第二部分阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)

Everyone has their own learning style. Generally speaking, we gather information with our minds and bodies in different ways, such as seeing, hearing and doing. Then our brains deal with that information, organizing it and connecting it to things we are already aware of. In other words, our brains will deal with the information in different ways. Sometimes we think in pictures or words. Sometimes we remember details or the big pictures.
For different people, their learning styles are different too. One person may find it hard to make out the information in written forms but easy to know it immediately in an oral description. However, another person might find difficulties with the picture but the written message.
Now scientists say there exist seven basic learning styles.
● Linguistic: These people learn through listening, reading, speaking and writing.
● Logical: These people learn with formula(公式) and principles.
● Visual: These people learn by seeing what they are studying.
● Musical: These people learn well when information is presented through music.
● Kinesthetic: These people learn from movement and physical activities.
●Intrapersonal: These people learn best by linking new information directly with their own experiences.
● Interpersonal: These people learn well by working with others.
Therefore, if you know what learning style is your strength, you can balance your weakness, and get a more successful learning experience.

Long, long ago there were a lot of donkeys. The donkeys worked hard every day. They had no time to play or to relax, but they never felt appreciated for the work they did.
One day two donkeys got bored. They wanted to live a comfortable life, so the donkeys went to see a wise old man. They told him their problem. The wise old man agreed they worked too hard, and he wanted to help the donkeys.” I have an idea,” he said.
“What is your idea?” asked the donkeys.
“I will paint you and no one will know you are donkeys” said the man.
The man went off to find some paint and he returned in just a matter of minutes. He had two pots of paint. One pot was filled with white paint, and the other black paint.
The old man first painted them white, and then painted black stripes(斑纹) over the white paint. When he finished, the donkeys did not look like donkeys at all. “You no longer look like donkeys”the old man said. “Everyone will be fooled. I will call you something else, zebras.”
The zebras went to a field to eat grass. Now they did not have to work.
Soon, other donkeys saw the zebras. They asked the zebras where they came from. When the zebras told the donkeys their secret, the donkeys all rushed to see the old man.
"Please make us into zebras, too,” they pleaded. So the wise old man painted more donkeys. As he did, more and more donkeys came.

It’s generally believed that people act the way they do because of their personalities and attitudes. They recycle their garbage because they care about the environment. They pay $5 for a caramel brulée latte because they like expensive coffee drinks.
It’s undeniable that behavior comes from our inner dispositions(性情), but in many instances we also draw inferences about who we are, as suggested by the social psychologist Daryl Bern, by observing our own behavior. We can be strangers to ourselves. If we knew our own minds, why should we need to guess what our preferences are from our behavior? If our minds were an open book, we would know exactly how much we care about the environment or like lattes. Actually, we often need to look to our behavior to figure out who we are.
Moreover, we don’t just use our behavior to learn about our particular types of character--we infer characters that weren’t there before. Our behavior is often shaped by little pressures around us, which we fail to recognize. Maybe we recycle because our wives and neighbors would disapprove if we didn’t. Maybe we buy lattes in order to impress the people around us. We should not believe that we always behave as a result of some inner disposition.
Whatever pressures there can be or inferences one can make, people become what they do, though it may not be in compliance with their true desires. Therefore, we should all bear in mind Kurt Vonnegut’s advice: “We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”
32. According to the passage, personalities and attitudes are commonly believed to .
A. determine one’s behavior
B. reflect one’s taste
C. influence one’s surroundings
D. result from one’s habits
33. Which of the following would Daryl Bern most probably agree with?
A. A kind person will offer his seat to the old.
B. One buys latte out of true of coffee.
C. One recycles plastics to protect the environment.
D. The return of a wallet can indicate one’s honesty.
34. What can be inferred from the underlined sentence in the passage?
A. We fail to realize our inner dispositions.
B. We can be influenced by outside pressures.
C. Our behavior is the result of our true desires.
D. Our characters can shape our social relationships.
35. What does the author mainly discusses in the passage?
A. Personalities and attitudes.
B. Preferences and habits.
C. Behavior and personalities
D. Attitudes and preferences.
