Good morning/afternoon, everyone! I’m number---- I'm very glad to stand here to interpret my lesson. Today, my topic is What are you doing for vacation My lesson consists of 8 aspects, they are the analysis o the teaching material, the analysis of the students, the analysis of the teaching aims, the analysis of the key and difficult points, the analysis of teaching and study method, the analysis of the teaching procedures, the analysis of the blackboard design.
Ⅰ. Analysis of the teaching material
Firstly, let’s come to the analysis of the teaching material. This lesson is a new unit. The topic of this unit is about vacation plans. It is from the PEP English book of junior high school, the first semester of grade 8, Unit 3. Students will learn some new words and some sentences pattern which can be used to express their future plans with others in their daily life.
Ⅱ. Analysis of the students
After analysis of teaching material, please allow me to talk about my students. My students are in grade 8. They have learnt English for many years, so they have get some basic skills of learning English. However, their listening and speaking abilities still need to be improved. So the teacher should provide them with more chances to practice listening and speaking.
Ⅲ. Analysis of the teaching aims
The next part is the analysis of teaching aims. I set three aims according to the New Curriculum Standard in English.
The first one is knowledge aims:
Students can know some new words such as hiking, far away, postcard, and master the sentenc es pattern“ What are you doing for vacation? When are you going? How long are you staying?”
The second one is ability aim:
Students can talk about their future plans in English freely, and their listening and speaking abilities can be improved.
The last one is emotional aims:
Through group work, students’ cooperative consciousness; Trough vacation, their enthusiasm for the local culture can be deepened.
Ⅳ. Analysis of the key and difficult points
By the analysis above, I set my key and difficult points as follows:
The key points: Learn to talk about future plans and master the target words and sentences pattern.
The difficult points: How to express their future plans using the sentences pattern flexibly.
Ⅴ. Analysis of teaching and study methods
The following part is the analysis of teaching and study methods. I will use Multi-media teaching method, Situational teaching method and Task based teaching method during my class.
Ⅵ. Analysis of the teaching procedures
Now, let’s come to the most important part of m y lesson, teaching procedures. This lesson is divided into 5 steps, they are greeting and lead in, pre-listening, while-listening, post-listening, summary and homework.
Step 1 Greeting and lead in
After greeting the students, I lead in the new lesson by a question. I will do like this: “Hello, everyone, I’m very glad to see you again. What are you doing now?” They will answer: “ We are having an English class now.” I keep on asking: “ Tomorrow is Saturday, so what are you doing tomorrow?” They answer: “ We are staying at home.” Then I lead them to my new class: “ So what about your vacation? What are you doing for vacation?” This time, they may have different answers like : I am going to swimming/go shopping……
Through asking and answering, my class atmosphere will be warmed and I can move to the new lesson naturally.
Step 2 Pre-listening
Then it comes to the pre-listening, in this stage, I will show the target conversation in book, tell students the conversation is about Toney and Lin Hui’s vacation plans, an d ask them to predict what Toney and Lin Hui are doing for their vacation. They may answer: “Maybe they are going to travel” When I ask where they think Toney and Lin Hui are going for travel, they may have different answers such as Beijing, Japan or any other places.
Through this step, students can have a preliminary understanding on the listening material, and can also arouse their interests in next step.
Step 3 While-listening
