影响因子(Impact Factors)是衡量一个学术刊物地位的主要因素。

它是建立在科学引文（Scienc e Cited index）基础上的一种统计结果。

其主要依据就是一定时期（一般为2年）内某种学术刊物所载论文被引用次数与该刊物所载论文数的一个比例，比例越高，表明该刊所载论文被引用次数越多，从而说明该刊所载论文的影响较大，质量较好，水平较高，因而该刊的质量自然也高。

比如Cell，其影响因子值约40左右，而中国科学则为0.2左右。

当然，这只是评价一个学术刊物的几种综合指标之一，但其影响力却较大。
