The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is the leading global organization that prepares and publishes international standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies. The functions of the SAC authorized by the State Council are to exercise administrative responsibilities by undertaking unified management, supervision and overall coordination of standardization work in China. The SAC represents China within the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and other international and regional standardization organizations; the SAC is responsible for organizing the activities of the Chinese National Committee for ISO and IEC; the SAC approves and organizes the implementation of international cooperation and the exchange of projects on standardization.----From ISO Website. 国务院委托SAC的职能为： 在中国履行行政责任，进行统一管理、监督和 综合协调中国标准化工作。在ISO、IEC和其他国际化或区域化的标准化组 织，SAC作为中国的代表；SAC负责组织ISO和IEC组织中国国家委员会的 活动；SAC批准和组织国际性合作和交换项目的实施。－－摘自ISO网站。
