Unit 8 Is there a post office near here?单元要览本单元的话题是“社区”,功能为“在街上询问和指出方向”。

通过本单元的教学,要引导学生掌握重点句型“Is/Are there.?”和“Where is/are.?”并学会运用本单元所学的词汇和句型在街道上问路或指路,养成乐于助人的良好品质。

本单元的教学内容见下表。

本单元的课时安排与具体教学建议如下:Period 1 Section A(la-lc)I.教学准备1.教师:准备课件、录音机、磁带,邮局、警察局、旅馆、饭店、银行、医院、街道和付费电话等事物的图片。

2.学生:画一张自己住所及周边环境的示意图,供上课使用。

Ⅱ.教学目标1.通过看图说话、师生问答、听录音、角色扮演等形式,引导学生掌握表示地点的名词post office,police station,hotel,restaurant,bank,hospital,street,pay phone和方位介词near。

2.通过师生问答、角色扮演等形式,指导学生学会“-Is/Are there...?-Yes,there is/are. No,there isn't/aren't.”等句型,并能用英语谈论、描述所居住的社区。

Ⅲ.教学重点1.表示地点的名词;2.there be结构。

V.教学步骤NStep l:Warming up建议教师向学生呈现一个flash图片,图片中出现一只猫和三个箱子,教师点一下flash图片的按钮,猫就跳到第一个箱子上,然后老师问学生“Where's the cat?”教师再点一下按钮,猫跳进第二个箱子里,老师再问学生“Where's the cat?”教师又一点按钮,猫跳到第三个箱子的底下,老师第三次向学生发问“Where's the cat?”通过这个热身活动,调动学生学习英语的积极性,激发他们的兴趣,并复习以前学习过的方位介词on,in与under。
