Negotiation is a process of communication and compromise in which two or more parties with different interests come together to reach a mutually beneficial agreement. The negotiation process typically involves several key steps, starting with preparation and planning where each party assesses their own goals and objectives, as well as those of the other party. This is followed by the opening phase where both parties present their initial positions and outline their desires and expectations. Next comes the bargaining phase where concessions are made and offers are exchanged in order to move towards a middle ground. Finally, the parties reach a resolution through creating options, evaluating alternatives, and ultimately coming to a consensus.
