacrifice and G/A expenditure The coverage of WPA includes the coverage of FPA and damage to cargo by heavy weather.
