七下英语学练优电子版安徽版第二单元作文

七下英语学练优电子版安徽版第二单元作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Favorite Unit in English ClassHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm in 7th grade. English is one of my favorite classes because I love learning about other cultures and how to communicate with people from around the world. This year, our English textbook is called "English Practice and Exercise Electronic Version" and it's really cool because it has animations, games, and videos to help us learn.Unit 2 has been my absolute favorite unit so far! The title of the unit is "After School" and it's all about the different activities kids like me can do after school. At the beginning of the unit, there was a really interesting reading passage about a boy named Mike and how he spends his afternoons.Mike is kind of like me because he stays after school for an hour to get help from his math teacher. I do the same thing on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I can get extra practice with algebra. Math is my weakest subject, so I'm really grateful my teacher offers after-school help sessions. After Mike's study session, he heads to the community center near his house. The community center has all sorts of cool activities like sports, art classes, computer coding, and even a robotics club! Mike plays basketball at the community center a couple times a week.I don't have a community center that close to my house, but I do have a few after-school activities of my own. On Mondays, I go to kung fu practice at my grandmaster's studio downtown. Kung fu is a ancient Chinese martial art that helps me stay active and focused. My grandmaster always says "Mind like water" which means I need to be fluid and flexible in my thinking. On Wednesdays after school, I have Chinese calligraphy class. Using the brush and ink is so relaxing and centering. My calligraphy teacher is very strict about our technique though! She makes sure our grips are correct and our strokes are steady. Good calligraphy requires a lot of patience and practice.Friday afternoons are my favorite because that's when I get together with my friends for our Dungeons & Dragons club! We've been playing the same campaign for over a year now. I'm a level 10 druid elf who can shapeshift into different animals and summon nature's forces. It's so much fun telling a story togetherand going on imaginative quests and battles. My friends and I always get really into character.Of course, weekends are the best because I have even more free time for activities and hobbies. Saturdays I practice martial arts choreography with my friends. We put together these amazing routines inspired by kung fu movies with props like staffs and swords (don't worry, they're just plastic!). We've even performed a few of our choreographed fights at community festivals.Sunday is my total free day to just relax, read books, or whatever I feel like doing. Sometimes I'll meet up with friends at the park and we'll kick a shuttlecock around, which is kind of like playing badminton without rackets. Other times I just stay home, make crafts, and watch movies or shows. That's a typical week in my after-school life! Unit 2 in our English book was really relevant because it got me thinking about all the different activities I'm involved in. My favorites are definitely kung fu, D&D, and spending time with my friends doing choreographed fight routines.I'm really looking forward to the rest of the units in this English book. The multimedia features make the lessons so engaging and interesting. I've already learned lots of greatvocabulary and expressions related to after-school activities. Getting practice with all four language skills - reading, writing, listening, and speaking - has been super helpful too.Well, that's all I have to say about the amazing Unit 2! Make sure you check it out when you get to that part of the book. Until next time, mind like water, my friends!篇2Title: My Awesome Summer VacationHey there! My name is Li Ming and I'm going to tell you all about my totally awesome summer vacation. It was the best summer ever! I had so much fun and did a bunch of really cool activities.First off, my family and I went on a trip to Hainan Island. Hainan is this really pretty island in the very south of China. It's got beautiful beaches, palm trees, and the water is so clear and blue. We stayed at this amazing resort right on the beach. Every morning I would wake up and go splash around in the ocean. The waves were perfect for bodyboarding and surfing (which I'm awesome at by the way)!During the day, we would hang out by the huge pool at our hotel. I spent hours going down the big waterslides and playing pool games with my little brother Didi. He's only 6 but he's a really good swimmer already. One time he accidentally kicked me in the face when we were playing marco polo though, haha! I had a nice shiner for like a week after that.In the evenings, we would go out and explore the night markets near our hotel. There were so many yummy street foods to try! My favorites were the fresh grilled squid on a stick, mango smoothies, and coconut milk straight from the coconut. We bought a bunch of souvenirs and little trinkets at the markets too.I got this really cool shark tooth necklace that I wore every day.On our last few days in Hainan, we went on a snorkeling tour to explore the coral reefs just offshore. I had never been snorkeling before so I was a little nervous at first. But it ended up being so amazing! We saw tons of bright, tropical fish, sea turtles, and even a small shark! The water was perfectly clear and you could see everything underneath. I felt like I was swimming in a giant aquarium. Snorkeling is my new favorite activity! After we got back from Hainan, I went to summer camp for two weeks at a camp up in the mountains. Summer camp was an absolute blast! There were kids there from all over China and wemade so many new friends. We did all kinds of fun outdoor activities like hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, archery, and camping out under the stars. My favorite activity was probably the giant ropes course they had set up high up in the trees. You had to walk across tightropes, climb up nets, and zipline from platform to platform while harnessed in. It was a little scary at first being so high up, but after the first few obstacles I got used to it. By the end I was ziplining upside down and walking across the tightropes no problem! The ropes course really helped me conquer my fear of heights. We also did performances and talent shows every week at camp. I was in a few skits with my bunkmates where we dressed up like superheroes and acted out funny stories we made up. I'm a pretty good actor if I do say so myself! On the last night we had a massive bonfire and did s'mores around the campfire while singing classic campfire songs. I've never felt so sad having to leave a place before.Once I got back from camp, I spent the last few weeks of summer just hanging out around my neighborhood with my buddies. We would ride our bikes over to the outdoor basketball courts and play pickup games of basketball and football frommorning until night. I got really tan and buffer from being outside so much! A few times we organized huge water balloon fights with kids from all around the neighborhood. I definitely got soaked more than a few times but it was worth it to nail someone with a water balloon sneak attack! We also had terrific thunderstorms roll through a couple times. The lightning was crazy bright and the thunder would shake the whole house. Once the storm passed, we would go explore the neighborhood and look for cool things that got blown around like branches and leaves. One time we even found a big kite stuck up in a tree! Those storms were definitely wild but so much fun.On the last day before school started back up, my whole family went to visit my grandparents out in the countryside. We helped them out with chores on their little farm like feeding the chickens and ducks, and harvesting vegetables from their garden. In the evening we had an amazing home-cooked meal of fresh produce and my grandma's famous dumplings. No restaurant can ever compare! After our big family dinner, my cousins and I went out and caught fireflies in a jar to use as a lantern as the sun went down. There were fireflies everywhere you looked, blinking on and offin the twilight. We sat outside looking up at the bright stars while my grandpa told us epic stories of his childhood growing up in that same village. It was the perfect end to my summer vacation.Well, that's pretty much everything I got up to this summer! Between the beach trip, summer camp, and adventures around home, it was definitely the funnest summer I've ever had. I got to experience so many new things and make tons of new friends and awesome memories. I actually felt a little sad when it was time to go back to school. But I'm already counting down the days until next summer so I can go on all new exciting adventures! Hopefully yours was as great as mine. Thanks for reading all about my awesome summer!篇3My Summer Holiday AdventureYay, summer holidays were finally here! No more waking up super early and going to school. I could sleep in as late as I wanted. The first few days I just lazed around the house in my pajamas, watching cartoons and playing video games. But after a while, I started to get bored."Mom, I'm sooo bored!" I whined one morning. "There's nothing fun to do!""Why don't you go outside and play?" she suggested. "Get some fresh air and exercise. The sunshine is good for you."I made a face. "But all my friends are away on vacation or at summer camp. It's no fun playing alone."Mom thought for a moment. "Well, what about that English book your teacher assigned for summer reading? You could work on that."I groaned. Reading an English book for homework over summer holidays? No way! "That's too hard and boring," I complained. "Can't I just play video games instead?""Games will just rot your brain," Mom said sternly. "But I have an idea that combines English practice with an adventure. How about we go on a little trip, and you can be my English tour guide?"That peaked my interest. "A trip? Like a vacation? Where are we going?""It's a surprise destination," Mom replied with a smile. "But you'll need to navigate us there using only English."I wasn't sure if I was up for the challenge, but the idea of a surprise vacation was exciting. "Okay, I'll do it!" I agreed. "When are we leaving?""This weekend, so you better start brushing up on your English skills," Mom said. "Look up destinations, get directions, read about attractions and activities. You're in charge of all the English on this trip."Well, that kick-started me into studying mode. I pulled out my English textbooks and phrasebooks. I practiced common travel phrases and conversations. I watched English videos about top vacation spots in our country. After a few days of prepping, I started to feel more confident. Maybe this English tour guide thing wouldn't be so bad after all.The big day finally arrived. Bright and early Saturday morning, Mom loaded up our car with snacks and supplies for a road trip adventure."Okay, English tour guide, where are we headed?" she asked with a grin.I opened the Road Trip app on her phone and input the destination I had chosen - an ancient water town about five hours away. I listed off the driving directions in English. "Head northeast on Plum Road for two miles, then merge onto..."Off we went, following my English turn-by-turn navigation. Whenever we stopped for gas or snacks, I successfully orderedand asked for things in English. Mom seemed impressed with my skills so far. Finally, we arrived at the picturesque water town entrance. Rustic buildings lined narrow canals, small boats drifted along, and archaic bridges arched over the water. It really did look like a place trapped in time."This is so cool!" I exclaimed, switching to my mother tongue momentarily in excitement. I cleared my throat and continued in English. "Welcome to Zhouzhuang, one of the most famous water towns in China. First established over 900 years ago..."I gave Mom the full historical rundown as we wandered along the stone-paved paths. I pointed out all the main sights like the intricate memorial arches, ancient opera stage, and maze of quaint alleys. We snapped tons of pictures together, and I labelled each one in English. When we stopped for lunch, I confidently ordered from the menu in English and taught Mom some new food vocabulary words in the process. In the afternoon, I arranged for us to take a riverside boat tour around the little Venice-like town."This English tour has been wonderful so far," Mom said as we floated down the canals. "Your skills have really improved, and you've taught me so much about this historical place."I beamed with pride. Yeah, this definitely beat sitting around the house all summer! I was getting to explore an amazing, centuries-old town while leveling up my English abilities. On the drive back home, I was exhausted from my tour guide duties but still riding high on my accomplishments. "Hey Mom, where should we go on our next English exploration?"She laughed. "Let's just get through this one first, Mr. Tour Guide. But I'm certainly open to more adventures if you keep studying that hard.""You got it!" I responded enthusiastically. This was shaping up to be the best summer ever - an exciting trip mixing travel, history, culture and leveling up my English. I couldn't wait to start planning our next language learning escapade!篇4Unit 2 - A Dragon's Family AlbumHi there! My name is Li Ming and I'm a 7th grader at Hefei No. 8 Middle School. In our English class, we just started a reallycool new unit all about dragons! I know dragons aren't real, but they are such awesome and powerful creatures in Chinese mythology. This unit is called "A Dragon's Family Album" and it teaches us about different types of dragons and their families through some really neat stories and folk tales. The first lesson was an ancient story called "The Dragon King's Daughter." It's about this young dragon princess who doesn't listen to her dad, the mighty Dragon King. She swims away from their underwater palace against his wishes and gets captured by a poor herbalist. The herbalist is really kind to her though and they become friends. In the end, the Dragon King lets his daughter choose whether to stay with the herbalist or return home. Isn't that a nice father? I like stories with happy endings like that.My favorite part of the unit so far was the folk tale "Celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival." It describes the exciting dragon boat races that happen every year to commemorate an ancient Chinese poet and minister named Qu Yuan. The boats are brightly painted to look just like dragons, with dragon head carvings on the front! The rowers have to paddle in sync, almost like they're dragon dancers on the water. I would love to see areal dragon boat race someday. Maybe my parents will take me to one for the festival this summer. We also read a funny poem called "A Dragon Child's Ditty" that was written from the perspective of a baby dragon. It talks about how the little dragon loves to stomp around making a ruckus, breathe fire on things, and fly loop-de-loops through the air. Just being a mischievous kid like the rest of us! The poem has such a playful, rhyming rhythm to it that makes me want to chant along. Our teacher even taught us a little dragon dance to go with the words. We looked pretty silly flapping our arms and stomping in a circle, but it was hilarious. In another lesson, we learned about the different ranks of dragons in Chinese folklore. There are celestial dragons that guard over heaven and the palaces of the gods. Earth dragons are the scaly behemoths that control the rivers, seas, and rainfall. Then there are spiritual dragons that can take human form and interact with people. The most powerful of all is the Dragon King who rules over every dragon, kind of like an emperor. I think it would be so cool to be a dragon! Maybe I could be the Dragon Prince or something. We've done lots of fun dragon-themed activities and games too. We made These dragon hand puppets out of colored paperbags. Then we put on a silly puppet show about a dragon family going on vacation. We also did dragon riddles and rebuses, which are those word puzzle games with pictures and symbols mixed in. One rebus was "What kind of dragon loves to sing?" The answer was "A drag-on-notes dragon!" Get it? We all cracked up at the corny puns. For our big unit project, we have to make a "Dragon's Family Album" of our own. It can be a book, poster, diorama, or anything we want as long as it's creative! Mine is going to be a pop-up book with different dragon relatives on each page. I'm making the Dragon Grandpa look wise and wrinkly with long whiskers. Grandma Dragon will have a loving smile and be telling stories to her little grand-hatchlings on the next page. I'm really excited to work on it and make it look awesome.Learning about dragons is just so much fun because they're iconic in Chinese culture. They symbolize power, strength, and good luck. A lot of the stories teach virtues like obedience, courage, and filial piety too. But most of all, they let my imagination run wild with images of fantastical beasts breathing fire and soaring through the clouds. This is definitely one of my favorite units in English so far. I already know I'll ace that dragon unit test at the end!篇5Unit 2 - Our Beautiful EnvironmentHi friends! I'm so excited to tell you all about Unit 2 in our new English textbook. It's all about the environment and how important it is for us to protect nature. There are so many cool things I learned!First up, we have a really neat reading passage called "A Green Economy". It's about this idea of an economy that is good for the environment instead of hurting it. The passage talks about renewable energy like solar and wind power, and how those are way better than burning coal and oil which makes a ton of pollution. It makes me want to be an engineer when I grow up so I can design cool solar panels and wind turbines! Then there are some really pretty pictures of animals and plants that are in danger because of pollution and habitat loss. Like this adorable panda bear - did you know they could go extinct if the forests in China keep getting cut down? That would be so sad. We need to protect their homes! My favorite part was the dialogue about attending an eco summer camp. The kids were learning all about recycling, composting, and saving energy. They even got to go canoeingand bird watching! I asked my mom if I can go to a camp like that over the summer and she said maybe. Keeping my fingers crossed!Of course, the unit also has grammar lessons and vocab words to help us describe the environment. Like the words "polluted", "contaminated", and "sustainable". Those are all really important words to know for taking care of our planet. For the writing section, we had to write a letter to our school principal about ways to make our school more eco-friendly. I suggested having recycling bins in every classroom, starting a gardening club, and doing a lights-off campaign during Earth Hour. What do you think? Any other bright ideas?Overall, I give this unit two huge thumbs up! It taught me so much about respecting nature and being a good steward of the earth. From the animal pictures to the eco camp dialogue, everything made me excited to do my part.I really hope schools and companies start paying more attention to being environmentally sustainable. We only have one planet and we've gotta take care of it! This unit showed me just how fragile our ecosystems are and how human activities can really mess things up if we're not careful.Luckily, there's still time to make positive changes if we all work together. Whether that's using less plastic, saving water and electricity, or just spending time outdoors appreciating the beauty of nature - every little bit helps! Let's all be environmental superheroes and protect our big blue marble. What was your favorite part of Unit 2? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Learning about the environment is so important for kids our age. We're the future stewards of this amazing planet after all. Let's make our parents and teachers proud by doing everything we can to go green!篇6My Summer VacationThe last few weeks of school before summer vacation were sooo boring. All we did was review stuff we had already learned. I couldn't wait for summer to start! Finally, the last day of school arrived. When the final bell rang, I raced out of the classroom cheering "School's out for summer!"My summer was going to be awesome. My parents had promised to take me and my little sister on a big trip. We were going to go to Beijing to see all the amazing sights like theForbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and of course, the Great Wall of China! I was super excited. The first couple weeks of vacation, we just hung out at home. My parents had to work, so I spent most days playing video games, watching TV and reading comics. I also got to sleep in every morning which was the best. Then finally, it was time for our big Beijing trip! We took the high-speed train from Anhui. The train was so fast, it felt like we got there in no time. As soon as we arrived in Beijing, we headed straight for Tiananmen Square. It's a massive open space in the center of Beijing. Thousands of people were milling around taking pictures and touring. At one end of the square are two huge buildings - the Great Hall of the People on the west side, and the National Museum on the east side. They're both incredible looking buildings. We went inside the National Museum which had amazing exhibits on Chinese history and culture. My favorite was the ancient artifacts from thousands of years ago. After Tiananmen Square, we visited the Forbidden City, which was the imperial palace of China for almost 500 years. It's absolutely enormous, with nearly 10,000 rooms! We spent an entire day wandering around the various temples, gardens, andpalace buildings. Everything was decorated with bright colors, intricate designs, and dragon symbols. It felt like being transported back in time to ancient China. But of course, the number one thing I was looking forward to in Beijing was the Great Wall of China. We took a bus out to a less crowded section called Mutianyu. As our bus climbed up the mountain roads, the first glimpse of the Great Wall snaking across the peaks was incredible! When we got off the bus, we could see it zigzagging endlessly over the mountains into the distance.Climbing up onto the Great Wall itself was tough. The stairs were really steep! But the views from up there were breathtaking. The Wall winds its way up and down the ridges like a giant stone dragon. I felt so small compared to this massive structure that stretches over 13,000 miles across China. It was mind-blowing that it was built so long ago without modern tools and machines. No wonder it's one of the man-made Wonders of the World! After a few days of sightseeing in Beijing, we headed back home to Anhui. I had so many amazing memories and experiences from the trip. Seeing world-famous landmarks with my own eyes instead of just pictures in books made them feel so much more real.Summer vacation wasn't over yet, but that trip was definitely the highlight. The rest of the time, I just hung around at home, played basketball with friends, went swimming at the pool, had sleepovers, and did all the usual summer stuff kids do. Before I knew it, summer was coming to an end.I'll never forget my incredible summer adventure to Beijing. Getting to experience China's ancient history and iconic sites with my family was an experience I'll cherish forever. I have so many funny stories and inside jokes from our trip that I'll laugh about with my parents and sister for years to come. I made a thousand great memories that summer which I'll never forget.Going into 7th grade, I feel like I have a deeper appreciation for China's rich history and culture after seeing it firsthand. I'm definitely going to pay more attention in my history and social studies classes this year. And who knows, maybe I'll take a course on ancient Chinese civilization when I get to high school. This trip has inspired me to keep exploring and learning about the world around me. I can't wait for my next big adventure!。

英语学练优七年级下册第二单元范文全文共10篇示例,供读者参考篇1Hey guys, today I want to share with you what I have learned in Unit 2 of our seventh grade English textbook. This unit is all about practicing and improving our English skills, so let's dive in!First of all, we learned about different ways to describe people's appearances. We can use adjectives like tall, short, slim, and chubby to talk about how someone looks. For example, I can say "My friend Sarah is tall and has long, brown hair." It's important to be able to describe people accurately when we are speaking or writing in English.Next, we talked about our daily routines and the present simple tense. We learned how to talk about things we do every day, like "I wake up at 7 o'clock, brush my teeth, and eat breakfast." Remember, we use the present simple tense to talk about habits, routines, and general truths. We also practiced using the past simple tense to talk about things that happened in the past. We can use regular verbs like "walked" or "played" to describe actions that are finished. Forexample, "Yesterday, I walked to the park with my friends and played soccer."In addition, we learned about using adverbs of frequency to talk about how often we do things. Words like "always," "usually," and "sometimes" help us to give more information about our routines and habits. For instance, "I always do my homework in the evening" or "I sometimes go shopping on weekends."Finally, we practiced asking questions in English using question words like "what," "where," and "how." By using these words, we can gather more information and have conversations with others. For example, "What time do you go to bed?" or "Where did you go on vacation?"Overall, Unit 2 has been a lot of fun and has helped us to improve our English skills. I can't wait to continue practicing and learning more in the next unit. Keep up the good work, everyone! Let's keep working hard and improving our English together.篇2Hello everyone! 优翼学练优七年级下册第一单元英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Summer Vacation AdventuresSummer vacation is the best time of year! No more classes, homework or having to wake up super early. Just lots of free time to relax, have fun and go on adventures. This past summer was extra special because my family took an amazing trip to China. We visited so many cool places and had the craziest experiences. Let me tell you all about it!It all started when my dad's friend from work invited us to visit his family in Beijing for a few weeks. At first I wasn't too excited about going. I mean, Beijing is just a huge city with tons of people and smog, right? But my parents promised we'd also travel around to see other parts of China. And anything beats staying home all summer, to be honest. The flight from America to Beijing took forever! We had to take two different planes and were traveling for almost an entire day. I tried to sleep as much as possible, but I was too anxious about the trip. When we finally landed, the humidity and crowdsat the airport hit me like a wall. This place was going to be a real culture shock compared to my quiet little hometown. The first few days, we just hung out with my dad's friend and his family in Beijing. They live in a tiny apartment downtown, which seemed crazy to me since there were six of them! Their place was basically just one main room with no separate bedrooms. At home, I'm used to having my own bedroom and bathroom. Despite the cramped space, they were extremely hospitable and welcoming to us. The food they made was delicious - lots of dumplings, noodles and vegetables I'd never tried before. One evening, we all went on a walking tour of some Beijing attractions like Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the hutongs (those crazy maze-like neighborhoods). It wasmind-blowing to see things in person that I'd only read about in books. The Forbidden City, which was the royal palace for centuries, was easily one of the most magnificent places I've ever been. So much history and beautiful architecture! But I have to admit, the most exhilarating part of being in Beijing was the transportation. The roads were total madness with cars, bikes and people going every which way. My dad's friend said you can cross the street literally whenever you want,as long as you keep moving and don't make any sudden stops or turns. One time, I was browsing my phone while walking and suddenly realized I'd wandered right into the middle of an intersection with cars whipping all around me. Safe to say I never did that again! After a week in Beijing, we embarked on a train journey to Xi'an to see the Terracotta Warriors. This was easily the highlight of the whole trip for me. In school, we'd learned about the thousands of life-size soldier statues that were buried underground for over 2,000 years until farmers accidentally discovered them in the 1970s. But nothing could have prepared me for how lifelike and gigantic these things actually were up close. There were warriors on foot and on horseback, each with a unique facial expression carved from clay. The level of detail and scale was just unbelievable. What made it even cooler was the extensive self-guided audio tour we took that went really in-depth on the history, archaeology and modern excavation work still happening at the site today. I'm usually not a huge museum person, but this place had me geeking out big time. I must have taken a million pictures to show my friends back home. From Xi'an, we took another train ride down to the city of Chengdu. On the way, we passed through some smaller rural towns where you could see farmers out working in the rice fields. Everything was so lush and green compared to the big cities we'd been in. Chengdu was much more laid-back than Beijing, which I really enjoyed. The highlight was definitely the giant panda research and breeding center located right in the city.As you can probably guess, I went a little panda-crazy during this part of the trip. How could you not when you're surrounded by those fluffy, dopey-faced teddy bears? Even though they mostly just lazed around eating bamboo all day, watching them play and wrestle was the most adorable thing ever. We even got to hold and feed some of the baby pandas, which was a total dream come true for my inner kindergartener self. Hands down the cutest animals on the planet! The last leg of our journey took us out to the rural countryside near Chengdu. This part almost didn't happen because my mom was hesitant about "slumming it" outside the cities. But I'm so glad we went because it ended up being the most fun and memorable few days. We stayed at a simple guesthouse run by a friendly family who cooked all our meals for us.Each morning, the dad would take me and my little brother on adventures around the nearby farming villages. We rode rickety old bikes down dirt roads, played games with the local kids (who thankfully knew a little English) and learned how to do things like make sticky rice snacks and paint calligraphy. The traditional houses were so cool, made from wood and clay with tiled roofs. Nothing like the glass skyscrapers back in Beijing. My favorite part was when we hiked up to this small Buddhist monastery nestled high in the mountains. The scenery was straight out of a fairytale with wild bamboo groves, little creeks and flowering trees everywhere you looked. The monks let us join them for an evening meditation and vegetarian dinner, which was such a peaceful, spiritual experience. I'd always thought meditation was just people sitting cross-legged and saying "ommm." But it was actually really powerful to clear my mind of all distractions and just be present. On our final night, we had a big celebratory dinner with the guesthouse family. They'd prepared a feast of about 20 different homemade dishes for us - tofu, dumplings, noodles, vegetables, the works. We stuffed ourselves silly and exchanged small gifts. Even though we couldn't communicate much due to the language barrier, we'd formed such a warm connection overthose few days together. I realized how kind, generous and resilient these village people were despite having so little material wealth. It made me grateful for everything I have back home and appreciate the simple joys in life. The next morning, we caught a flight from Chengdu back to Beijing and then back home to America. That 14-hour travel day was brutal, but it gave me plenty of time to reflect on the whirlwind of experiences we'd just had. From modern megacities with ancient wonders to the rural countryside where time seemed to stand still, China was so much more diverse and beautiful than I ever expected. Not only did I get to experience incredible history, food and hospitality, but I feel like I grew a lot as a person too. Traveling abroad for the first time taught me to get out of my comfort zone, open my eyes to new cultures and be appreciative of life's simple pleasures. I'll always treasure the amazing memories of traipsing around China last summer. This was one epic adventure that I'll never forget!篇2My Excellent Adventure with Unit 1Hey there! I'm a 7th grader and I've got to tell you all about the first unit we covered this semester in our Youing Excellent English textbook. It was an excellent adventure, let me tell you!The unit was called "A Wider World" and it really opened my eyes to different cultures and places around the globe. The readings and dialogues were super fascinating. We learned about cool holidays like the Dragon Boat Festival in China and Inti Raymi in Peru. The Dragon Boat Festival celebrates an ancient poet and people race dragon boats and eat sticky rice dumplings. How awesome is that? For Inti Raymi, people in Peru celebrate the Sun God with colorful clothes, dances, and ceremonies. I'd love to see that festival one day. There were also really interesting texts about landmarks and world heritage sites. We read about the Ancient City of Petra in Jordan, which is this amazing rose-colored city carved right into the rock! Can you imagine? The buildings and architecture are incredible. We also learned about the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Those massive pyramids were built as tombs for pharaohs thousands of years ago. Just thinking about how they were constructed back then totally blows my mind. Some of the other landmarks we covered were the Great Wall of China (another world wonder!), the Statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, and the Moai Statues on Easter Island. The Great Wall is so long - it's over 13,000 miles! And those huge stone Moai heads on Easter Island are pretty bizarre when you think about how and why they were built. This unit really opened my eyes to the incredible cultures and accomplishments of civilizations around the world both ancient and modern.Of course, as an English textbook, there was a big focus on language learning too. We practiced tons of new vocabulary words related to cultures, traditions, landmarks, and travel. Words like "heritage," "archaeological," "ceremonial," and "festivities" were newbies for me. The readings helped me see the words in context, which really cemented their meanings in my brain. We also worked on our listening skills by watching videos and hearing recorded conversations about different cultural events and practices. Listening is hard because everything goes by so fast! But practicing it with these interesting topics about global cultures made it way more engaging than just boring old listening exercises. My favorite part of the unit, though, was the various speaking and writing activities we did. We had to do roleplays and simulated conversations with classmates. Like, I enacted making travel plans to visit Petra with a fake travel agent. Or I imagined interviewing someone who attended Inti Raymi and asked them about the festivities. It was fun putting myself in those different scenarios and contexts. For writing, we learned how to write travel postcards and blog entries about experiencing different cultural celebrations and landmarks. I crafted a postcard home describing my hypothetical visit to the Taj Mahal in India. I tried to use lots of vivid descriptive language to paint the picture in words. For my blog entry, I wrote about attending a fictional festival in Mexico for the Day of the Dead. We had to include details about traditional foods, activities, and customs to make it seem real. Pretty cool creative writing prompts if you ask me!But we didn't just learn about other cultures - we also had to study and share aspects of our own local culture and traditions. I gave a presentation on the customs and significance of the Spring Festival that my family celebrates each year. Even though I've celebrated it my whole life, researching the history and rootsof the festival's traditions helped me appreciate it on a deeper level.Overall, this unit was a feast for the mind and a buffet of fascinating cultural experiences! I feel like I traveled the world just by opening up my English textbook. Learning about global cultures, traditions, and landmarks made the language learning seem way more purposeful and meaningful too. I'm really grateful my English textbook could take me on such an excellent adventure around the wider world. Staying cooped up in one classroom would have been a bore, but this unit expanded my horizons in the coolest way. Bring on the next unit - I'm ready for another trip!篇3My Favorite Subject: EnglishEnglish is definitely my favorite subject in school! I just love learning new words and phrases, reading stories from around the world, and practicing conversations. English class is always so fun and interesting. In the first unit of our new English textbook 'Go Ahead' for 7th grade, the theme is "A New Beginning." This unit is all about setting goals, making plans, and trying new things. I think that'ssuch an inspirational topic, especially at the start of a new semester. The unit starts off with a funny comic strip called "Resolutions." It's about a boy named Biff who makes a New Year's resolution to exercise more, but then he gets distracted by video games and eating snacks on the couch! I can totally relate to getting sidetracked like that. The comic teaches some great vocabulary like "resolution," "determined," and "couch potato." After reading it, we practiced using the new words in conversations.Next up was a really cool article called "High Goals" about two young athletes - a runner named Toya and a swimmer named Stephen. They both set ambitious goals and worked incredibly hard to achieve them through discipline and perseverance. Toya dreamed of being an Olympic runner, so she trained for hours every day after school. Stephen wanted to break a world record, so he swam lap after lap pushing himself to the limit. Their stories motivated me to think about my own hopes and dreams for the future. For the reading exercises, we had to summarize the key details, make inferences about the characters' mindsets, and discuss the deeper message. My teacher also taught us somegreat new idioms like "go the extra mile" and "take the plunge" that appeared in the article. I love learning expressions like those that give more color and life to the language. The unit also had some fun songs and chants to help us practice pronunciation and sentence stress. My favorite was the rap "New Year, New You" about making positive changes. The lyrics were so catchy and motivating! Our class enjoyed rapping along and even made up dance moves to go with it.For the writing section, we had to compose a short paragraph about a personal goal we wanted to achieve this semester. I wrote about how I'm determined to read more books for pleasure outside of class assignments. I tend to get too distracted by video games and YouTube, so I'm going to be better about unplugging and making time for reading every night before bed. Reading is a journey and books can take your imagination to amazing places! We also learned how to write phrases like "I'm going to..." and "I plan to..." for talking about future intentions. Games like sentence scrambles and LINE verb practices helped reinforce using those "going to" constructions correctly.Later in the unit, we read a super interesting profile about a young girl named Savita who started her own nonprofitorganization at age 9. Talk about inspiring! Savita was determined to help underprivileged children in her city have access to books and educational resources. So she collected donated books, set up a little library, and started teaching reading classes on the weekends. My jaw dropped when I learned how she's already made such a huge positive impact on her community at such a young age. It made me want to figure out how I could also start a project to help others. For the unit project, my group had to research and give a presentation about a famous inventor from history. We chose Thomas Edison since he had such a prolific career full of mistakes, failed attempts, and world-changing inventions like the phonograph and the light bulb. We created a poster visualizing Edison's quotation that "genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration." His words remind me that succeeding at something requires hard work, focus, and never giving up even when you fail repeatedly. At the end of the unit, I felt excited to tackle new challenges and adventures this semester. The readings and activities taught me so much inspiring vocabulary, wise quotes, and motivating ideas for setting goals and seizing opportunities. I'm going to put the unit's lessons into practice by making a daily schedule, discovering a new hobby or club, and working harder on subjects I struggle with. Middle school is a fresh start, so I'm going to make the most of it and have an amazing year! Thanks to fun English classes like this one, I'm more confident in my listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities. I'm proud of how much my English skills have grown from starting as a total beginner. Studying this unit has also helped me develop qualities like determination, perseverance, and a growth mindset for tackling challenges. Those lessons will help me not just in English class but in all areas of my life. I can't wait for the adventures awaiting me in the rest of 7th grade!。
