系动词的分类及特点
一、系动词的分类
按意义系动词可分为以下几类：
1.表示状态的连系动词：be，appear，seem，keep，remain，continue，stay，prove等。

如：
She appears very young. 她显得非常年轻。

His temperature seems to be all right. 他的体温似乎正常。

He made a fire in the room to keep warm. 他在房间内生火，是为了取暖。

The weather continued fine. 天气仍然很好。

This proved very helpful. 这证明是有帮助的。

2.表示感觉的连系动词：look，feel，smell，sound，taste等。

A paper tiger looks terrible, but in fact it is not.纸老虎貌视可怕，其实不然。

The medicine smells terrible. 这药闻起来挺可怕。

（这药难闻）
Ann felt very happy. 安感到非常高兴。

That sounds interesting. 那听起来很有趣。

3.表示转变的连系动词有become，fall，get，go，grow，turn等。

Beijing is becoming more and more beautiful. 北京变得越来越美丽。

Soon they fell asleep. 他们很快就睡着了。

The trees turn green and the flowers start to come out. 树变绿了，花儿开了。

二、系动词的特点
1. 系动词不用于进行时和被动语态。

I can’t go now. A lot of work _____to be done.

2.系动词都能跟形容词作表语，不能跟副词。

become，get，look，prove，remain，seem，turn后还能跟名词作表语。

become后跟名词作表语时，名词前要加不定冠词，turn 后的名词前不能加冠词。

3.我们要特别注意look, smell, taste 等词既可作系动词，也可作实义动词。

作系动词时后跟形容词作表语，作实义动词时则用副词来修饰这些动词。

4. appear, prove（证明是）, seem后面可以跟“to be+形容词”，to be也可以省略。
