Have you ever wondered what goes through your mind when you choose where to sit in a new classroom? Or in a waiting room full of strangers? Or on a bus? Researchers have found out some interesting facts.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, we prefer to sit closer to people like ourselves. Girls sit by girls and boys sit by boys. Adults sit together and young people choose another young person to sit near. But it goes further than this. We even choose to sit near someone who looks like us. People with glasses are more likely to sit near other people with glasses. People with long hair sit closer to other people with long hair.
We seem to believe that people with similar habits or hobbies will share similar attitude (态度) and we are more likely to be accepted by people like ourselves or even, we think we may be safer with people who look like us. Sometimes thafs true but it's a pity if we always stick to the same people, the same group. The danger in always staying in our comfort zone (舒适区)is that we just recycle the same opinions, the same tastes and the same ideas. We lose the chance to learn something new, find out about interesting things, hear funny stories and discover difference.
When we always stick to the same people, how can we ever break down the barriers (屏障) which prevent us from getting to know people with different ideas? Move out of your comfort zone. Go and sit next to someone different. And don't just sit there in silence. Say hello. Ask a question. Start a conversation. Thafs how we make friends. Thafs how we learn about people. Thafs how we open our minds to new ideas. Thafs how we live an exciting life.

.
A. be special and have new ideas

Will humans someday live and work on Mars? Many scientists think so. In fact, they are already working on plans to turn Mars to a new Earth.
Humans need three basic things to live: water to drink, air to breathe and food to eat. Because of the shortage of those above, it is impossible to live on Mars right now. For one thing, there is not enough oxygen. There is also no liquid (液态的)water — just some ice. So how can we make Mars a right place for humans to live on? The answer is to change the environment of the planet so that it is similar to Earth's.
On Mars, the temperature is about -60°C. So one of the main purposes is to warm it up. One idea for warming Mars comes from a problem here on Earth — climate (气候)change. Most scientists agree that Earth is becoming warmer because of increased levels of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere (大气).We might create similar conditions on Mars by building factories that give off greenhouse gases. The gas will change the atmosphere on Mars. Rain will fall, and it may be possible to grow plants for food. The plants will produce more oxygen to the air.
There will be many difficulties in changing Mars. The program could take many centuries, and the cost will be high. We have some of the technology, such as the ability to create greenhouse gases, but not the money. Anyway, life on Mars is a real possibility for future people.
66.The writer writes this article to .
A.talk about living conditions on Mars at present
B.talk about difficulties people meet with on Mars
C.introduce plans to turn Mars into our future home
D.introduce scientists5 discovery about Mars in the future
67.What does "it" probably mean in the second paragraph?
A. The answer.
B. The environment.
C. The basic thing.
D. The temperature.
68.What can be inferred from the passage?
A.Money is one of the difficulties to hold back the program.
B.Mars is the only planet for humans to live on in the future.
C.It is possible for people to live on Mars in the near future.
D.Technology can change Mars into a right place to live on now.

Why are some people successful and others aren't? What's the secret of success? You can get the answers in Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers.
Gladwell thinks practice makes you good. The t610,000-hour rule" is central to the book. It means that if you want to be among the best in the world, you need to practise something for 10,000 hours, about three hours a day for 10 years. For example, the Beatles practised playing music in Hamburg more than 1,200 times between 1960 and 1964, which is more than 10,000 hours of playing time.
Gladwell also thinks that intelligence (智力)alone will not lead to success. Christopher Langan, who is mentioned in the book, got an IQ of between 195 and 210. As a boy at school, Langan passed an exam in a foreign language after looking through a text book fbr three minutes. But Langan never made any achievements his whole life. This shows that besides intelligence, you need hard work, support, and chances.
However, it isn5t just a question of time and support. According to the book, you still need luck. Of course, many people say that you can create your own Tuck" if you're active enough.
So, are you putting in the hours? Carry on! You could get lucky!
69.Why did the writer ask questions in the first paragraph?
A. To ask others fbr help.
B. To list some examples.
C. To draw readers5 attention.
D. To introduce successful people.
70.How long do you need to practise something in order to succeed?
A. 3 hours.
B. 10,000 hours.
C. 4 years.
D. 10 years.
71.What can we learn from Christopher Langan?
A.Intelligence alone will not lead to success.
B.Success has nothing to do with hard work.
C.Whether we will succeed depends on our IQ.
D.We can learn a foreign language well in minutes.
72.What is the best title for the text?
A.Outliers: The Secret of Success
B.Intelligence: The Key to Success
C ・ Success: A Question of Time and Support
D. The Beatles: Creator of the 10,000-hour Rule
