Now time for the day's business news.
And when the markets in Europe closed a couple of hours ago, London's FTSE 100 was 96 points higher. In the
US, trading comes to a close shortly and the Dow Jones is up 30
points(屏幕上明明显示的是54,也不知道主播是怎么了), while the S 500 is flat.
And the Australian dollar is worth 105 US this morning. It'll also buy you 65 British pence and a dollar 27 New
Zealand.
Australia's third largest iron ore miner has entered a trading halt in the wake of a share price slide. Fortescue Metal
Group's shares have been placed in a trading halt until Tuesday when it is expected the compnay will make an
announcement about refinancing its dart(a slip of the tongue)... debt levels. The company's shares plunged almost
14 percent to just under 3 dollars on Thursday.
"It's surprising it wasn't taken earlier, because there was so much talk in marketplace that the company was having
problems."
FMG has already been foreced to wind back its expansion projects and sack about 1,000 employees because of
tumbling iron ore prices.
And the West Australia premier Collin Barnett has used his speech to a business conference to urge China to join
in the development of the Browse Gas Reserve and the Oakajee port and rail project. Mr Barnett says he's got a
political stake in both projects and is working hard to get them off the ground.

BBC news with Iain Purdon.
Egypt has urged the United States to take steps to prevent any repeat of the offense caused by an internet film
which mocked Islam sparking protest across the Arab world and beyond. The Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham
Kandil told the BBC that millions of people have been insulted and measures should be taken to prevent further
incidents.
We need to work out something around this because you cannot be, you cannot wait and see this happen again.
You know these are small group number of people that they (are) doing irresponsible work, and then everybody is
paying the price for these people's work. And we have to do whatever takes to stop this thing from happening
again.
Sudan has rejected a request from the United States to allow a unit of American marines onto its territory to boost
the security at the US embassy in Khartoum. The Sudanese foreign minister told the state news agency that Sudan
was capable of protecting all diplomatic missions itself. On Friday, crowds of people angered by the American
made anti-Islam film attacked the embassies of Germany and Britain in Khartoum and forced their way onto the
compound of the American embassy.
The security forces in South Sudan are investigating how they accidently shot at one of its own military vessels on
the River Nile sinking it leaving at least ten soldiers dead. A spokesman for the South Sudanese army Colonel
Philip Agu
er said that the boat had travelled past a checkpoint at night. It failed to respond to a request to stop and
was then fired on.
A South African bishop, Jo Seoka who has been mediating in the pay dispute of the Marikana mine, has told the
BBC police tactics used on Saturday may make the situation worse. Police fired rubber bullets and tear gas
canisters to disperse groups of strikers after officers raided hostels to search for weapons. The Anglican Bishop of
Victoria says he is concerned the government tough response to striking workers may spark an industrial revolt
across the country's platinum mining region.
The workers are now angry. They have been provoked and they had no intention of being violent. They were
committed to negotiations and therefore one can expect worse things to come.
A newspaper in the Republic of Ireland has reprinted topless photographs of the Duchess of Cambridge, wife of
Prince Williams who is second in line to the British throne. The pictures were taken without her knowledge while
she was on holiday in France. The spokeswoman for the British royal family said the Irish Daily Star could have
no motivation for this action other than greed. The newspaper's part owner said they were severing ties with the
paper. And the editor which says it won't be publishing the photos in Britain is Garrote Morgan.
I have never seen a more canton droid case of breach of privacy in my entire life. It is ridiculous for the decision to
publish this. I'm exasperated.
World news from the BBC.
Crowds of people in Spain and Portugal have taken part in big demonstrations against government austerity
measures. Tens of thousands of people streamed through Madrid to protest against cuts they say are hurting
Spaniards
on modest incomes while sparing the wealthy. These participants in the rally led by two main unions accused the
Spanish government of introducing cuts for mainly on the middle or lower classes while sparing the wealthy.
They are against what they are doing. The Spanish Prime Minister managed to do what no one has done before. He
managed to unite Spain against him of course. The ethos are taken is in a downward spiral. There are no jobs. There is no industry here.
Tens of thousands of protesters have marched through the Russian capital Moscow in the first big opposition rally
against President Putin for three months. They shouted anti-Putin slogans and demanded freedom for three women
from the punk band Pussy Riot who were jailed in August for mocking the President in a song performed at
Moscow's main cathedral. From Moscow, Daniel Sandford reports.
"Russia without Putin," they shouted, "and free our political prisoners". This is now the sixth huge march in
Moscow in less than a year. The protests started after the parliamentary elections last December which were widely
seen as fraudulent. There were fewer people on this march than the hundreds thousands also seen on the biggest
ones. But the numbers were
still significant.
The governing coalition in Ethiopia has elected the country's acting Prime Minister as its leader. Hailemariam
Desalegn is now the chairman of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front. He was a deputy Prime
Minister to Meles Zenawi who was Prime Minister for 21 years until his death last month.

The effects of that recession obviously still being felt today. And there are fears about the possibility of another
recession, if America goes off thing called a fiscal cliff. And that refers to some tax increase and government
spending cuts. That scheduled to happen at the end of this year, unless congress agrees on how to stop it.
Recessions are usually followed by periods of recovery, this time that recovery has been weak. Maggie Lake
explores this mystery.
In this off-Broadway production, the race is on to find the cold-blooded killer of W.Harrison Brant who lives in
Connecticut with his wife. In real life, another mystery has been unfolding for months. The case of who or what
killed the US economic recovery. Just like in this show, there is no shortage of suspects for what's slowing
economic growth.
Suspect NO.1, Europe.
"The biggest headwind the American economy is facing right now is uncertainty about Europe."
American firms have seen European sales plummet amid fears at Greek default could spark another global banking
crisis.
Suspect NO.2, congressional gridlock.
"If congress has passed the proposal the president submitted, there'd be a million more jobs today."
New stimulus for Democrats say, could have created jobs has been shut down amid Beltway bickering.
"They believe that government creats and spending creats jobs, we believe business and growth creates jobs."
Suspect NO.3, runaway national debt.
" This sixteen trillion dollar with a debt, serves like a wet blanket over our economy, scaring employees of all
size."
Fiscal uncertainty is the key reason why companies aren't hiring. And the fiscal cliff of automatic spending cuts
and tax increase that could hit next year, it's terrifying firms.
Suspect NO.4, energy crisis.
"The ever accelerating gasoline prices, this will break the back of the recovery."
High gas and hitting bills act like a direct tax on consumers. Taking away money that would otherwise be spent at
restaurants and stores. But one thing is certain, US growth has fallen from over 4% last year to under 2% today,
amid one of the weakest post-war recoveries on record.

From Washington, this is VOA News.
The Taliban claims responsibility for an attack on a British military base. And the filmmaker believed responsible
for a film offending the world's Muslins questioned by authorities. I am Marti Johnson reporting from Washington.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for an attack on a British military base in Afghan
istan that killed two U.S.
marines. A spokesman for the group said today the attack was in response to a film produced in the United States
that insults the Prophet Muhammad and because Britain's Prince Harry is serving at the base. NATO said militants
infiltrated Camp Bastion in Helmand province late Friday attacked it with small arms, rockets and suicide
bombers. The coalition says 18 militants died in the attack, one was wounded and captured. Officials said Prince
Harry, who is third in line to the British throne, was deployed at the base, but never in danger.
The man allegedly behind the private the film sparking demonstrations in the Muslin world has been questioned by
the U.S. government authorities in California. Police say Nikoula Basseley Nikoula was escorted from his West
Coast home early today. Details are emerging slowly about the filmmaker behind this film that has sparked
violence protests. Mike O'Sullivan reports from Los Angeles that film producer is thought to be an Egyptian
immigrant with a checkered background.
The man behind the inflammatory film is widely reported to be Nikoula Basseley Nikoula, a 55-year old immigrant
from Egypt who lives in suburban Los Angeles. He was convicted of bank fraud in 2010 and remains on parole.
The film, The Innocence of Muslims, was made under the name Sam Bacile, with variations used in the spelling of
the surname. Bacile is similar to one of the many aliases that Nikoula has used. The online video promoting the
film sparked protests in Egypt and an attack in Libya Tuesday that claimed the lives of U.S. Ambassador
Christopher Stevens and three embassy employees. Since then, protests set promotional video since an Arab
version was posted online this month. Mike O'Sullivan, VOA News, Los Angles.
After days of deadly violent protests over an anti-Islamic video posted on the Internet, calm is returning to parts of
the Muslim world. But there was a night of fighting between demonstrators and police that left one protester dead.
The clean-up again in Tahrir Square going on today, and a day of difficulty in Tahrir Square with plumes of smoke
going into the air as firefighters douse the fire there. In Sudan, which also saw deadly protesters, police patrolled
the streets of Khartoum Saturday while traffic passed by the U.S., British and German embassies, all showing signs
of damage. Other countries which had seen days of protests, including Tunisia and Yemen, were also quieter
today. At least four other protesters have died this weekend, including two in Tunisia, one in Lebanon, and one in
Sudan.
President Barack Obama has honored four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya killed at the
American consulate in Benghazi, Libya this week. In his weekly radio and Internet address, Mr. Obama said
America depends on people such as Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods, Sean Smith and ambassador Chris Stevens to
sustain the freedoms Americans. And he said those responsible for the
killings at the diplomatic post will be
brought to justice.
"Right now, we are doing whatever we can to protect Americans are serving abroad. We are in contact with
governments around the globe, to strengthen our cooperation, and underscore that every nation has a responsibility
to help us protect our people. We've moved forward with an effort to see the justice is done for those we lost, and
we will not rest until that work is done."
Mr. Obama said America's resolve will not be broken. And in the republican address, meantime, U.S.
representative Allen West of Florida accused the Obama Administration of weakening the military by not stopping
spending cuts set to take effect in January. The United Nations (international?) envoy to Syria has met with President Bashar al-Assad, and says the Syrian
crisis is getting worse. Lakhdar Brahimi met with Mr. Assad in Damascus today, their first meeting since Brahimi
took over as the U.N. and Arab league special envoy. The meeting took place as new reports came in of fighting
between Syrian forces and rebels as well as civilians outside Damascus and in Aleppo. Brahimi told reporters great
efforts will be made to end the conflict, but the crisis now poses a threat to the entire region and the world. Syria
maintains its forces are fighting Islamist terrorists. Syrian state media quoted Mr. Assad as telling Brahimi that the
crisis can only be stopped if countries that finance and train the terrorists are stopped.
Witnesses say South African police have used tear gas and rubber bullets on mine workers gathered in a
shantytown near Marikana, after carrying out early morning raids on worker hostels where they seized a number of
weapons. On Friday, the government vowed to crack down on illegal gatherings and strikers with weapons.
