除了学生的智力因素以外，非智力因素同样也是制约学生英语成绩提高的重要因素。

本研究选取的对象是武汉市青山区钢城二中的初三(3)班的学生。

钢城二中是位于青山区工人村地区的一所公立学校，该地区处在武汉市区的边缘，学校周边住房基本是上世纪80年代初为支援武钢建设而搭建的工棚，由于租住廉价，近年来聚集了大量的进城务工人员。

钢城二中自2003年开始招收农民工子女，到2007年学校农民工子女的比例已经达到全校学生的78%。
