Ss: Cat!
Show the picture: A cat is under the tree. (课件出示:树下一只猫)
T: Yeah, you’re so clever! Look at the cat. Is it tall?
Ss: No. It’s short!
T: Great! Come on, and give me five!
Ss: (Act it out.)
Act in groups/boys vs girls.
2. Match the words.
Prepare some word cards: fat, thin, tall, short…
Invite some students to act out “fat, thin, tall, short…”, and others put on the right word card on his/her body.
T: Where are they? What do they see?
(2)Students listen to the recording and number the words.
(3)Students watch the cartoon. Then point and read.
1. Look and choose.
Show the picture: A monkey is in the tree. (课件出示:猴子在树上)
Compare the monkey with the pig.
T: Is the monkey fat?
Ss: No!
T: Yes, the monkey is thin!
(Write down the word “thin” on the blackboard.)
Teach the word “short” by using the word card and write down the word on the blackboard.
(2)Listen to the sound: Pawoooo~ Pawoooo~ Pawoooo~(课件出示:一段Pawoooo的音频)
1. Guessing game.
T: We know there are many animals at the zoo. Do you want to go to the zoo?
Ss: Yes!
T: OK! Let’s go!
Show a gate of the zoo on the PPT. (课件出示: 一张动物园大门照片)
(3)Listen to the sound: Oink~ Oink~ Oink~ (课件出示:一段Oink的音频)
T: Then, what’s it?
Ss: Pig!
Show the picture: The pig is eating.
T: Look! The pig is fat.
Teach the word “fat” by using the word card and write down the word on the blackboard.
Students look at the pictures and choose the right answers, then read the sentences three times. (出示课件)
2 Look and say.
The teacher shows pictures of different animals. Students look at the pictures carefully. (出示课件)
Choose one to describe by the following sentence structures:
Look at that… It’s…
Play the game.
1. I say you do.
Students act out what the teacher says.
T: Be thin!
难点:能够听懂Let’s do板块的指令性语言,并根据指令性语言做出正确的反应。

分析
以Let’s learn学会单词“fat, thin, tall, short”,在Let’s do加强练习,能够熟练运用上述单词并通过多种活动运用句型“Look at that… It’s (so)…”描述动物或者其他事物的特征,并能在实际生活中正确运用。
T: Who are they? Please listen carefully.
(1)Students listen to the sound carefully, then guess.
Play the recording: Meow~ Meow~ Meow~ (课件出示:一段Meow的音频)
T: Wow! What’s that?
T: OK. What’s that?
Ss: …
Show the picture: The giraffe is drinking water. (课件出示:长颈鹿在河边喝水)
T: Look at the giraffe. It’s…
Ss: It’s tall!
T: Super!
Students read the word “tall” after the recording.
Lead students to read it.
2. Read and play.
(1)Read the words: tall, short, fat, thin.
Students read by themselves/in groups/boys vs girls/one by one.
(2)Which one is missing?
Show the words on the PPT one by one.
T: Which one is missing?
3. Watch and do.
(1)Let students look at the picture carefully and predict the main idea, then answer the questions. (课件出示:教材P25 Let’s learn的图片)
“个人读”“小组读”“男女读”“开火车”“哪个不见了”等多种形式操练,增强趣味性,帮助学生有效并熟练掌握词音、词形。
观察PPT图片,思考对应特点,选择正确的语句描述。完成图片、词形、词义配对,加深学生对重点单词和句型的理解。
