There was once a man who made friends with a dog,a cat,and an eagle.They made a pact to be friends,and swore an alliance:to be lasting,true,and faithful to their friendship.They shared a room and almost always ate at the same table.We agreed to share weal and woe,joys and sorrows,and sacrifice our lives for our friends when necessary.
One day out hunting,the four friends far away from home to the mountains.When they had walked for a long time and felt very tired,they stopped by a stream to rest,either lying or sitting in a drowsy state.Suddenly,out of the jungle came a bear,its mouth wide and menacing.
The cat ran to the forest,the eagle spread its wings,and the poor man was about to die.
Only dogs are faithful and brave.It flung itself at the beast and snapped at the bear.No matter how the bear fought and howled horribly,the dog would not let go.The dog endured great pain and suffering,and finally gave his life for friendship.
