地喝完了,这客人还是安详地坐在那里。耿直又给他换了一壶热茶,说:“您不忙,就喝着茶,多歇息一会儿吧!”然后,耿直迅速转到后边 的厨房,把这个情况告诉了哥哥和姐姐。他俩也感到这事儿实在是有些奇怪呢。耿英有些不安地说:“莫不是来找麻烦的吧!”耿正说:“你 先别着急,继续做饭炒菜,我去和他攀谈几句,咱们见机行事也就是了!”又对弟弟说:“你去招待其他客人,这个人交给我吧!”说着,他 放下手里的活计,解了围裙擦把手出来,看到这个中年汉子还坐在柜台一侧的饭桌前安详地喝茶呢。不过,看他的面目和表情,却也并不像是 一个不良的人。再将店内店外观察一番,发现饭店门外的泡桐树上拴了一挂骡车。此时已经过午,来吃饭的人大多已经吃罢走了,剩下的几个 都是本镇上经常来光顾的老顾客了,并没有一个外地人。因此耿正估计,这挂骡车应该就是此人赶来的了。想到这里,他大大方方地来到这个 饭桌前,对这个汉子点点头,然后也坐了下来,轻轻地问他:“客官贵姓?何方发财?请问门外的那挂骡拉板车是您的吗?”这个中年汉子笑 了,说:“看来,您就是这个饭店的掌柜的了吧?我免贵姓李,名山人,从杭州来。此趟来景德镇,是给东大街上的‘正大百货铺’送丝绸的。 今儿个上午刚刚交完货,门外的那挂骡拉板车是我的。说实话,我是奔您饭店招牌上的‘南北’二字进来的!听您和那位小哥的口音,你们不 是本地人,倒很像是我的老乡呢!”耿正忍不住一阵惊喜,心想,来景德镇已经三年多了,还一直没有遇到一个老乡,听不到乡音,更没有办 法给娘稍书信回去。眼前这位面带善容,且真带有一些乡音,也自称老乡的人,莫非是天上掉下来的不成!惊喜之余,耿正也笑了,说:“我 们这个小饭店是兄妹三人开的,我们姓耿,我是哥哥。您说得对,我们不是本地人。我听您这口音也挺顺耳的呢!请问您的老家在哪里啊?” 经过攀谈以后得知,这姓李的中年汉子的老家在山西稷山,十几岁上随母亲来到杭州,与在那里做小本生意的父亲团聚。父亲所以给他起‘山 人’这个名字,就要他记住,自己是山西稷山人氏。当年,父亲在杭州一直都是做一些小本生意维持一家人的生计。但到了他这一辈上,看到 做那些个小本生意不但很繁琐,而且也赚不得大钱,就开始改做丝绸远途货运生意了。他之前也经常来景德镇送货的,但每一次都是从镇东的 大道进来,送了货之后就原路返回了。今日送完货后看看天色尚早,加上春光明媚气温宜人,感觉心情特别好,就想着在这景德镇上到处走走 看看,却是惊喜地发现了“南北小饭庄”。也正是这个招牌上的“南北”二字勾起了他无限的思乡之情。耿正听了很高兴,起身给这个李老乡 再倒上一杯热茶,说:“我们兄妹三个开这
