Over the next ten years, the figure for two people per household kept almost the same while increased by 5% for three people, making it the biggest share of the pie.Regarding to the proportion of one person and six persons per household, it both declined to 2% and 3% respectively during the ten-year period. On the contrary, although there were only 8% of people who lived in a household with five persons in 1995, the figure soared to 15% in 2005. The similar percent of citizens lived in a household with four persons in the same period. In conclusion, it can be seen that two or three persons per household was the most common no matter in 1995 or 2005.(175 words)part2Task:You have some problems on the local public transportservice, write a letter to the manager of the public transport and explain:How you normally use the public transport service,Describe the problems in using the public transport service What changes you suggest to makeSample answer:Dear Sir or Madam,I am an accountant who take the bus 108 of your company every day to work. I am writing this letter to offer some advice because of some changes I notice recently. My working time is 9 a.m so I used to take the bus at 8 a.m, considering the distance between my house and my company and the bus was always punctual and neat inside, for which I feel very grateful. But recently I found out that the bus come late every now and then and once it was late for about twenty minutes. What is worse, the bus is not as clean as usual and there is trash everywhere inside. So, I want to make some suggestion. First, if the bus could be neat like before, I am sure all the passengers would have a better mood at the beginning of a weekday. More importantly, I believe punctuality is significant for everyone, so I really hope the bus can be on time again.Looking forward to your reply.Yours faithfully,Aurora Wang(178 words)。

In order to deter this tendency, some people advocate that like adults, those young offenders are supposed be imposed on the same punishment. As far as I am concerned, this practice is feasible on the condition that they commit criminal wrongdoings more than once.It is generally believed that many young people go astray due to a lack of proper legal education. Obviously, some of them do not have a clear understanding of the consequence of behaviors when they commit crimes at the first time. Under such a circumstance, enforcing them to attend law courses rather than stiff penalty serves the purpose of educating them the importance of obeying laws and regulations. As a result, it is less likely for them to pose future damage to the society and innocent citizens. In addition, unpaid community services can be an optional method. Juveniles are able to gain the sense of achievement and enough attention through engaging in activities such as fending for the elderly whose children live far away from them; doing laundry and cleaning in nursing home or just accompanying them for one or two hours a day. As the survey indicated that the motive of repeated juvenile delinquency is mainly to prove self-value, this softer punishment enables them to become productive social members and make contributions to the community development. On the other hand, that is not to say that those underage criminals who can never learn the lesson and keep crossing the bottom line of the legal system would get rid of a serve sentence. The fairness of justice system will be doubted by people if it forgives a law breaker again and again. Therefore, no matter how young the offender is, committing serious crimes secondly deserves equivalent treatment as adults. In conclusion, I believe that naive and young as criminals are, rigorous education and chances should be offered to them. However, if only they behave criminally again, there is no excuse to escape from being punished as adults.(345 words)雅思哥版Juvenile delinquency is becoming increasingly common in many countries and how to prevent it has long been a topic of debate. In my opinion, young criminals should be punished by law, but their age and the root cause of this problem should also be considered. It is customary practice in many parts of the world to treat juvenile delinquents differently from adult criminals. This is because the society is more lenient with young people who make mistakes. Adolescence is a special period, in which young people tend to lack self-control and the ability to judge right from wrong. When they grow up to adults, many of them would come to realize how silly they were and then become law- abiding citizens. Therefore, it i' reasonable to mitigate the punishment when dealing with young criminals, since their damage to the society is not as serious as that of adult criminals. In addition, if we look into the underlying causes of juvenile delinquency, it is the family and social environment that should be primarily responsible for this problem. In many families, parents are too busy to supervise children's growth, or their permissiveness encourages children's wrong behavior. TV _programs and video games inundated with violence also contribute to the increasing youth crimes. With these factors taken into consideration, it seems unjustified to treat young criminals in the same way as adults.Overall, young offenders should be punished by law, particularly when their crimes pose a threat to the security of the society. However, the minors' rights need to be protected and the punishment on them should be different from that on adults.(268 words)唐老雅版It is argued that, when a teenager commits a crime, even a serious crime such as robbery or sexual molestation, he should not be given the same punishment as an adult criminal. Instead of being put into prison, as these people would suggest, the young criminal should be ordered to do some community services so that they can learn from their mistakes. Quite contrary to this popular belief, I think all criminals, no matter how young they are, should be put into jail and how long they should stay there depends on the severity of their crime.Firstly, prison is a good place for young people to think again what wrong they have done to other people. When put into jail, the young people will have little to do but read and think about their past. There are also many people who will help the young people understand why what they have done before is not socially acceptable. In this way, these young criminals will have a better chance to come back to normal life. On the contrary, if they are just ordered to community services, they may very likely end up repeating their mistakes.Secondly, for these young criminals, their experience in prison may help prevent them fromcommitting more crimes. Once they have been put into jail, they will never forget this experience. So, next time when they think of doing anything wrong, their memory of the prison will immediately return and then they may stop. The memory of doing community services, I believe, does not have this function. Therefore, my opinion is that, like an adult law violator, the teenager should also go to prison he commits serious crimes because this experience in prison may enable them to become a better person. Other forms of punishment may be useful, yet I do not think they are as effective as prison.新东方版It is sometimes argued that young lawbreakers should be tried as adults for crimes. I personally believe that this is partly reasonable. On the one hand, those who participate in violent crimes should not be treated differently than adult offenders. This is because most crimes, such as rape or murder, are thoughtful, deliberate and cunning in its planning and execution. If our courts trend toward a more lenient position, then the related laws and punishment will not have a deterring effect on teenagers. As a result, teenagers are likely to commit horrible crimes since they are aware that they have legal protection. What’s worse, these teens might recommit after they are released from jails. In some cases, the lighter sentencing might also lead to resentment towards the judicial system as victims might argue that these young offenders do not confess what they have done. This could also result in insecurity in our society eventually. On the other hand, the circumstances of a crime and its motivation should be taken into consideration when it comes to juvenile delinquency. For example, because of distress and hunger, some teens may turn to stealing food or robbery during a period of famine. Under this circumstance, harsh punishment, such as long-term jail might not be the best solution. In my view, most of the young offenders lack parenting and self-discipline, which would mean that other alternatives, such as community service and rehabilitation might be better alternatives for them. In conclusion, I feel that it is vitally important for judges and state legislators to ensure the justice equality regardless of the criminal’s age.5月13日社会类话题探讨进口食品利弊的问题In some countries, it is possible for people to have a variety of food imported from all over the world. 8月3日大学教育话题探讨学生该专精一门还是要广泛学习Students in university should be specialized in one subject rather than to develop a wider range of many different subjects. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement.小站版Nowadays, people are cynical about whether students should major in one subject or learn a variety of subjects when they are in university. From my point of view, I support the latter opinion. On the one hand, students focusing one subject are more likely to take up decent jobs in the future. As we all know, human beings have already entered the era of specialization. And only with the knowledge of core subject that students learn in the university, can they become professionals afterwards. A fact making the situation even urgent is that the time in university is so limited that if they do not concentrate on one discipline, they may not gain a deeper understanding of this discipline. Taking medical science for an example, there is little possibility for students to become prestigious surgeons or physicians if they do not devote themselves to their core subject. On the other hand, the situation in the workplace is far more complex and only concentrating on one subject is not sufficient for students to respond to the challenges when they enter the workplace. For example, almost in every industry, graduates have to communicate with colleagues and in this sense, if they learn behavioral psychology in university, they may understand their colleagues more and know how to work collaboratively with others to achieve shared targets. Apart from this, developing a wider range of subjects exposes students to many more new ideas and makes them acquire a multidimensional understanding of current issues, which will definitely promote innovation in their future career. In conclusion, while sparing on effort to study on discipline can make students become professionals in the future, exposing a variety of subjects is more beneficial for them in the long term.8月12日科技类话题探讨现代沟通科技的优缺点小站版The advent of telecommunication technology has revolutionized our work patterns and lifestyle. Despite the claim that one has never reaped benefit from this invention, others,as well as I,insist that it has made great contribution to humans more than one aspect. In this information age, mobile technology makes a huge difference to people’s working style, thus enhancing their efficiency and productivity. With faster access to the digital reports from colleagues or superiors, staff are allowed to shorten/cut their time spent on insignificant things and therefore accomplish more tasks in the same given period. For example, instead of room-based conference in which people are gathered and then allocated tasks one by one,an email to the target employ with full details of the assignments will do. The male Swedish andDutchmen retired at the latest age of 70 and 65, whereas male Germans and Italians enjoyed their retirement much earlier( 48 versus 50).The retirement age for the female also experienced a rise in most of the countries, with Italy being the only exception, whose female citizens can retire five years earlier in 2008. The Swedish females also had the latest retirement age(almost to 70), followed by Spain and Netherland. By comparison, the Italian and Germany females could retire from their work when they were in middle age.Overall, the males retire later than females in most countries, although people of different genders in Italy and Germany retire at the same age.Writing Task 2题目类别:社会类提问方式:报告类考试题目:A rise in standard of living in a country only seems to benefit cities rather than rural areas. What problems might this difference cause? How might these problems be solved?参考范文(Word Count: 269)Nowadays, fast economic development has led to the rising standard of living in a country, which then brings a lot of benefits to the country’s economy in return. However, this phenomenon seems to be more beneficial for cities but not rural areas. In the following paragraphs, problems caused by this phenomenon and solutions to these problems will be discussed.Because of the huge differences between cities and rural areas, a large amount of rural population has moved to cities to have a better life, causing cities become increasingly crowded. A further dire consequence is that the relatively less educated migrants from rural area will cluster in certain blocks in cities, bringing about some security issues or even somecrimes. Apart from this, that people move to cities also results in a lack of labour of rural areas, which then has a bad influence on the local economic development and give rise to more imbalance between these two areas. To solve the problems mentioned above, more job opportunities should be created in order to let rural people have a higher income and be able to consume so as to contribute to the local economic development. This could be done by investing more projects in the rural areas by the government, such as supporting the development of local tourism. In conclusion, the trend that cities are getting more benefits from the rising living standard in a country has enlarged gaps between urban and rural areas, followed by other related problems. In order to solve this problem, more attention is supposed to shifted to the employment and development of the rural areas.。

I am convinced that it is absolutely necessary to make this idea come true as soon as possible.第二段可以让步一下,指出艺术教育的昂贵使之成为必修课有些难度Admittedly, the relatively high cost of art education renders it difficult to be prevalently compulsory.可以举例子说明艺术教育的教学资源花费不菲Take painting for instance. Due to the fact that there are various kinds of painting classes, the expenses like pigment, paintbrushes and painting paper may pose some financial burden to family where money is tight. Besides, the particular requirements of the teaching environment may further add to the overall costs of aesthetic education, making it more unaffordable.然后话锋一转,艺术教育花费高的情况也是有方法可以解决的Yet, the situation can be alleviated by increasing national subsidies or the lowering the expectation of constructing a fancy studio.第三段给出支持艺术教育的第一个原因,强调可以拓宽学生知识面Meanwhile, the merits of aesthetic education outweigh its drawback since students can have access to a wide range of knowledge through appreciating these artworks in class.然后可以采用举例论证(exemplification)进一步论证艺术教育的生动性和深刻性For example, compared with the limited narration in history book, one of the masterpieces of Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci, The Last Supper, displays a scene of religion in a more vivid and profound way.还可以增加个小点,阐述艺术教育对理科学习的互补作用Art classes provide students with another opportunity to think and these classes are significantly complementary to some core classes such as math and science.第四段进一步给出支持的第二个原因,即艺术教育有助提高学生综合素质,促进学生长远发展Additionally, the underlying merits of attending art classes will benefit the students in the long run, which are no less than those of studying some core subjects.可以进一步说理论证,指出艺术教育中习得的各项能力对学生的学业进步和工作发展有利The abilities like to be focused, to be detail-oriented and to be persistent will be conducive to students' comprehensive ability and career development as well.尾段对主体段的主要观点(艺术教育有助深化知识,学科互补,提高综合能力)进行总结~In conclusion, aesthetic education should be made compulsory, for it helps deepen students' acquisition, complement other subjects and contributes to their overall competence and career progress as well.

What can be done to encourage them to have a positive Attitude?小站版Although the education level of the young generation is higher than before, most of them hold a negative attitude towards study especially after graduation. Some possible reasons as well as potential methods to tackle this issue will be analyzed and suggested in this essay. There are three main reasons for this case, the essential one of which is that teachers and parents have distorted recognition of formal education. In their views, the object of acquiring academic knowledge, participating in community activities or competition is for achieving better grades that are prerequisites when applying for the prestigious university or decent job positions. Unfortunately, the result is often contrary to their expectations. There seems no indispensable relation between higher salary and diploma; the admission of first-tier university and a good GPA,which has been proved by the examples of senior students who are still struggling with competitors in the job market or undertaking a job with lower payment. The second reason lies in the examination-oriented assessment system. Tests are widely used as the sole way to evaluate the learning process, which enormously demotivates students who are not adept at testing. Last but not the least, some students are forced to choose subjects that less interest them. In order to increase the possibility of attaining a stable job, they may major in engineering or medicine though art or literary is their sincere pursuit. There are several practices and actions can be applied to reverse the negative attitude to learning. First and foremost, the development of personal all-round ability should be emphasized on. Apart from scores of exams, students’aesthetic appreciation, athletic ability and moral integrity are supposed to be main items of assessment. In addition, it is necessary for government to promote the diversity of industries. Public funding or tax revenues can be allocated to support the artistic programs or archaeology which may have less relevant with economic growth but are ideals for certain students. In conclusion, it is one’s attitude that determines his or her success. Only when students have enthusiasm about learning can they benefit from the knowledge they accumulated and skills they mastered.雅思哥版Many young people are having a negative attitude to learning and this is true especially after their graduation. This essay will analyze some possible reasons for this and suggest potential ways to reverse the case. The major reason is that students and sometimes even parents and teachers have a distorted recognition Of education. Many Of them believe that the purpose Of receiving education is simply to guarantee a future career and gaining a better chance of employment is the single goal that motivates them. But today even after having graduated from school, young people are not ensured Of a suitable job. They have witnessed examples of their seniors who are still struggling to find jobs and those who have found jobs are being underpaid and exploited.Another important reason should be due to the fact that courses of study are often forced upon students and (their aptitudes and interests are barely taken into consideration. For example, a student who wants to make his or her career in the field of literature is forced to study be positive about his or evaluate the learning process, which should easily discourage the interests in learning. Unfortunately, test-wise students can often perform well on exams without having good underlying knowledge or skills. It is easy to notice that many teachers and learners focus only on those aspects of the curriculum to be tested; thus narrowing the educational experience for all. However, there are several steps and actions that can be taken to bring back the attitude of young people. First and foremost, the whole education experience of students should be less examination-oriented and instead Of preparing them for the future tests, there should be a wide range of subjects to develop their interests and other skills. Also, students should be encouraged to become more involved in making their choices and plans in study, which would promote their motivation in a desirable way. Additionally, teachers and parents who need counseling in teaching and bringing up children should be supported by related authorities and organizations, such as offering them seminars provided by experienced professionals.( 365words )唐老雅版Many young people, once leaving school, have expressed their resentment (怨恨)toward learning, saying they will never get back to school. Then, what makes these young people hate their school life so vehemently(强烈地)?There could be two reasons why this happens. First, today the students are surrounded by so many distractions(分心的事情)that they gradually find that learning is too boring and uninteresting. While students two decades ago had nearly no choice but sit in the classroom and read books, students today have easy and fastaccess(进入;使用)to Internet, on which they can do almost all things. For instance, they can play computer games, watch videos, search for any information they need, and chat with their friends, to mention just a few(如此等等). So, having been used to this kind of “easy”online life, many young people simply cannot put their heart into the more serious and consuming(耗费的)school work.Another important factor that affects the students' attitude towards learning is that a good education seems not as important as before. For quite a long time, receiving a good education was the only way for young people to get a decent job and earn a high salary. But now, this is apparently(表面地;明显地)not the case any more. Influenced by business stars like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, many young people now begin to believe that one’s success is not in proportion to(与......成正比)the education s/he receives. The students, therefore, are not motivated enough to focus on their learning. As education of the young is so important to the future of the world, we ought to find ways out of this embarrassing situation. For example, the school and parents should work together to set limits on the time children spend online and encourage them to devote more time to learning. Besides, young people should be made to understand that life is not just about making money, but about having rich and colorful experience and learning is the best gateway(通路)to that rewarding(有回报的)life. (333 words)熊猫版第一段做同义改写,然后说一下这篇文章要干嘛~In the current era, there is a phenomenon that the current generation does not hold a positive view of study when they leave school. This essay will examine the possible reasons and potential solutions for this phenomenon.第二段,写一下理论和实际的差距,让一些人觉得学习没用To begin with, students do not know how to use what they learn, which makes them dislike study. Currently, some students are sat isfied with what they have learned from the class, but actually there exists a huge gap between what one learns and what one can do. For example, if a mechanic just learns everything from a manual theoretically, it does not necessarily mean that s/he could successfully fix a car immediately. Thus, lacking of internship and working experience, students may find that lessons given by teachers cannot be directly used in work and it is natural for them to neglect study on purpose.第三段写起来需要比较好的条理,讲一下只知道学习的学霸的窘境~In addition, study is not the only factor for success. Some students regard academic performancesas a guarantee for job seeking, but they may neglect other crucial factors. For example, communicative skills are emphasized in almost every enterprise currently. If a person does not know how to cooperate and coordinate with peers, even if s/he has a good academic performance, s/he may not be accepted by enterprises. Thus, it is the ignorance of social skills that make some candidates fail to secure employment, but they may attribute their failure to learning.第四段讲一下实习的重要性~In order to spark young people’s interest in studying and alter their negative attitude towards study, universities and colleges should provide them with more internship opportunities before graduation, through which they could link what they learn on class with practice. Then, after graduation, they could secure employment in a shorter time with their working experience. Meanwhile, when they do internships, it is an excellent opportunity for them to learn how to communicate with their workmates, improving their ability to cooperate and coordinate.最后一段小总结就好啦~In sum, lacking working experience and social skills may account for the reason why young people do not want to learn when they leave school and universities and colleges should take this responsibility and provide more internship positions to them.3月18日教育类话题探讨小孩是否能通过看电视而有效学习task: Children can learn effectively through watching TV. Therefore children should be encouraged to watch TV regularly both at home and at school. To what extent do you agree or disagree?小站版Traditionally,classroom-based education was the main source of knowledge but in recent years,it is not uncommon that children are taking advantage of the television to study. Consequently,it is suggested that they watch TV programs both in and out of school. In my opinion,it is beneficial for their all-round development despite some drawbacks. The first point to note is that the educational programs on TV can help to consolidate knowledge learnt in class. For example, documentary and public service advertisement about the environment, usually shown at dinner, can disseminate information about our great mother nature and the environment problems facing today's world. This can be more impressive than lessons in their textbooks. The entertaining programs during lunch break at school can also facilitate their learning. To be more specific, most of the entertainments aiming at children are inventive and fantastic. The vibrant colors and brilliant ideas can always attract them easily and contribute to developing their creativity and innovation before they realize it.Some may worry that the unhealthy information on TV,like violence and pornography, would mislead students, who are often considered as having no strong sense of right and may imitate the wrongdoings blindly. However, this can be avoided if strict censorship is enforced to grade the programs and ensure that students are enjoying appropriate shows when it is their TV time andthat is exactly why they should watch TV in a regular manner. In conclusion, television programs benefit students both academically and spiritually and they should be allowed to watch TV as long as they are protected from the malicious information. (280 words)雅思哥版The popularization of TV makes it possible for children to watch TV programs both at home and school. This is an effective access to extra-curricular knowledge, but the problems caused by watching TV need to be addressed. There is no doubt that children ca scope of knowledge by watching informative and educational programs. Being exposed to these programs, children would have a better understanding of nature, history and culture. In many schools, TV is adopted in class as a tool to aid teachers to impart knowledge of various subjects. Also, watching TV is a good way for children to refresh themselves and reduce the stress in their study. When they get tired pf reading books or doing math, they can take a break by watching interesting TV programs and return to the study with higher efficiency. However, watching TV without appropriate supervision can be harmful to children's learning and growth. Due to the lack of self-control, some children may get addicted to TV series, wasting their precious time and distracting them from the study. When the amount of time spent in watching TV goes up, children would have less time to improve their social skills and do physical exercises. Another problem is that some programs may set a bad example and mislead children behavior, as children tend to be influenced by characters they see on television.Overall, children can be allowed to watch TV at home and school and the important thing is that teachers and parents need to control the screen time and supervise children in selecting suitable programs.(264 words)唐老雅版Children sitting in front of TV and enjoying their favorite programmes is certainly an attractive scenario, yet TV is an even more attractive tool for the education of children. Travel channels take children to many different places around the globe, thus opening their eyes to the vast outside world. History programmes give children a sense of the past by telling them about historical events and figures. And, if children watch such programms as “animal world”, they may cultivate an awareness of the environment in which we human beings find ourselves and then they may understand the importance of maintaining good relationships with animals. Furthermore, TV often presents knowledge in far more vivid ways than books and teachers, which makes learning from TV a very enjoyable and efficient process. However, it does not follow that children should be encouraged to watch TV as much as they want at home and in school. In the first place, watching too much TV is harmful to the eyes of the children. As a matter of fact, many children become short-sighted at an early age simply because they spend too much time staring at the TV screen. Then, watching too much TV means the children have to sacrifice their time for reading and other creative activities. As many experts suggest, though children can learn a great deal from watching TV, yet their imagination and language skills can be better developed by reading. Even worse, if children sit in front of TV for too long, they will havelittle time to mix up with other children, which may put their interpersonal skills at stake. To conclude, when we consider the positive role TV plays in children’s development, we need to take into account its possible consequences. We should allow children to watch TV because it is a good way for them to learn about the world, but we should also set a limit on the TV-watching time so that our children can find time for other activities that may help improve their personalities, imagination and interpersonal skills.熊猫版第一段:同义改写,表明观点When it comes to the issue about whether watching TV should be recommended for children, some people argue that parents should encourage their children to watch TV programs every day both at school and after school since they could acquire more knowledge. However, I cannot agree with this opinion.第二段:小孩可能并没有真的去记住知识,而就是图个乐子~To begin with, TV programs may distract children’s attention from study, which accounts for the reason why children should not spend too long time on TV programs. For most children, courses at school seem more boring while TV programs could be more interesting because there are funny plots, interesting characters and sound effects in TV programs. Then, children may be capable of focusing on their classes and cannot fully understand what teachers teach. In order prevent children from collapsing in front of a screen every day, children should be restricted for watching TV programs.第三段:电视节目可能会有一些不合适的内容啊!Furthermore, there may exist some inappropriate contents inside some programs exerting a negative influence on children. With the classification and rating administration in movies, children could avoid seeing many scenes concerning about drugs and violence. However, no one can fully guarantee that children can be absolutely away from those inappropriate programs on TV. Since children cannot distinguish right from wrong, they may imitate some bad behaviors, such as bullying others.第四段:我这里写了个驳论,把“能拓宽视野”这个点驳斥了一下,认为小孩能记住学校的知识就不容易,拔苗助长不一定有效果~Admittedly, some opponents argue that watching TV enables children to broaden their horizons so they should see TV programs regularly; however, they are overoptimistic about this merit. It is true that some scientific and educational programs can help children acquire some knowledge in advance, but how much knowledge children can absorb remains a question. Unlike adults, children may find it too difficult to remember too much information at a time. For most children, it is enough for them to understand knowledge they learn at school and it may even become an extra burden on students if they are forced to watch more TV programs.最后一段:小小总结自己的观点和理由就好~In sum, spending time on TV programs at school and at home may not be an optimal choice for children, considering that they may lose interests in study and simulate some bad behaviors.3月25日教育类话题教师在现代教育中无用?task: In the past, the role of teacher was to provide information. Today, students have access to wide sources of information. There is, therefore, no role of teacher in modern education. Do you agree or disagree?小站版Some people hold the opinion that the main purpose of teachers’existence is to offer information. However, students in current society can have access to amounts of information, so teachers are not as significant as before. I totally disagree with this statement. The Internet provides students with abundant information and makes the process of obtaining information more efficient, convenient and interesting and in this sense, teachers seems dispensable. For example, if a student wants to know the history of French, he can easily find sufficient information, which ranges from vivid pictures to profound paper. Nevertheless, only with teachers, can students gain a better understanding of the knowledge. That is to say, teachers can select the most suitable information, no matter where the information comes from and employ different strategies suited to the particular group of pupils.Apart from the most obvious function of teachers discussed above, teachers play a key role in moral education and social skills learning. The competition in modern society is so fierce that only equipping with academic knowledge is not adequate. Under the guidance of teachers, students can understand how to behave properly and become productive members of society. The same is true for social skills. If a student is rich in knowledge but weak in social skills, there is little possibility for him/she to become well-adjusted adults. To sum up, although the advent of modern technology brings about ample information for students, students require more direction in terms of standard of upright conduct and social skills, so the role of teacher is less likely to be replaced.(263 words)雅思哥版Some people claim that schooling is no longer necessary, since more and more information is accessible, such as on the Internet. However, I do believe that the role of teacher is still essential in modern education.Teachers used to be told what to teach, and how to teach it and they were expected to focus on equipping students with enough knowledge as the syllabus told. But in today's world Of education, a teacher's role is quite multifaceted. Their job is to counsel students, help them learn how to use their knowledge and integrate it into their lives so they will be valuable members of society. That is because school is not only a platform to impart knowledge any more but also a stage to educate an individual about values and attitudes etc. Studying and living in an environment where studentswill be encouraged by their teachers and be accompanied by their peers benefits them in a way that no other method could compete so far. At school, students are more likely to know how to be themselves while fitting in a group, and develop their critical thinking while learning to take advice from others. It is true that the Internet is a master key to almost all the knowledge available. So a good understanding Of computer technology Will give students an edge in searching for and making use of the information for their studies, But when students are well exposed to all kinds of information provided by the huge database of the Internet, it is the judgment they learn from teachers that helps them distinguish between the goodness and the evilness. Therefore, while the digital age has had some good influence to the younger generation, when it comes to education, teachers are and will always be playing the leading role.(301 words)唐老雅版Nowadays it is not uncommon to see a teacher lecturing laboriously with some students fixing their eyes on their laptop screen or smartphone and others sleeping. The reasons for this pathetic situation are varied, one important being that, with more sources of information at hand, students do not have to rely on their teachers as much as before for things they want to know. While this is certainly true in a sense, I still hold that the teacher does have a role to play in modern education. In the first place, Internet, along with other similar non-human sources, is far from perfect as a source of information and knowledge. For one thing, information on Internet may be unreliable, or even incorrect. A friend of mine recently got into serious trouble because she obtained an article from Internet and gave it to her supervisor, only to find later that the article was about Australia, rather than Austria as she had originally expected. For another, knowledge from the Internet is often incomplete and fragmented, but what students need is really something more systematic so that they can obtain a comprehensive picture of an academic field. A student who mainly depends on the Internet for knowledge may end up a Jack of all trades but master of none. But even if the Internet and other similar sources provide information as accurate and systematic as the teacher does in class, I still do not agree that they can supersede the classroom teaching. After all, going to school is not just about obtaining information. It is more of an experience. Compared with the “cold”and“indifferent”Internet, the communication with teachers in classroom often carries a tinge of human warmth and that personal feeling is sometimes even more important than the knowledge itself and becomes part of our memory of school life. So, in terms of knowledge-based education, the Internet and other sources do facilitate our access to information (though sometimes inaccurate and incomplete), yet when it comes to experience-based education, which I think is more essential, there is always an important role for the teacher to play. (355 words)熊猫版第一段:同义改写,表达观点When it comes to the necessity of teachers in the current era, some people argue that they are less important because students have other sources of information, but I cannot agree with thisopinion.第二段:老师的权威性To begin with, knowledge of teachers is more authoritative. It is true that students could obtain knowledge from other sources, such as Internet. However, since everyone can post on websites and forums, it may be difficult for students to tell the difference between right and wrong when they encounter contradictory opinions. Thus, teachers are still necessary as a source of information since they have gained professional knowledge in advance.第三段:对课程的规划In addition, teachers know how to teach students in a suitable way. Many students find it difficult when they begin to learn a new subject since they may never hear of it before. However, teachers, more often than not, will have an integrated plan of a subject and begin their teaching from some basic points to lower its difficulty for beginners. Therefore, following teachers who are potent to guide students to learn in a systematic way is more effective and efficient than other sources of information.第四段:动手能力Furthermore, students can improve their practical skills with the help of teachers. For some subjects, such as chemistry and physics, students need to do some experiments in order to deepen the understanding of some phenomena. Without experienced teachers, students may face danger since they just know the process of experiments theoretically but do not have practical experience. For example, chemical explosions may happen if students wrongly put some materials together. 第五段:小小总结~To sum up, teachers still function as a crucial source of information, considering their authoritative knowledge, systematic ways of teaching, and practical skills.3月30日科技类话题探讨知识储存方式的利弊问题task: In the past, knowledge was stored in books; nowadays, knowledge is stored in the Internet. Do advantages outweigh disadvantages?小站版Nowadays, people can have access to knowledge not only through books but also from the Internet.A number of people believe there are more benefits than drawbacks of reserving knowledge on the Internet and I could not agree more. One of people’s concerns is that there is amounts of information on the Internet and without the supervision of related departments, some people, especially the teenager may be misguided by misleading information. For example, there are so many kinds of novels on the Internet that it is difficult to distinguish which one is proper for a minor to read.On the other hand, one obvious merit is that it has become more convenient for people to acquire knowledge. A range of ways can be employed to obtain knowledge, such as using an iPad, smartphone or a kindle. Apart from the various kinds of manners of reading, now people can gain knowledge wherever they want, which means instead of holding a book and reading quietly in a study, people can even read on a bus or subway only with their smart phones.Another more meaningful advantage is that people in poverty can have easy access to knowledge if the knowledge is available on the Internet. As we know, compared with books, the e-books are more affordable and plenty of them are even free. Consequently, it allows more people to receive education contributing to social equality in some extent. All in all, as I see it, the merits clearly outweigh the potential demerit because as long as there is supervision, the concern mentioned above will not be a problem anymore and I am convinced that sound supervision is on the way.(279 words)环球版Internet technology is, to a great extent, updating all aspects of people’s life especially means of information storage. In the realm of English language examinations, the essay section is a critical component that assesses a candidates ability to express thoughts coherently and effectively. For the2017English II exam, lets consider a hypothetical prompt and create a sample essay that could serve as a model response.Title:The Impact of Technology on Modern EducationIntroduction:In the21st century, the rapid advancement of technology has revolutionized various aspects of our lives, including the field of education. The integration of technology in classrooms has transformed the way students learn and teachers instruct. This essay aims to explore the positive and negative impacts of technology on modern education.Body Paragraph1Positive Impacts:One of the most significant advantages of technology in education is the accessibility of information.Students can now access a wealth of knowledge through the internet, which was previously limited to textbooks and libraries.Online resources, such as educational videos, forums, and interactive websites, have made learning more engaging and interactive.Furthermore, technology has facilitated personalized learning experiences, where students can learn at their own pace and style, catering to individual needs and preferences.Body Paragraph2Negative Impacts:Despite the numerous benefits, the overreliance on technology in education has its drawbacks. One such concern is the potential for decreased human interaction. Facetoface communication is crucial for developing social skills, which may be compromised if students spend excessive time on digital devices.Additionally, the constant exposure to screens may lead to issues such as eye strain and sedentary behavior, which can have longterm health implications.Body Paragraph3Balancing Technology and Traditional Methods:To harness the full potential of technology in education while mitigating its negative effects,it is essential to strike a balance between digital and traditional teaching methods. Teachers can incorporate technology to enhance learning experiences without replacing the need for classroom discussions and handson activities. For instance, using digital tools to supplement lessons with multimedia content can make complex concepts more understandable, while still allowing for group work and peertopeer interaction. Conclusion:In conclusion, technology has undeniably reshaped the landscape of modern education. While it offers numerous benefits, such as increased access to information and personalized learning,it is crucial to be mindful of its potential pitfalls.By integrating technology thoughtfully and maintaining a balance with traditional teaching methods,we can ensure that education remains both effective and holistic.Word Count:Approximately300wordsThis sample essay provides a structured response to a hypothetical prompt, demonstrating a clear introduction, body paragraphs with both positive and negative aspects, and a conclusion that ties the essay together. It is important to note that the actual2017English II exam may have had a different prompt, and this essay is crafted for illustrative purposes only.。

At the same time, such a trend can cause numerous problems for both rural areas and urban areas. There are a number of problems in cities resulting from this trend, but the principal factor lies in the housing problem. It is the fact that the demand for housing rise, as people in increasing numbers choose to work and live in cities. As a result, there is a possibility that the housing prices will increase due to the demand exceeding the supply, which could cause a new problem for people who either live in cities all the time or move into cities from rural areas.Another problem is that a growing number of people may find it difficult to find satisfying jobs. This is largely because when there are more people in a certain city, looking for jobs will become more difficult. A number of problems can also be found in rural areas. One of the most serious problems is that the fields may decline, as people in increasing numbers choose to move away from their home. This is partly because when people leave farmlands for cities, there are not enough people farming. In addition to this, many rural areas may experience a slowerdevelopment, as many people leave agricultural areas, which is harmful for the economy of rural areas. Consequently, measures should be taking in order to address the problems that this trend brings about. Some factories can be set up in rural areas, which could offer many job opportunities to people living there.Furthermore, the government should take some action to help farmers’ lives.【范文2】Some people said the government shouldn't put money on building theaters and sports stadiums; they should spend more money on medical care and education. Agree or not agree?Nowadays, many people argue against the government putting money on building theaters and sports stadiums. They have claimed that medical care and education would benefit the citizens and the country much more. However, I believe it is worth building more theaters and arenas.First, stadiums and arenas provide ideal places for people to have physical exercises and entertainment. After a whole week’s hardworking, people can enjoy a wonderful football game in the weekend, and refresh themselves with a good relaxation there. Moreover, the physical exercises are good for people’s health, which will ease the pressure of medical care.Second, theaters and museums can be used as base areas of culture and history education. The British Museum, which is the largest one in the world, provides visitors with knowledge about the world culture and the arts. The visitors to the museum are all overwhelmed by the magnificence of the cultural and historical displays featuring mank ind’s achievements. In addition, the performances shown in the theaters will also greatly enrich thelives of citizens. People can enjoy ballet, symphony, and Peking Opera in a theater, which contain the soul of Chinese and western cultures.Third, running theaters and stadiums can earn much money. And this amount of money can do great contribution in other fields, including medical care, and education. After winning the Olympic 2008,Beijing made a plan to spend 160 billion RMB building an Olympic Village. This will surely attract many sports fans to China, which would be much rewarded, not only in economy but the whole society. You can tell form my commentary above, since building theaters and stadiums benefit not only individuals but also the state, it is very worthy of these expenses. And the government should speed up the pace of the constructions.【范文3】some people claim that the disadvantages of the car are more than the advantages,do you agree or disagree? With the development of science and technology, the cars have already become the important component in our daily life gradually. Cars make our life convenient and swift. However, too many cars have caused very serious social problems. Some people claim that the disadvantages of car are more than the advantages. I doubt whether the argument can bear much analysis.Since one century [ago], the auto industry has [been] developed at full speed worldwide, and has brought the enormous progresses to our life. For example, the car is the most convenient tool of transportation. We can [be] on and off duty by car every day, we can go to travel by car on the vacation, we can utilize the cars to deal with some emergency too. The car [is]playing an important role in our daily life. They make our rhythm of life faster and faster, make our business become more and more efficient. On the other hand, the development of the automobile has brought a lot of infant industry to people, Give people countless employment opportunities too. Such as, manufacturing industry, repairing industry and maintaining industry. We are enjoying the convenience that the cars bring to us; at the same time we can utilize the auto industry to support ourselves. However, we can not ignore that too many cars cause enormous social problems, for example, traffic jam, air pollution, traffic accident, to which we have to find a solution. In a word, the cars have brought enormous change to our life; the advantages are far more than the disadvantages. We should recognize the merit of the cars, and do our best to solve the problems. If so, our life will be brighter.。
