Soon computers and other machines likecars will be able to remember you by looking at your eyes. It is the eye-recognition program. The program works because everyone's eyes are different, so in the futureyou won't have to remember a number when you want to use a machine or take money out of a bank. You'll just have to look at the machine and it will be able to tellwho you are.The eye-recognition program has already been tested in shops and banks in the USA, Britain, Spain, Italy and Turkey. Soon this technology will take the place of all other ways of finding out who people are.Scientists are also working on other systems. In some modern families, people can already open the doors and windows by fingers or voice instead of keys.Eye-recognition is better than other kinds of programs because your eyes don't change as you get older, and don't get dirty like hands or fingers, and even twins have different eyes. That’s why the eye-recognition program can be up to 94% correct, depending on how good the technology is. The other programs may only be 51% correct at present. In Britain, 91% of people who had tried it said that they liked the idea of eye-recognition.In the future your computer or car will be looking at you in the eye. Because 91% people said that they liked the idea of eye-recognition.D. Because it has already been tested in shops and banks in some countries. (▲)51. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?A. The eye-recognition program has already been tested in Japan.B. Some people have already opened the doors by voice instead of keys.C. Late that night, hehad food poisoning (中毒). He wanted to know how it happened.Danny learned about a few reasons for food poisoning. The first reason is that there are bacteria (细菌) in the food. Bacteria live in a lot of food and they live in meat, eggs and seafood most often. If you cook the food in a right way, you can kill the bacteria in it.Another reason for food poisoning is parasites (寄生虫). They often live in meat, but could sometimes live on vegetables, too. If you don’t cook the food in a right way, these parasites may start living in your body! The third reason for food poisoning is eating the food with toxins (毒素) in it. Sometimes the food gets toxins naturally, and sometimes the toxins come from insect spray (喷雾杀虫剂). Although this skill can help you remember words, how can you learn vocabulary so that you can use the words?Plan your vocabulary learning by choosing what to remember. Think about how you choose words to learn. Do you try to learn all the new words you find in a text? Do you think of your listener when you choose vocabulary? Will the person listening to you be able to understand this word or phrase? Here's an example. We have some words for weather here. All the phrases mean the same thing: It's raining cats and dogs;it's pouring with rain;it's raining stair rods;there is torrential rain;the rain is terrible. Now which ones are the best for you to remember? Well,“It's raining cats and dogs” is a nice expression —it's very funny and so it is easy to remember—but many people wouldn't understand you if you said this. Even in England, people don't usually say this. If you're thinking of talking to different people—and not just people from England—perhaps it's better to say “torrential rain” or “The rain is terrible” because they are easier for other people to understand.English has too many words for you to learn all of them, so you need todecide which words you want or need to learn. Think about the context(语境) or sentences with the words. Read the words when you see them, and try to use them.( )19. What's the passage mainly about?A. Listening to music.B. Speaking English.C. Learning vocabulary.D. Asking for advice.( )20. How does the writer describe the idea in Paragraph 2?A. By telling stories.B. By asking questions.C. By giving examples.D. By listing new words.( )21. How many ways of saying “It's raining very hard” can you find in the passage?A. Three.B. Four.C. Five.D. Six.()22.
