This European Standard was prepared by the joint working group of Technical Committee CENELEC TC 86A,Optical fibres and optical fibre cables and Technical Committee CENELEC TC 46X, Communication cables.This European Standard has been prepared under the European Mandate M/212 given to CENELEC by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association.This draft will supersede HD 624.7 S1:1994.It is submitted to the Unique Acceptance Procedure.The following dates are proposed:-latest date by which the existence of the EN has to be announced at national level

-latest date by which the EN has to be implemented at national level by publication of an identical national standard or by endorsement
