Dear students, teachers, and parents,。

It is my great honor to be here with you today to discuss the important issue of left-behind children.
Left-behind children are a growing problem in China. According to a report by the China National Commission on Children and Adolescents, there are currently over 61 million left-behind children in China. These children are typically left in the care of grandparents or other relatives while their parents migrate to urban areas in search of work.
There are a number of factors that contribute to the problem of left-behind children. One factor is the hukou system, which restricts rural residents from accessing social services in urban areas. This makes it difficult for
parents to bring their children with them when they migrate to cities.
Another factor that contributes to the problem of left-behind children is the lack of affordable childcare in
rural areas. Many grandparents and other relatives are unable to provide adequate care for young children. This can lead to developmental problems and other negative outcomes for left-behind children.
The problem of left-behind children has a number of negative consequences for both the children and their families. Left-behind children are more likely to experience poverty, food insecurity, and health problems. They are also more likely to drop out of school and to engage in risky behaviors.
The problem of left-behind children is a complex one, but there are a number of things that can be done to address it. One important step is to reform the hukou system so that rural residents have the same access to social services as urban residents. Another important step
is to invest in affordable childcare in rural areas.
We must also work to change the attitudes and beliefs that contribute to the problem of left-behind children. We need to educate parents about the importance of keeping
their children with them when they migrate to cities. We also need to challenge the idea that grandparents and other relatives are always able to provide adequate care for
young children.
The problem of left-behind children is a serious one, but it is one that we can solve. By working together, we
can create a future in which all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
