2 One set of candidates are known as paraelectric materials. These act like batteries when they undergo a temperature change: attach electrodes to them and they generate a current. This effect is used in infra-red cameras. An array of tiny pieces of paraelectric material can sense the heat radiated by, for example, a person, and the pattern of the array's electrical outputs can then be used to construct an image. But until recently no one had bothered much with the inverse of this process. That inverse exists, however. Apply an appropriate current to a paraelectric material and it will cool down.3 Someone who is looking at this inverse effect is Alex Mischenko, of Cambridge University. Using commercially available paraelectric film, he and his colleagues have generated temperature drops five times bigger than any previously recorded. That may be enough to change the phenomenon from a laboratory curiosity to something with commercial applications.41. 孤立:isolate/alienate/insulate隔绝,排外,孤立->be alien to/insulate (-ior)绝缘,隔(体)47.be alike/be similar to 相同的,相似的48.indicate/show显示,指出,象征49. eliminate/lessen >< 消除/减少来源:壹壹英语50. not risensignificantly/stagnate 停滞不前的1. 2015年AP考试趋势预测及备考建议

Do you have trouble sleeping at night? Then maybe this is for you. When you worry about needing sleep and toss and turn trying to find a comfortable position, you're probably only making matters worse. What happens when you do that is that your heart rate actually increases, making it more difficult to relax. You may also have some bad habits that contribute to the problem. Do you rest frequently during the day? Do you get virtually no exercise, or do you exercise strenuously late in the day? Are you preoccupied with sleep, or do you sleep late on weekends? Any or all of these factors might be leading to your insomnia by disrupting your body's natural rhythm. What should you do, then, on those sleepless nights? Don't bother with sleeping pills. They can actually cause worse insomnia later. The best thing to do is drink milk or eat cheese or tuna fish. These are all rich in amino acids and help produce a neurotransmitter in the brain that induces sleep. This neurotransmitter will help you relax, and you'll be on your way to getting a good night's sleep. Until tomorrow's broadcast, this has been another in the series "Hints for Good Health."4.(a) prehistoric desert people.(b) migratory animals.(c) food supplies and tools.(d) growing plants.5.(a)george doesn't think sam will win.(b)sam isn't a strong competitor.(c)george looks as strong as ever.(d)sam is going to win the race.6.【听⼒】男⼒⼒⼒开始对话,男⼒说这个计划简直就是脑残,因为 1:现在⼒多数⼒直接⼒⼒⼒的电脑连接因特⼒查资料 2:即使需要⼒到图书馆订阅的 journal,也可以⼒⼒⼒的电脑联⼒找,不需要他们 3:新⼒本来就很忙了,heavy load of homework,还给他们布置作业,只会让他们更忙7.【听⼒】学⼒同意 (1)bring entertainment to students, 能丰富学⼒课余⼒活。

2.M: Hi, Pamela, how are you doing?

3. Sugar is freely traded in the world market. Assume that a country, Loriland,is a price taker in the world market for sugar.

Accidents often happen when cyclists look behind them or get a fright when they are passed at high speed," said Maurice Kwakkernaat, one of TNO's research scientists involved in the project."The onboard system technology has already been at work in the car industry," he said.'' More and more elderly people are using a bicycle, not only for short distances, but also for longer distances," Dutch Environment and Infrastructure Minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen told AFP."This type of bicycle is truly needed in the Netherlands because it will help us bring down the number of elderly people who are injured every year and allow them to continue to enjoy cycling," she said.In the Netherlands, bicycles outnumber the population of 17 million by at least one million and there are some 25,000 km of bicycle path in the country. Those statistics are set to grow as more and more people take to two-wheeled transport, leading to an increased risk of injury.Last year, 184 cyclists died in the country, of which 124, or 67% , were older than 65, according to the Central Statistics Office. The year before, 200 cyclists died, the majority of victims also being elderly. The current model weighs 25 kilograms but researchers are working on making the onboard systems smaller.28.The "intelligent bicycle is aimed to ______.A.protect the environment B.help reduce traffic pressureC.popularize the use of bicycles D.improve safety for elderly cyclists 29.Which part of the intelligent bicycle will vibrate when other cyclists approach it from behind?A.The saddle. There is no good evidence that an occasional, properly administered spanking is harmful in any way." says John Rosemond, an American who has won a huge following by calling for "parent power".It is pure nonsense to believe that restricting children to their room as a punishment could make them have negative feelings about the room and cause sleep problems.Mr.Rosemond tracks the overturning of traditional family values to the end of the Second World War.He blames the change of the American family into a child-centered, self-respect-oriented (以…为导向)unit on psychologists and social workers, who for 30 years have weakened traditional approaches.Previous generations of American parents raised children not by the book, but by self-evident truth, he says.Children should be seen and hot heard. If you make your bed, you'll have to lie in it.He says that those phrases contain time-honored understanding and principles that helped children to develop what we refer to as the "three Rs" of parenting: respect, responsibility and resourcefulness.32.Which is closest to the meaning of the underlined word "laissez-faire" in the second paragraph?A.Let it be.B.Go for it.C.Get it right.D.Take it easy.33.If his child did something wrong, Steve Biddulph would ______.A.give him a good beatingB.lock him up in a dark roomC.ask him to stand in a corner for hoursD.help him find out the problem and solution34.By mentioning the underlined part in the last paragraph, Mr.Rosemond .A.blames parents for ignoring children's rightsB.reminds parents to communicate more with childrenC.encourages parents to involve children more in family affairsD.explains how previous generations of parents raised children35.What does the passage mainly talk about?A.The causes of discipline problems.B.The best way to discipline children.C.Different opinions on ways of parenting.D.Differences between parents of different times.
