Final Exam instructions
Final Exam instructionsFinal: Presentation Topics and Skit/Debate IdeasPresentation InstructionsPresentations are done individually. Choose one of the topics from the list that follows. An outline of your presentation is due the day of the exam. It must be turned in prior to your presentation. Th e presentation should include 5 of the vocabulary words associated with the unit on Visiting a City or 2 phrases that we learned from the unit on Change. It should include an introduction that grabs the audienc e’s attention and a conclusion. The presentation should be 5 minutes. Cue cards are all owed, but you will be docked points if you only read from your cards and if it is too short.Unit: ChangeResearch an aspect of change. You can use an example we discussed in class or a different one tha t you are most interested in. You must demonstrate that your topic has changed over time or is in t he process of changing. You should also discuss how it influences and affects our lives. You shoul d include the following three aspects: The history of your topic, the present situation and future pr edictions based on the past and present. You must say where your information came from and why you have made the predictions you have described (are they your personal opinion or are they the predictions of experts?). For a visual, you must create a poster with a timeline, pictures, or chart d emonstrating the changes you describe in your presentation.Unit: Visiting New CitiesResearch a touristic city – you can pick anywhere in the world. Please do not select Hangzhou or Shanghai. While they are great cities, we are all very familiar with them =) You should create a m arketing campaign to attract tourists to the city. Include a slogan and information on where to stay, what to see, how to get there and how to get around the city. Make sure you think about critical in formation that tourists need to know. I also want you to include a brief section on the history of yo u location. What is unique about your chosen city? For a visual, you should create a pamphlet or a dvertising poster.Skit InstructionsJust as with the midterm, you have the freedom to choose an idea below or develop your own idea. Skits can be done in groups of no more than 4. Larger groups ran into problems during the midter m, so I will only accept groups of up to 4 people. Each person must speak 4-5 minutes. Thus, if yo u have a group of 3, the skit should be 12-15 minutes long with each person speaking an equal am ount of time. The skit must represent - through words and actions - the material and ideas studied i n the unit. Each skit should incorporate 5 of the vocabulary words associated with the Visiting Ne w Cities unit or 2 of the phrases we learned in the unit on Change. Your characters must be clear a nd the skit should run smoothly. Don’t fall out of character or have lengthy delays! Points will be docked for sloppiness, shortness and lack of clarity. You will also be graded on the use of props a nd costumes - they help with clarity and overall presentation.A script must be written and turned in prior to the presentation. Along with the script, each groupmember must write an evaluation of their group work, by answering the following questions:1) What did you contribute to the group preparation?2) What did your group members contribute?3) How did you work as a group? Did you work well? Did everyone contribute equally?4) Do you have any additional comments?BOTH ARE DUE THE DAY OF THE MIDTERM! You should turn in 1 script/group and each turn in an individual group evaluation.IDEASUnit: Change1. A skit demonstrating the influence of change on our lives2.Reactions different people have to changes (think personality, generational – how parents and th eir children react differently to change for example – or cross cultural).3. Advice for managing and dealing with changeUnit: Visiting New Cities1. Commercial for a marketing campaign for attracting tourists to a city2. Imitating the experience of a foreigner visiting a city3.Acting out what you anticipate your experience will be like visiting another city in another count ry4. Advice for travelersDebate InstructionsA debate should be an even numbered group of 2 or 4 students. You must each speak for 4-5 minu tes. You should present your arguments without interrupting the other party when it is not your tur n to speak. Following the explanation of your arguments, you will have the opportunity to address the opposing parties arguments and vice versa. You will each end with a final conclusion about yo ur side. Be sure to stick to your argument. You should also support your arguments with facts you have researched. You must explain where you found your facts as this will factor into your grade.I can really only imagine a good debate using the unit on Change, however if you think of a good i dea for Visiting New Cities, please feel free to use this unit as well. Remember, you must demonst rate that you have understood the ideas learned in the unit and include 5 vocabulary words from th e unit on Visiting New Cities or 2 of the phrases we learned in the unit on Change. An outline for your arguments is due the day of the exam. Along with the outline, each group member must write an evaluation of their group work (also due the day of the exam), by answering the following que stions:1) What did you contribute to the group preparation?2) What did your group members contribute?3) How did you work as a group? Did you work well? Did everyone contribute equally?4) Do you have any additional comments?Additional Notes:- There will be no pronunciation portion to the final exam.-All material presented must be in your own words. 英语final exam
One day ,my roomate asked me a question that if I could go back and live one year of my life over again ,which year would I choose ?I have thinked over this question several times.not because my roomate asked ,just because I want to find out if there is something I regret .And the answer is yes there is. I know I can not change anything .but I just want to talk about it .I took part in the entrance exam for postgraduate school twice and lost both times. It was a lengthy process to prepare for entrance examination ,durning this process I learned a lot from my failure. and I regret for it at the same time . I was easily upset by my boyfriend at that time .I should have pasted the exam but I havenot . it was my fault ,I think that must have let my parents down . and next year I tried it again and lost again. How wish I could control myself to deal with the contradicton between my parents and my boyfriend. Unfortunately, I have not .i lost him and missed him so much . I have ever lost faith in life ,and eventually I have yet conquered this difficulty.i think it is a turning point in my life .Then I met you here ,I love everybody here and thank godness I start my new life ,I appreciate it . Now thinking about the question my roomate asked me , which year I would choose to live it again, I put it frankly that I do not need to live the past time over again, and I know the most important thing is to try my best to do myself and try my best to make decision that I will not feelregret tomorrow. We all wish our life meaningful. We must look forward and that is what I want. That is all ,thank you .。

Find out the most common interview questions and answers here.Interview Questions - Tips for Job SeekersAttending job interviews can be intimidating! Being prepared will help you through the experience by increasing confidence, ensuring that you are presenting yourself appropriately and may ultimately bring success in securing the position. The process of interview preparation gives you the opportunity to mentally orient yourself as suitable for a job so that at interview you are already seeing yourself in the role.Researching for Interview QuestionsAn important part of interview preparation is to find out as much as possible about the organisation and the position. Find the company’s website and spend time learning about the organisation. What does the company do? What is its structure? Are there any issues to be aware of? Being able to demonstrate your knowledge will show the interviewers that you have some understanding of the company’s role and position in the market, who its competitors are and any challenges it might be facing.Having a good understanding of the role in question is just as important. This will help you identify your own suitability for the job vacancy and demonstrate this during the interview.Self-Awareness and Interview PreparationBeing aware of your strengths and challenges in an interview situation will help you put your best foot forward on the day. If you are typically a nervous wreck in job interviews, consider how you can support yourself through the process. Instead of rushing to an interview, plan some time to sit somewhere quietly beforeh and to help you get grounded and focus. If nerves aren’t much of a problem but you find it hard to remember examples of your work when asked, focus on these in your interview preparation.Practice, practice, practice! Ask a friend or colleague to help you practice your job interview technique and give you helpful comments. Make sure you choose someone who knows your work and will give honest and constructive feedback. Finally, if you are attending an interview at a company at which you already work, be care ful not to undersell yourself. Never assume that the interviewers already know all about you; it can be helpful to try to forget you know them and answer interview questions accordingly.Common Interview Questions and AnswersTypically there are 3 types of job interview questions. General exploratory questions are often used at the start of an interview, aimed at relaxing you and getting to know you a little. Designed to focus on how you function in a role, behavioural interview questions are generally probing and focus on your past approaches and look for how you might fit the company. The third type are situational interview questions. These are typically designed around real or hypothetical situations applicable to the job vacancy. Following are the 5 most common interview questions and answers to help you in your interview preparation.T ell us about yourselfOften the first question asked, this is a great opportunity to make a positive first impression. Make sure you mention your expertise and strengths, how your career has developed and where you want to head now - relating this to the job vacancy of course. Be brief and concise; don’t get carried away and give them your life story. Why have you applied for this job?Talk about why the company interests you - perhaps you’re passionate about the services it provides - and how the role matches your professional interests and experience. Values are a big thing with organisations these days so make sure you’ve checked for a values statement on their website an d can talk about how they fit with your own. What is your understanding of the company?Remember your interview question research? Use it to talk about what the company does, why it exists and where it sits in the market. Maybe the company is facing some challenges or might even be in the media; this interview question is a chance to demonstrate your knowledge. What are your strengths and weaknesses?Your interview preparation will have given you an understanding of what the company is seeking, so make sure you are ready to match your skills and knowledge to their needs. As far as weaknesses go, it is perfectly ok to talk about these, as long as you don’t mention anything listed in the selection criteria. A good way of describing a weakness is to talk about what you have done to manage it e.g. you have had to learn when to step back from your tendency to be a perfectionist.Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Most people dislike this interview question because often the real answer is ‘I don’t know’. One wa y of dealing with it is to talk about how you would like to be experiencing the workplace, i.e. feeling valued, making a real contribution, developing and using your skills and knowledge. And Finally…Always when answering interview questions, keep in mind that you need to promote yourself for the position. Make sure that you tie each of your answers back to your skills and motivation and demonstrate how you are the right fit for the organisation.Good luck!9.high scores, low abilityHigh Test Scores, Low AbilityYong Zhao is the University Distinguished Professor in the College of Education at Michigan State University. Discuss why excess return of the existing asset pricing models cannot always be used to as the evidence against Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH). (7 marks)There are two reasons explaining that the excess return found in single market index model may disappear in Fama-french pricing model: (1) there are two additional risk factors used in Fama-french pricing models including size and B/M ratio; (2 marks) (2) these two additional risk factors can better capture the risk sources than a single market risk factor, thus better explain the excess return found when investor use market index model. (2 marks)The existing pricing models are not always perfect to capture all of the risk factors. Therefore the excess return of the existing asset pricing models may disappear once the risk factors can be comprehensively captured and included into asset pricing models. Thus, the proposition of EMH that current stock prices fully reflect available information about the value of the firm, and there is no way to earn excess profits, (more than the market over all), by using this information, can still hold. (3 marks).4.Suppose that there are two stocks in the security market and that the characteristics of the stocks are given as follows:The correlation between the two stocks is 0.35. The risk-free rate is 3%.Calculate the optimal CAL (capital allocation line). What is the expected return of an efficient investment with a standard deviation of 25%. To which investor would you recommend such portfolio? [8 Marks]。

英语期末成绩分析总结与反思
英语期末成绩分析总结与反思Final Exam Grade Analysis, Summary, and ReflectionAs the semester comes to an end, it is important to reflect on the results of our final exams and analyze our grades. Understanding and learning from our performance not only helps us improve academically but also provides valuable insights into our study habits and strategies. In this analysis, I will examine my final exam grades, summarize the trends, and reflect on the areas that need improvement. My final exam grades across all subjects varied, ranging from high scores to mediocre ones. A thorough evaluation of my grades revealed certain patterns and trends. Firstly, I excelled in subjects that I have a genuine interest in and am passionate about. I invested more time and effort into studying these subjects and had a better understanding of the content. Consequently, I achieved high scores in those final exams. On the other hand, subjects that I found challenging or had difficulty understanding proved to be stumbling blocks. My grades in these subjects were lower. It is evident that there is a direct correlation between my interest in a subject and my performance. Therefore, the key takeaway from this analysis is the importance of fostering a genuine interest and curiosity in all subjects to improve overall academic performance.Another factor contributing to the variance in my grades was my study habits and strategies. I identified a weakness in time management and organization, resulting in inefficient studysessions. Procrastination became a recurring problem, leading to cramming sessions the night before exams rather than spreading out my study time evenly. This approach did not allow for necessary review and practice, negatively affecting my performance. Additionally, I realized that I often studied in a passive manner, relying heavily on reading and highlighting, rather than actively engaging with the material through practice problems or discussions. To improve my grades and overcome these challenges, several strategies can be employed. Firstly, I need to focus on improving my time management and organization skills. Creating a detailed study schedule and breaking down tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks can help alleviate procrastination. By setting specific goals for each study session, I can make the best use of my time and ensure a thorough understanding of the material.Secondly, it is important to adapt my study strategies to incorporate active learning methods. Instead of just reading and highlighting, I should engage in practice problems, write summaries of key concepts, and participate in study groups or discussions. These activities promote a deeper understanding and retention of the material. Moreover, seeking help when needed is crucial. If there are topics or subjects that I am struggling with, I should not hesitate to reach out to my teachers, classmates, or tutors for assistance. Collaborative learning can provide valuable insights and strengthen my understanding.Lastly, maintaining a positive mindset and staying motivated throughout the semester is essential. While it is natural to face challenges and setbacks, it is important to persist and persevere. Celebrating small victories and setting realistic goals can help maintain focus and motivation. In conclusion, the analysis of my final exam grades has provided valuable insights into my academic performance and study habits. By recognizing the correlation between my interest in a subject and my performance, I have learned the importance of fostering genuine curiosity in all subjects. Furthermore, identifying weaknesses in time management, organization, and study strategies has highlighted areas for improvement. By implementing effective strategies, seeking help, and maintaining a positive mindset, I aimto enhance my academic performance and achieve better outcomes in future exams.继续进行Final Exam成绩分析,概括和反思是非常重要的。
