Thomas Hardy
▪ Thomas Hardy, was an English author ▪ of the naturalist movement, though he regarded
himself primarily as a poet and composed novels mainly for financial gain. The bulk of his work, set mainly in the semi-fictional land of Wessex, delineates characters struggling against their passions and circumstances.
When he was 12,he worked in a factory putting labels on bottles of shoe polish,helping sopport his family.
After his father was paroled (假释),he attended the Wellinton House Academy in North London
