Imperfection is always there
Last night, I watched the TV show Desperate Housewives. There was a little story in this show which impressed me.
That is a school talent show. A little girl called Jenny is playing the violin on the stage. At the meantime, her parents are watching her in the audience. In the beginning, Jenny plays very well. However, she stumbles over the middle part. Her parents look worried about that, but Jenny continues playing without stopping there. When Gabriella, one of the housewives, notices it, her eyes flash with sort of pleasure. After Jenny finishes her performance, her Dad steps on the stage wearing a big smile. He gives Jenny a big hug and a big kiss. At that moment, Gabriella, just sitting behind Jenny’s parents leans her body slightly forward and whispers in Jenny’s ①Dad’s ear,“Poor②Lee, he must be pretty embarrassed.” Jenny’s Dad answered,“Does he look embarrassed? She always stumbles over that part. She really stumbled over it today, but she powered through it and we couldn’t be prouder!” Having heard these words, Gabriella seems to realize something. Truly, the plot I describe above in this TV show really impressed me.
People are always desirable for perfection and always trying their best to avoid imperfection. It seems to me that life is filled with imperfection, some of which is unnecessary for us to get rid of. For example, some girls always complain about their imperfect appearance and figure, but actually in the eyes of other people, they are good-looking and slim. Maybe simply because of constant complaint, they have lost much fun.
In summary, Imperfection is always there. We should allow, admit and face imperfection with an open mind.
