And the students have to learn six to ten courses during their junior high school and senior high school. Usually, there will be forty to fifty students in a class , so the students may not get enough attention from the teachers during their road of growing and study. The education in China mostly focus on the exam, which limits the students’ development. Teachers and students are always trying their best to reach the higher score. There will be a lot of homework left for the students, which is a large burden for the students .Different from the Chinese system, there are six courses for the students in Grade ten and eleven and the Grade Twelve and Thirteen students only have to learn three course. This is a great difference compared with the ten courses in China. Only three courses allow the students to devote themselves heart and soul to what they learn. Different from the big classes in China, classes in Britain are the small ones which only include three to fifteen students. In such a small class, every student can get enough attention from the teachers . The classes are more relaxed , there also many discussion activities and social practice such as visiting the factory and museum. There are some homework assigned for the students but most of them are not compulsive必需的,强制的. Compared with the Chinese education, the teachers in Britain will lead the students to think independently and work out the problems by themselves, which is more beneficial for their development of the innovation 创造性.From the comparison above, we can easily find that the students under the British education system may be more interested in the subjects and they can learn in a more relaxing atmosphere. The students under the British education system can develop their personal ability by all sorts of the after-school activities, but Chinese students have to do countless homework, which aims at improving the students' abilities to take exams. In Britain, students have fewer classes than in China. In Britain, classes start at around 9.00 a.m. and finish at around 3.30 p.m. British students also have less homework than Chinese students. This gives British students more free time to go to school clubs. There are many different school clubs like football clubs, swimming clubs, film clubs and book clubs.⏹School uniforms in Britain are also different from some school uniforms in China. In Britain, students usually wear a skirt or trousers, a jacket and a tie. Some people think that this looks very smart, but other students do not think that their uniforms look very nice and they want to wear their own clothes to school.⏹In Britain, students study the same subjects as in China. They have to study Maths, English,Science, History, Geography, PE, Computer Science, Art and Languages. Just like in China,different students have different opinions about school in Britain. Some students think that school is very interesting, important and useful, but some students think it is boring and difficult.。

This test, in conjunction with others,indicates Americans start out with sufficient smarts—their fourth-graders score well—but they begin to slide by eighth grade, and sink almost to the bottom by high school.Don't blame school budgets. Americans shell out more than $440 billion each year on public education, and spend more per capita than any nation save Switzerland. The problem is that too many of their high school science and math teachers just aren't qualified. A survey in 2000 revealed that 38% of math teachers and 28% of science teachers in grades 7~12 lacked a college major or minor in their subject area. 教育与规纪REMARK:这篇文章再说教育与规矩,但是其中体现的中心思想(爱是上上计)才是需要借鉴的内容。
任何严肃的教育理论必须由两部分组成:生活目标的概念以及心理动力学的知识,如精神变化的规则。
在生活目标上持不同态度的人不可能希望在教育上达成一致。
纵观西方文明,教育机构受制于两种伦理观念:基督教和民主主义。
一旦加以认真考虑,这两种观念就互相不相容,正如德国明显表现出来的那样。
我认为,在其相异之处,基督教更可取,而在其相通之处,两者都是错的。
我所代之为教育目的的是文明,这一术语,就我所指,含有部分地属于个体、部分地属于社会的定义。
在个体方面,它含智力和道德品质:智力品质指某种最低限度的一般知识、自身的职业技能,以及事实论说的习惯;道德品质指公正、仁慈和基本的自制能力。
我要加上一种品质,既木属道德,也不属智力,但也许是生理学上的:热情与生活的乐趣。
在社会中,文明要求尊重法律、人与人之间的公正。
不以卷入持久地伤害人类共一部分为目的以及对于目的的手段之智力上的适应。
假如这些成为教育的目的,问题就在于心理科学思考如何才能实现这些目的,特别是何种程度的自由才有可能证明是最有效的。
关于教育中的自由问题,目前主要有三种思想派别,其差异部分在于目的,部分在于心理学理论。
有些人说,尽管孩子们可能怎样顽皮,他们应该是完全自由的;也有些人说,不管孩子们是如何听话,他们应该完全服从管教;另有些人说,孩子们应该是自由的,而有了自由,他们还应该始终好好听话。
这最后的一部分人比应有的还大得多;像成年人那样,孩子们假如是完全自由的,他们不会是尽善尽美的。
自由确保道德完善的信念是卢梭主义的残余,并不适用于对动物和孩子的研究。
持有这一信念的人认为,教育不应有任何绝对的目的,而应仅仅提供一种适合自发性发展的环境。
我不能赞同这一派别,在我看来,它过分个人主义了,过分地漠视知识的重要性。

THE GERMAN SCHOOL SYSTEMThree school typesAlthough the state does supervise the education system in Germany, most educational policy is decided upon by the individual federal states. State regulations mean that children must attend a form of school for at least nine years.How does it all start?Education in Germany begins with children starting Grundschule (primary school) at six years of age. Kindergarten (for children between the ages of three and six) is optional, although since 1996, each child in Germany is entitled to a place in a Kindergarten. After their last year of Grundschule, children can choose between three options. They can attend a Hauptschule, a Realschule or a Gymnasium, or a Gesamtschule, which combines all three types of school, with children being taught in different classes concentrating on different aspects of the curriculum.Hauptschule, Realschule, GymnasiumAt a Hauptschule, pupils must attend up until year nine, and year ten is voluntary, whereas at a Realschule, pupils must attend until year ten. A Hauptschule often leads onto further vocational training, and a Realschule also offers vocational training, although pupils with a high academic achievement can also transfer to a Gymnasium, the German equivalent of a grammar school / secondary school. Pupils leave a Realschule with a certificate called the Mittlere Reife. At a Gymnasium, pupils normally study for around nine years.
