摘要:PURPOSE:To improve output and fuel consumption and to search an optimal air-fuel ratio efficiently by varying the air-fuel ratio in step when an engiion and searching an optimal ignition timing for every stepped variation of airfuel ratio. CONSTITUTION:Means A for controlling air-fuel ratio of mixture gas and means B for searching an optimal ignition timing where the engine torque is highest for a predetermined air-fuel ratio are provided. Furthermore, means C for detecting the temperature of exhaust gas and means D for detecting engine torque to be produced with optimal ignition timing are provided. Means E for controlling the means A in step to search the maximum air-fuel ratio when the engine is under heavy load, the temperature of exhaust gas is lower than a predetermined level and the engine torque is within a predetermined range including values near the maximum value is provided. Furthermore, means F for causing the means B to search the optimal ignition timing when the means A is controlled in step is provided.
