The Great Gatsby
F.Scott Fitzgerald (1896~1940),the author of The Great Gatsby, was one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century and created a new kind of woman character. The Great Gatsby was first published on April 10,1925. What's more, this story is actually a critique of the American Dream.
Of course it is a tragedy. Gatsby spent his whole life loving a woman who is not deserved to be loved. He was misled by his dream that was not related to reality. Unfortunately, when he was busy chasing his dreams, everything changed with time. To live a meaningful life, we should choose some worthy dreams to pursue. And in the process of fulfilling our dreams, we should always be conscious about what we really desire. In a word, only by pursuing the proper dreams can we finally get to deep springs of happiness.
