“This is John, ” said Mr Turner. The boy standing next to him was tall, with a
friendly face. I noticed Adam and Chen give each other the thumbs (大拇指) up. That meant they were going to invite him to join the cool group. They smiled at him and he smiled back. Mr Turner always gave new students a buddy with the same hobbies as them. I was sure he wouldn't choose me. I wasn't one of the cool kids.
“Hyun, I want you to be John's buddy this term, ” said Mr Turner. Me? I couldn't believe my ears! Everyone in the class looked in my direction. Adam and Chen even looked unhappy.
John walked over to my desk and sat down beside me. He smiled at me. “Hello, ” he said in a confident voice.
“Hello, ” I replied, not looking at him.
All morning I could feel the boys in the cool group looking angrily at me, but John didn't seem to notice.
Finally the bell rang for a break. I had butterflies in my stomach. I knew that Adam and Chen were going to make fun of me in front of John, and that John would decide that he'd rather be their buddy.
Sure enough, as soon as we got outside, Adam and Chen swaggered (大摇大摆地走) up to us.
“Mr Turner says you're a good basketball player, John, ” said Adam. “How about playing with us during the lunch break? Hyun doesn't know anything about basketball. ”
“No, thanks, ” said John. “I'd rather play chess with Hyun, if he doesn't mind. Mr Turner says he's an excellent player. ”

Have you ever heard the sentence “You never get a second chance to make a first impression (印象)”?It may sound like an unusual piece of advice, but it is true—the first impression someone has of you when meeting you for the first time will probably influence how that person treats you or reacts to you in the future.
What is even more interesting is that the brain takes in all the information to create the first impression in about three seconds. When you meet someone for the first time, by the time you have stated your name or shaken hands, the other person has already formed an opinion about the kind of person you are.
So how do you make a good first impression? All things grown-ups tell you such as being polite, and being well-dressed are very important. However, the most important tool for making a good first impression is your face. Smiling, being responsive, and looking like you are happy will almost always leave a positive(积极的)impression on people, especially those who do not know you. Most people, generally speaking, are ready to smile back when they are smiled at.
Furthermore, smiling and being in a positive mood help you to know and get a better understanding of new things. This means that you can possibly be friendlier to people you do not know and be more creative and able to solve problems more quickly.
So if you ever need a reason to be happy, think about the wonderful people you might meet and impress them with a cheerful smile.
66. What does the underlined word “reacts”in Paragraph 1 probably mean in Chinese?
A. 回应
B. 道歉
C. 报告
D. 建议
67. What is the most important tool to leave good impressions?
A. Shaking hands.
B. Stating your name.
C. Dressing nicely.
D. Wearing a smile.
68. What would be the best title for the text?
A. The First Impression Does Count
B. Smiling Makes the First Impression
C. Manners Leave Deep Impressions
D. Impressions Decide Who You Are

Robots seem very new to most people. But they have a long history.
The first one was made by a Greek inventor. You may have seen robots in some films. The robots in these films are stronger, faster and cleverer than people. In real life, most robots are used in factories. They are used to do many dangerous, difficult or boring jobs. Some people can't look after themselves and robots are used to help them. For example, some people can't see. Many of these people use a dog to help themselves move around. This dog is called a guide dog. Scientists are making a robot to help them. In the future, robot dogs might take the place of these guide dogs.
Robots are also used in American hospitals. At one hospital, a robot takes meals from the kitchen to the sick people's rooms. It never loses its way because it has a map of the hospital in its computer system.

Most people like going on holiday. Holidays are certainly great ways to relax yourself and open your eyes. But before taking a trip, you have to decide whom to travel with—is it better with family, with friends or alone?
Holidays with family can be hard and there can be many arguments. In my own family, Dad always wants to go to a museum, Mom and sister want to shop, and I want to go to a cafe. It's hard for the family to agree with each other. Traveling with family can be very cheap or even free, though, if parents pay.
Holidays with friends are not usually cheap but money always plays an important role. It is normal for everyone to have different budgets(预算). However, it can be great fun. It is also good for learning more about your friends, and sharing experiences together. Also, traveling with friends is a way to strengthen(巩固) a friendship.
Traveling alone has advantages. You can choose what you want to do and it can also be a good opportunity to meet new people, especially when staying in hotels. Of course, traveling alone is not always good. You can be lonely and, sometimes, dull with no one to talk to. And, when at the bus station or airport, there is no one to look
after your suitcase when you want to go to the bathroom.
73. What do we have to decide before going on holiday according to the passage?(不
超过10个词)
