Ⅰ.过去分词作定语
1.-ed分词既可以作前置定语,也可以作后置定语。

位置:单个的过去分词作定语,常置于被修饰词,这时过去分词的形容词意义强于动词意义。

过去分词短语作定语,常置于被修饰词,过去分词意义强于形容词意义,相当于一个省略的定语从句。

E.g. a broken cup /a wounded soldier
The car stolen last year was later found in the river.
把以下的后置定语改写成定语从句
the color TV set produced last year =the color TV set
a letter written to me by my daughter =a letter
【特别提醒】有些单个的过去分词作定语时,通常放在被修饰词之后作后置定语。

如left(剩下的,剩余的),concerned(有关的)等。

E.g. a concerned look关切的神色
There is a little time left. Let's hurry up.
2.意义:及物动词的过去分词作定语,既表示完成也表示被动,不及物动词的过去分词作定语只表示完成。

Have you read the novel written by Luxun?(表被动、完成)
In autumn,fallen leaves can be seen everywhere. (表示完成)

Ⅱ.一般过去时
一般过去时主要用来表示过去某时发生的动作或状态,常和表示过去的时间状语连用。

如常与when,then,at that time,just now,a moment ago,three days ago,last year,yesterday,in 2015,the other day等连用,但更多的是通过上下文来表明时间。

1.一般过去时表示过去某一时刻或者某一段时间发生的动作或者状态。

E.g. Robert went to Beijing on business the other day.
During his middle school years,he played football nearly every day.
2.表示过去的习惯动作,通常同时间状语或者频度状语连用。

When Li Ping was young,he often worked on the farm.
3.有些情况,没有明确的表示过去的时间状语,但可根据语境判断出动作发生在过去,应用过去时态。

I didn't know you were so busy.
