一、中考英语阅读理解
1.根据短文内容,判断正误。

Dear Alan,
Guess what? I have a chance to choose my new place to live in. I am excited and a little nervous. Could you please give me some help?
I am not sure whether I will live in a house or in an apartment. On the one hand, a house will be too big for just one person, so maybe I should rent an apartment, On the other hand, if I rent a house, I could find someone else to share with me. The only problem is that a house full of people might be too noisy for me. I prefer to have my own space. The city has some nice apartments, but they are also too expensive. However, if I could find a two-bedroom apartment and get a roommate, that would make it more affordable. I just need to search for a roommate who is neat and quiet. You know I can not live with someone who is loud and messy. I do not have a car, so I also need to think carefully about the location. I probably need to look for somewhere near a bus stop or an underground station. That way I will have more time to study and spend less time travelling.
I'm looking forward to your reply.
Love,
Victor (1)Victor feels excited because he can decide where to live.

Earthquakes usually come without warning. What should you do if this happens to you? An earthquake is dangerous, but there are still things you can do to protect yourself.
Stay calm as the earth begins to shake. Your chances of survival in an earthquake go up if you can keep calm. Staying calm is not easy, but it can save your life.

If you are outside, get to an open area as fast as you can. Stay away from buildings and trees. If you are in a car, pull over to a place where there are no trees or tall buildings and stay in the car. If you are close to the sea, try to get as far away from the water as possible. Perhaps the only test score that I remember is the 55 I got when I was in high school.

Mr Right put my paper on my desk. There in big red numbers, circled to catch attention, was my score, 55! I let my head go down, and covered the score up quickly. Most people are afraid of sharks, but they usually do not know very much about them. For example, there are 350types of sharks, and all of them are meat esters. Some sharks are very big. The whale shark is 50 to 60 foot long. But some sharks are very small. The dwarf(侏儒)shark is only 6 inches(英寸)long. Sharks are 100 million years old. In fact, they lived at the same time as dinosaurs. Today, sharks live in every ocean on the earth, but most sharks live in warm water. They keep the oceans clean because they eat sick fish and animals. Most sharks have four to six rows of teeth. When a shark's tooth falls out, another tooth moves in from behind. Sharks do not have ears. However, they "hear" sounds and movements in the water. Any sound or movement makes the water vibrate. This helps sharks find food. Sharks use their large eyes to find food, too. Most sharks see best in low light. They often hunt for food at dawn (黄昏), in the evening, or in the middle of the night. Scientists want to learn more about sharks for several reasons. For example, cancer (癌症) is common in many animals, including people. However, it is rare (罕见的)in sharks.
