Paulson InstituteThe Paulson Institute is an independent, non-partisan center located at the University of Chicago. Our work is grounded in the principle that today’s most pressing economic and environmental challenges can be solved only if the United States and China work in complementary ways.With offices in the United States and China, and partners around the globe, we take a ―think and do‖ approach. Our mission is to advance global environmental protection and sustainable economic growth in the United States and China, while fostering broader understanding between the two countries.The Institute was founded in 2011 by Henry M. Paulson, Jr., the 74th Secretary of the Treasury and former chief executive of Goldman Sachs to promote economic growth and environmental preservation in both countries through programs, advocacy and research.Institute programs and initiatives are focused in four areas: sustainable urbanization, cross-border investment, executive leadership, and entrepreneurship and innovation.The Institute also works in partnership with the University of Chicago to sponsor research andprovide a platform for distinguished thinkers from around the world to convey their ideas.The Carnegie–Tsinghua CenterThe Carnegie–Tsinghua Center for Global Policy brings together leading policy experts and practitioners from China and around the world to engage in collaborative dialogue and research. From its platform at Tsinghua University, the center works to identify effective and constructive solutions to common global challenges.The Carnegie–Tsinghua Center is also part of Carnegie’swell-established Asia Program, which provides clear and precise analysis to policymakers on the economic, security, and political developments in the Asia-Pacific region. The Carnegie–Tsinghua Center works with Carnegie’s other global centers to host conferences, roundtables, seminars, and closed-door briefings and to publish timely and incisive analysis on the most pressing global issues, including international economics and trade; energy and climate change; nonproliferation and arms control; and security threats in North Korea, Iran, South Asia, and the Middle East.An advisory council composed of distinguished leaders from the policy, business, and academic communities in China provides theCarnegie–Tsinghua Center with advice and support.Founded in April, 2014.Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public PolicyFounded in October 2006, the Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy (BTC) is a partnership between the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. and China’s Tsinghua University. Based in Tsinghua’s School of Public Policy and Management, the BTC seeks to produce high quality and high impact policy research in areas of fundamental importance for China’s development and for U.S.-China relations. The BTC provides research by Chinese and American scholars on economic and social iss ues in China’s development, hosts visiting researchers, and holds seminars, panels and conferences that bring together leading policy experts and officials from China and abroad.Increasing Focus on a Growing ChinaChina’s astonishing economic growth has p ropelled its emergence as a global power. To sustain growth, China must meet soaring energy demands, develop sound macroeconomic policy and financial institutions, and build a modern legal system. Other legal income.ICC-NDRCThe International Cooperation Center of National Development and Reform Commission (ICC-NDRC) was established in 1993 at the approval of State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform (SCOFSR). It’s an independent legal entity supervised by NDRC.The mission of ICC-NDRC is to execute cooperation projects between NDRC and international organizations as well as foreign governments, enterprises and organizations. It facilitates bilateral negotiations and cooperation mechanisms between NDRC and foreign governments, organizes international exchanges between bilateral governments and civil society, does research on opening up and overseas investment, provides consulting service on program planning and policy for domestic as well as foreign governments and enterprises. It also handles reception service for NDRC and foreign affairs procedures for overseas training. In addition, it organizes international conferences and participates in launching economic entities providing consulting and meeting service.In March 2009, ICC-NDRC and the Opening-up Center of NDRC worked together to launch the China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), a high-level think tank of China.
