12月英语六级作文预测题目范文12月英语六级作文预测题目范文1三人生哲理:人生Directions:For this part you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the remark “The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.” You can give examples to illustrate your point and then explain what you will do to make your life more meaningful. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.预测范文The famous saying “The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it” is rather thought-provoking, which tells us the real meaning of life. It is contemporary social issue in China with common interests and permanent value. In my view, there are good reasons to undertake meaningful things that exert positive and profound influence on the society, such as protecting the environment, helping vulnerable groups as well as promoting education. To illustrate, Abraham Lincoln never wavered in his devotion to democracy and equality, whose life has become an inspiration in the United States and throughout the whole world. His life, though limited, definitely lasts longer, and is a life worth living. Likewise, a young person who aspires to be a great writer might decide to buy some literary books or spend weekends writing and refining his works. Without any aspiration, he mightsimply end up spending all his spare time surfing online or playing Internet games. In brief, a meaningful life serves to motivate and guide us in our daily lives. It provides us with the focus and direction that enable us to work towards accomplishing a special goal, objective or task.参考译文“将生命花在比生命更长远的事上,就是尽用生命”这一说法相当发人深思。

1. 低碳生活(话题来源:哥本哈根气候大会)Direction: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay on the topic of “Low-carbon Life”. You should write at least 150 words following the outline given below:1、低碳生活方式受到人们的欢迎2、低碳生活的意义3、我们应该……Recently, low-carbon becomes a high-frequency and fashionable word which gets the greatest concern in the world. Low-carbon life means a kind of lifestyle in which people do their best to reduce energy consumption and carbon greenhouse gas emissions. It is of vital importance for the whole world to practice the low-carbon lifestyle. Firstly, our natural resources and energy are limited; therefore, it is absolutely necessary for us to save and protect them. Secondly, in order to protect our environment from serious greenhouse effect, we need a low-carbon emission. It is low-carbon life that enables our next generations to live a better and superior life. What we should bear in mind is that the earth is common home. Thus, every one is well advised to practice this lifestyle and there are several ways for us to do this. Firstly, every one is expected to cultivate their awareness of saving energy. Then, we are also hoped to help our families and friends to live a low-carbon life. Only by doing so can we hope to create a world where all humans enjoy a clean and tidy environment. (185words)2.世博主题:Better City, Better Life(太长,用时需改短)Nowadays, with the fast development of economy of the world, many cities become bigger and bigger and many modern cities are appearing. Thus, we face the complex problem: Urbanization. Urbanization has been a subject of heated discussion for a long time. Some people are in favor, while others are opposed. In my opinion, urbanization benefits human beings rather than do harm to them. Two reasons may account for my conclusion.Firstly, urbanization enriches our life.We can imagine what will happen without convenient traffic system, without big department stores, without KTVs and many other entertainments? To some extent, it is impossible for human beings to live in this world. Urbanization make it possible for us to enjoy our life more than before, Also, urbanization quicken the pace of science, especially in the communication field, in the early time, if we want to connect with our family members or friends, the only way we can choose is writing letters. But urbanization changed this situation, we can talk with the friends in the foreign countries with our any difficulties through the Internet, we gain whatever information we need on the internet. These conveniences are brought by the urbanization.Secondly, urbanization also raise our country economy. As we all know, the policy of Reform and Opening give our country a golden opportunity to develop our economy, we have a direct feeling about the dramatic increasing of our living standard, many productions that we cannot afford in the past time can be owned in today. This phenomenon proves that urbanization benefits our life basically. With the fast step of urbanization, many job opportunities are supplied in the occupation market which makes many rural migrant workers get a solid work in the urban area. They also contribute to the economicdevelopment in the urban area. These prosperities are definitely brought by the urbanization.I live in Shanghai, and it is a typical big city in China. I found that we also have many negative sides of urbanization. For instance, we can talk to the friends thousands miles away, but we don’t know our neighbors in the high-rises; many migrant workers do not enjoy the same profits and rights as the permanent unban residents and this will make their living without and insurance system. But we don’t need to be so pessimistic of the situation at hand. It is evident that the advantages of urbanization outweigh the disadvantages. What we should do is to remain the positive side , meanwhile to conquer the negative side. Our government will also introduce many effective policies to narrow this contradictory. So we have enough reasons to believe the situation will become better and better so that we can reach our aim ”better city, better life ” !.3. 王长喜预测作文:校园安全问题Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay on the topic Campus Security. Top students shall choose the top schools high on the list and vice versa.Complicated issue becomes easy numerical comparison, yet the real problem stays there, can the numerical ranking tell you the status quo of these universities? Are these “authorities” producing the ranking authoritative enough to make the judgments? Let’s take a serious look at the issue before we jump to the conclusion whether university ranking is good or bad.We have to admit that because of historical reasons, most of the 1950s-1960sparents were denied higher education and this cruel fact makes them even more eager to give their children high education even though they have no idea of what university education is all about. The ranking helps them to make decisions based on their simple idea of better ranking means better jobs in future, and therefore better income! It is pathetic that they interpret knowledge and wisdom in such a way yet it is even more pathetic that there are so-claimed well-educated people making up all the ranking and get the ranking published to mislead them!2010年12月英语六级写作范文It is a not-uncommon social phenomenon that the university rankings are especially prevalent in our country. For example, universities are measured by scale, academic achievements or the number of papers published in famous magazines. As to this issue, opinions vary from person to person. Some people hold that university ranking dramatically promotes the development of university in various fields. But others maintain that university ranking also leads to some undesirable consequences such as academic fraud even to deceive people. As far I am concerned, every coin has two sides. On one hand, University ranking does encourage the development and growth of colleges. Such growth– the grand libraries, splendid stadiums and fruitful academic achievements, has caught theattention of the world. We’re impressed by these signs of our education’s tour to the 21st century. On the other hand, we have to pay attention to an unexpected phenomenon that some people have ignored the objectivity of university ranking. Take South university of science and technology of china for an example, this university occupies the second position in some university rankings. In those rankings, it is superior to Peking University and Tsinghua university. In a word, we should inspire the advantages of university and abandon its disadvantages.考试吧点点版:2010年12月英语六级考试作文范文1、当今社会,高校排名很流行2、个人看法不同3、我自己的观点Nowadays , university and college ranking has become increasingly popular thoughout the nation. 根据所给提纲,本文应包含以下内容:描述年轻人缺乏拼搏精神的现状;分析导致这一问题的原因;说明大学生应该如何加强拼搏精神。

【参考范文】Young People Should Have Combatant SpiritNowadays, quite a few people believe that combatant spirit is essential for one’s success in today’s competitive world. However, some young people today think nothing of this spirit which,in their opinion, is only needed in revolutionary age. Even worse, when facing the difficulties, they will choose to yield or cower without making any efforts. There are many factors resulting in young people’s lack of combatant spirit. Among these, comfortable living environment plays a vital role. Today’s parents provide nearly every thing to the children, which results in the children’s lack of motivation for striving on their own. What’s more, the present education system does not pay much attention to help the young people build up the combatant spirit.Considering the importance of combatant spirit, I think it is high time to take effective measures to strengthen young people’s combatant spirit. Above all, parents shouldn’t spoil their children and should ask their children to strive for what they intend to obtain. Moreover, schools should build a better environment for students to develop their struggle and aggressive spirit. Besides, young people themselves should adjust their minds and follow the examples of those people in history or around us who achieve their success under the stimulation of combatant spirit. In a word, it is an urgent thing for today’s young people to enhance combatant spirit.。

12月英语六级作文范文It is believed that the computer is bringing the world into a brand new era. At the time the computer was invented, scientists, marveling at its calculating speed, felt that they had created a miracle. Nowadays, the function of the computer is no longer confined to calculation; it permeates people’s daily lives and has become an inseparable part of human society.People become so heavily dependent on computers that it is hard to imagine the life without computers. Therefore, some people are worried that “The real danger is not that the computer will think like man, but man will think like the computer.”Their concern does make sense. Indeed, some people spend such a long time working on computers that they have few interactions with people in real life. According to a research, too many hours in front of a computer may lead to a poker face and interpersonal isolation. This fact should arouse our attention, because unlike computers, human beings are social creatures that need emotional connections with others.Yet, it is also unnecessary for us to be overwhelmed by the negative impacts of computers. After all, we humans are intelligent and will be able to figure out better ways to make improvements.第 1 页共 1 页。

2010年12月六级真题My View on University Ranking1.现在有很多高校评级2.人们对此看法各异3.你认为Nobody could have failed to notice the fact that university ranking has gained increasing popularity --- institutions home and abroad are always interested in it; newspapers and magazines are fond of carrying the news. Unfortunately, it has also given rise to some problems never thought of. Confronted with the dilemma, should we carry on the practice? When it comes to this question, people‟s views vary from one to another.People who support ranking have their reasons. They are convinced that it can stimulate people, teachers and students alike, to work harder so that they can climb on the ladder or at least maintain their position. In this way, universities can produce more talents and knowledge demanded by our society. Also, supporters of university ranking maintain that it can act as a guide for employers when they decide where to find right employees..But others may not agree. These people would argue that university ranking might force universities to care more about their position in the ranking but not about research that they are expected to do. For instance, it is often reported that some professors spend more time in bribing than in labs in order to have an edge in the fierce competition. Another good case in point is that some scholars even sacrifice their integrity to plagiarize under the pressure of “publish or perish”.Who is right? Of course both sides have their reasons. As far as I am concerned, we might as well stop the practice for the good of universities and society. Universitiesare a place for free academic study. Only when scholars are free to in their pursuits, can they make contribution to society.2010年6月英语六级Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled Should Parents Send Their Kids to Art Classes? But the reality is not always the case. The rights above are being deprived by the various kinds of so-called art classes. Some people hold that the classes do more good than harm to the development of the children. To start with, their sense of art can be cultivated and accumulated. In addition, it is the desire of the access to high-level schools that enables the children to attend such series of art classes. The other side of the view, however, is quite the opposite. Firstly, the so-called classes are, to some extent, not the best choice for children to attend, which will …destroy‟ their real art cells. What‟s more, the unscientific trend of attendance of the art classes will, perhaps has, put some families into economic troubles. As for me, the advantages and drawbacks of the phenomenon have never failed to appeal to me. It is admitted that attending some art classes will surely assist thechildren to develop in an all-round way. Obvious as the positive influence of the action is, the drawbacks can not be ignored, either. It might give rise to the missing of the golden time to discover the real interests and potentials the children should develop.2006年6月英语四级作文及范文An anouncement for a voluntary program:1、校学生会将组织一次暑假志愿者活动,现招募志愿者2、本次志愿者活动的目的,内容,安排等3、报名联系方式The student union is launching a campaign against drunken driving in the city and participation in the activity will be totally on voluntary basis. Some prefer to go to a fancy restaurant to enjoy a gourmet meal; some intend to go on a vacation to an incredibly exotic destination for a novel and thorough relaxation; others may have even more post-modern notions, like go bunging, hiking, or cycling for entirely new different experiences, forgetting all about the Spring Festival. To me, the Evening Get-Together is supposed to be here to stay. It may not remain a must for all people, but it can bring us a strong sense of festivity and serve as an alternative among the variety of holiday activities. Besides, with such a gathering, family members will have a perfect opportunity to enjoy more fun and happiness, for nowadays most people are so engaged in their daily businesses that they can rarely find any extra time to stay with their family, which, if not properly adjusted, might add further to the already worsening situation of the values of Chinese families.2007年6月四级真题:申请加入一个社团An announcement to welcome students to join to a clubWelcome to our club1、本社团的主要活动内容2、参加本社团的好处3、如何加入本社团There is a general discussion today about the issue of clubs in universities. As a result, elective courses are available not only for excellent academic performers but also for students about the average level.Certainly, students have different reasons to choose their own electives. For some, practical skills are the essence of college education, and therefore, courses on computer science, marketing, and finance are highly preferred. On the other hand, others may hold the idea of liberal education and electives concerning literature, history, and philosophy are the most welcome.Take me as an example: being a disciple of free education, I stand for the notion that university is not a place for survival skills, but a palace of knowledge and critical reasoning. Although my major is chemistry, the electives I attend most frequently are English literature, an Introduction to Classic Music, and Different Schools of Western Painting. In the era of information and technology, increasing numbers of people are fond of taking part in various recreational activities (ranging from watching TV, playing cards to surfing the Internet and so on).Yet, no one could fail to notice both the favorable and unfavorable influence that recreational activities bring to people, because even Achilles has his weakness. On the one hand, recreational activities are good to people's health, both physically and mentally. For instance, sports and dancing can keep people fit, and surfing the Internetcan bring people a lot of information and knowledge. On the other hand, recreational activities might be harmful if people are addicted. Spending too much time on recreational activities will seriously affect people's normal lives, especially work and study. From my perspective, we should pay more attention to the advantages of various recreational activities. Meanwhile, we might as well learn how to avoid some negative effects of recreational activities when making the most of them.2008年12月Limiting The Use of Disposable Plastic Bags1.一次性塑料袋曾被广泛的使用2.造成的问题3.限制使用的意义Disposable plastic bags were once widely used in China. When we went shopping at supermarkets and departments stores, shopping assistants often provided free plastic bags for our convenience. For a while, life without them seemed unimaginable for most of us.However, disposable plastic bags do bring severe damage to our environment. Costumers usually threw them away after use, and because they are thin and hard to decompose, these plastic products will exist for a long time. This is an immediate threat to our earth and water.Nowadays, the government has passed relevant regulations for limiting the use of disposable plastic bags: they are not free any more. In some shopping places, in order to invoke the public awareness of environmental protection, plastic bags are offered in a much higher price. As a result, people are changing their behavior: paper and clothing bags that vanished for a long time come back to our daily life. It is true that by limiting its usage, everyone in this society contributes some effort to the improvement of the environment.2009年6月Free Admission to museums越来越多的博物馆免费对外开放的目的是什么?也会带来一些问题;你的看法?Free Admission to Museums?Nowadays, a lot of museums open to the public for free, and a lot of people are attracted to go there. However, it also brought some unexpected problems. At present, people can get knowledge from many ways like libraries, internet, and other sources. However, there is also much information that people cannot get from the above ways. Free admission museums supply more chances for the public to get knowledge that cannot be easily accessed. People can learn more things about history, art, science and so on. Although, this kind of policy brought much convenience to the public, it also caused some problems. For example, beggars and shabby-dressed people may enter the museums and cause bad reputation among the public; along with the increasing number of people getting into museums, there will be no enough service establishments to meet the requirements; besides, under the policy of free admission, the cultural relics displayed there may be inevitably broken or damaged by the crowds. Moreover, the crowds in the museums may also cause security problems. In my opinion, free admission is a good policy for the public, and it brings the public much convenience. But, we should also take possible measures to protect the cultural relics and maintain the order of spot. Besides, we can also take the policy of giving free admission first to children, then to the retired person, and last to the public.I think, this may help to solve the problems.2009年12月Create a green campus1.建设绿色校园十分重要。

To some degree, it has become part of our daily life. We can do a lot of things online, such as searching for information and communicating with friends far and near. But recently another helpful online activity has become very “in”. That is online education. Why could online education be so popular within such a short period of time? Among other reasons, the quick development of the internet should be an essential one, which makes all our dreams of attending class in the distance possible.Another underlying reason is the quick development of both society and technology. Many people think this is a fashionable life style, while other people object to this kind of consumption style.Tho se who support “the moonlight clan” think that “the moonlight clan” knows how to enjoy life and have a higher life quality. Some parents believe that this is love, however, it is only to destroy children’s independence thoroughly. For the future of the next generation, more efforts should be made by parents to help their children to beindependent. The fundamental one is to cultivate the awareness, namely, the importance and necessity of being independent, which is supposed to begin from childhood. Children should be taught that no one can be stronger and more helpful than themselves in this world. The quality of independence is so indispensable for us that parents had better act as a tutor, not a dictator. And only with parent’s trust, can the next generation accumulate confidence step by step.

1Topic: Tell the life story of a famous person who inspires you. Include important events, challenges they overcame, and lessons you learned from their example. My Biggest Hero: The Amazing Life of Amelia EarhartAmelia Earhart is the bravest lady who ever lived! She was the first woman to fly all by herself across the Atlantic Ocean. Can you imagine doing something that scary and hard? I can't! But Amelia wasn't scared of anything. She just went for it with her little plane and made history.Amelia was born way back in 1897 in Kansas. Even as a kid, she loved being outside, climbing trees, and getting dirty instead of playing with dolls like other girls. Her family didn't have much money, but they let Amelia be herself and do whatever she wanted. I think that's really cool of them. A lot of parents back then probably wouldn't let their daughter act like such a tomboy. After watching some daring pilots at an air show, Amelia decided she just had to learn how to fly planes herself! So at age 24, she took her very first flying lesson. I'll bet that was the most exciting day ever for her. From then on, she was hooked on flying. Amelia worked hard at all kinds of jobs to pay for her flying lessons and her own planes. Nothing was going to stop this gal from soaring through the skies! In 1928, Amelia got super famous for being the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean...but not as the pilot. She was just a passenger on that flight. Still, it was an unbelievable thing for a woman to do back then. The pilot got scared during a storm and Amelia had to keep him calm so they could land safely. How brave is that?! No wonder people started calling her "Lady Lindy" after that hero pilot Charles Lindbergh. But Amelia wasn't satisfied just being a passenger. Nope, she wanted to be the first lady pilot to fly that huge ocean all by herself. After lots of practice and saving up enough money, on May 20, 1932, she took off from Newfoundland, Canada heading for Ireland. Flying all alone over the dark, choppy ocean for almost 15 hours must have been so scary! But Amelia was as tough as nails. She battled fog, ice, and sleep deprivation to safely land in a pasture in Ireland. When the farm folks saw herplane, they couldn't believe their eyes! A woman had just flown across the entire Atlantic from North America all by herself. Amelia Earhart was a celebrity overnight!People went absolutely nuts for her after thatrecord-breaking flight. Amelia wrote best-selling books and gave lectures all over the world. She used her fame to encourage women to study science, explore the outdoors, and shake off old-fashioned attitudes about what girls could and couldn't do. Amelia showed the whole world that women can be just as daring and accomplished as men.In 1937, Amelia set her sights on one last huge challenge: flying all the way around the whole world at the equator. Her daring journey started in California on March 17th. She and her navigator made several stops along the way in places like Hawaii, Australia, and New Guinea. But on July 2nd, after taking off from New Guinea, Amelia's plane simply vanished over the Pacific Ocean somewhere near Howland Island. Nobody knows for sure what happened to her, but many experts think she must have run out of gas and crashed into the sea. What a heartbreaking end to such an extraordinary life of courage and nonstop adventure.Even though she disappeared without a trace, Amelia Earhart never stopped inspiring people. She showed that women can beleaders, explorers, and daredevils just like men. I think every young girl should hear her story and know that you don't have to follow stupid old-fashioned rules about how you're supposed to act. Be brave, believe in yourself, and never let anybody tell you there's something you can't do just because you're a female. That's the most important lesson I've learned from the amazing life of Amelia Earhart, my biggest hero of all time!篇2Writing Prompt: Write a biographical narrative essay about a famous person you admire. Tell the story of an important event or accomplishment from their life. Use vivid details to describe the events and explain why this person inspires you.Model Essay:My Biggest Hero: Neil ArmstrongNeil Armstrong is my biggest hero ever! He was the first person to walk on the moon. How cool is that?! Just imagine - he left Earth and traveled all the way to the moon in a tiny little spacecraft. Then he climbed down a ladder and took those first steps on this mysterious alien world. His footprints will be up there on the moon forever!Armstrong and his crew blasted off aboard the huge Saturn V rocket on July 16th, 1969 as part of the famous Apollo 11 mission. Three days later, the little lunar module separating from the main spacecraft and began its descent to the surface of the moon. Armstrong was the mission commander so he got to be the first one onto the moon's surface.I can picture it so clearly in my mind... Armstrong opened the little latch and began climbing down the ladder. He had to be so careful because one wrong move and he could have drifted right off into space! Finally he reached the bottom rung and announced those legendary words: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." How amazing is that? After climbing down and taking his first steps, Armstrong spent almost three hours exploring and taking photographs. He picked up some rocks and soil samples to bring back for scientists to study. He used special tools and planted an American flag in the surface to mark where they had landed. The whole time Armstrong could only sort of hop and bounce along because the moon's gravity is so much weaker than Earth's. It must have felt like being an astronautanda kangaroo at the same time!I think Armstrong was incredibly brave and tough to do something so dangerous and difficult. Just getting to the moon took unbelievable skill and courage. But then actually climbing out of the safety of the spacecraft and walking around on an alien world? That's the bravest thing I've ever heard of! Armstrong could have drifted off into space, fallen down a crater, or had his air supply run out at any time. But he stayed completely calm and in control the whole time. What a hero! After carefully exploring the surface for almost a day, it was time for Armstrong and his crewmate Buzz Aldrin to lift off and rejoin the main spacecraft to begin their journey back home. Can you imagine how they must have felt leaving the moon behind and starting that long trip back to Earth? I would have been so sad to leave but also so relieved to be headed back home safely. The return trip took three more days of just drifting through the blackness of space before they finally landed safely in the ocean. When Armstrong and the crew emerged from their spacecraft after splashing down, they had to spend weeks in quarantine in case they had brought any moon germs or aliens back with them! That must have been pretty boring after such an incredible adventure. But Armstrong didn't seem to mind too much. To him, the whole mission was just doing his job as anastronaut and serving his country, which made him a humble and inspiring person as well as a hero.Ever since then, Armstrong has been a truly legendary figure admired by people all over the world. In the decades since the moon landing, twelve other astronauts have walked on the lunar surface but Armstrong will always be remembered as the first. He went where no human had ever gone before! No dream was too outrageous, no frontier too distant for this incredibly skilled, brave, and humble man.I dream of one day becoming an astronaut myself so I can have adventures and explore strange new worlds just like Neil Armstrong did. He proved that even the most seemingly impossible dreams can come true if you work hard, stay dedicated, and never give up no matter how difficult or scary things become. Whenever I feel scared of trying something new or challenging, I remember Armstrong's "one small step" and I realize that everything is possible if you take it one little step at a time. He inspires me to always aim for the stars and never let anything hold me back from achieving my biggest goals and dreams.Neil Armstrong is a timeless hero who dreamed the impossible dream, and actually lived it! I look up to the night skyand feel proud that humans have set foot on another celestial body. And every time I see the moon, I think of Armstrong's "one giant leap" and smile, feeling grateful for his courage and dedication that allowed all of humanity to take those first small steps into the vast frontier of space. Neil Armstrong will always be my biggest hero!篇3"My Hero: A Story About Jane Goodall"Hello, my name is Timmy and I'm going to tell you about my biggest hero, Jane Goodall. She's an amazing lady who studied chimpanzees in Africa for over 60 years! I think she's the coolest scientist ever.Jane was born in London, England on April 3rd, 1934. Even as a little kid, she was obsessed with animals and loved reading books about them. Her favorite animal was the chimpanzee. When she grew up, she didn't have enough money to go to college. So instead, she worked as a secretary and waited for her chance to make her dream come true. Finally, in 1957 when Jane was 23 years old, she got an amazing opportunity. A famous paleontologist named Louis Leakey invited her to study chimpanzees in Tanzania, which is acountry in Africa. Even though Jane didn't have a college degree, Louis could tell she was really smart and passionate about animals. So off she went on an adventure! When Jane first arrived at the Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania, she had a lot to learn. She had to figure out how to get close to the chimpanzees without scaring them away. It took a long time, but slowly the chimpanzees got used to her being there. Jane sat and watched them for hours every day, carefully writing down everything they did in her notebooks.Through her studies, Jane made some incredible discoveries about chimpanzees. She saw them make and use tools, which scientists didn't think animals could do before. She also saw them hunt and eat meat, wave to greet each other, and have wars with other chimpanzee groups over territory. These were behaviors that seemed very human-like.Jane named all the chimpanzees she was watching so she could keep track of their lives. Her favorite was a chimpanzee she named David Greybeard because of his gray hair. He was the first chimpanzee to trust Jane and let her get close. Some of the other famous chimpanzees she studied were Figan, Gombe, Gilka, and Humphrey.Even though Jane loved the chimpanzees, it wasn't always easy living in the African forests. She had to deal with things like chimpanzees throwing rocks and branches at her, heavy rainstorms, and being charged by elephants and hippos! But Jane never gave up because she was so passionate about learning from the chimpanzees. After studying at Gombe for many years, Jane realized the chimpanzee habitat was being destroyed by loggers cutting down trees. So she started writing books and traveling the world to tell people about how important it is to protect chimpanzees and their environment. Thanks to Jane's efforts, more national parks were created in Africa to keep chimps safe.Jane Goodall is now 89 years old, but she is still hard at work. She runs a charity called the Jane Goodall Institute that helps protect chimpanzees and their habitats. Jane has inspired millions of people around the world to care about animals and the environment through her groundbreaking research, books, speeches and movies. To me, Jane Goodall's life shows that you should never give up on your dreams, no matter how impossible they might seem. She overcame so many challenges to become one of the most famous scientists in the world. By closely observing animals andnature, she helped humans understand more about how we are all connected. I hope that when I grow up, I can be as brave, determined and caring as Jane Goodall. The End篇4Prompt: A famous person you admire and why you admire them. Tell the story of their life and achievements.Title: The Awesome Life of Malala YousafzaiMalala Yousafzai is one of the bravest and most inspiring people in the world! She fought for girls' education even though it was super dangerous where she lived in Pakistan.Malala was born on July 12, 1997 in Mingora, Pakistan. Her father Ziauddin was a teacher and he always taught Malala that getting an education was really important, even for girls. At that time, there was a group called the Taliban that didn't want girls to go to school. They made lots of threats against Malala's family because her father ran schools that taught girls. When Malala was 11 years old in 2008, the Taliban took over the area where she lived. They banned girls from going to school and destroyed many school buildings. But Malala kept going toher father's schools in secret! She also started writing a blog under a fake name for the BBC, telling the world what life was like under Taliban rule.Malala became very famous for speaking out about girls' rights to education. The Taliban didn't like that at all. In 2012, when Malala was just 15 years old, a Taliban gunman boarded her school bus, asked "Who is Malala?" and shot her in the head! It was a horrifying attack that shocked people all over the world.Malala survived the shooting after lots of surgeries and treatments. She had to recover for many months in a hospital in England. During that time, she co-founded the Malala Fund to help give all girls access to 12 years of free, safe, quality education. In 2014, when Malala was just 17 years old, she became the youngest person ever to receive the Nobel Peace Prize! She won for her brave work campaigning for children's rights to education. Malala said "One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world."After graduating from Oxford University, Malala kept working hard as an activist for girls' education around the world. She has visited many countries, given speeches at the UnitedNations, written a bestselling book, and produced movies and TV shows. Malala didn't let the Taliban stop her!Malala is my hero because she never gave up fighting for her beliefs, even when her life was in terrible danger. She used her voice to inspire millions and make positive changes in the world. Malala shows that one person, even a young girl, really can make a huge difference. I want to be brave and keep learning like Malala!篇5Topic: Write a biography about a famous person you admire. Include details about their life, accomplishments, and why you look up to them.My Hero: Marie CurieMarie Curie was the greatest scientist ever! She was born in 1867 in Poland. Her real Polish name was Maria SalomeaSkłodowska. When she was a little girl, she was really really smart and loved studying science and math.Back then, it was very hard for girls to get educated in Poland. But Marie's parents still taught her as much as they could at home. Marie had to work super hard tutoring other kids toearn money so she could go to university in France. I can't even imagine having to tutor kids when I was little just to get an education! In 1891, Marie went to study at the Sorbonne University in Paris. There she met a professor named Pierre Curie who was just as obsessed with science as she was. Pierre thought Marie was the smartest person he ever met. They got married in 1895 and became science partners, working together on experiments.Marie and Pierre made many important discoveries about this new mysterious thing called "radioactivity." Radioactivity is kind of like an invisible energy that comes out of certain elements like uranium. The Curies studied radioactivity night and day in their tiny little lab. It was so hard because radioactivity is impossible to see with your eyes!In 1903, Marie and Pierre announced they had discovered and isolated a brand new chemical element that gave off tons of radioactivity. They named it "radium." Radium glows a pretty blue-green color because of the radioactivity. Isn't that so cool? Imagine finding a whole new element that no one knew existed before! For their radium discovery, Marie and Pierre were awarded the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics, along with another scientistnamed Henri Becquerel. Marie was the first woman ever to win a Nobel Prize! I bet she felt so proud.Sadly, just a few years later in 1906, Pierre was killed after being run over by a horse-drawn carriage. Even though she was absolutely devastated losing her husband and best friend, Marie decided to keep going and finish the science work they had started together. In 1911, Marie won an amazing second Nobel Prize, this time in Chemistry! She was the first person ever to win two Nobel Prizes. The award was for her pioneering studies of radioactivity and the discovery of the elements radium and polonium. Thanks to Marie's work, radioactivity had all kinds of important uses in fields like medicine for treating cancer patients. But Marie didn't fully realize how dangerous radioactivity could be too. She died in 1934 from diseases caused by being exposed to too much radiation during her experiments.I really admire Marie Curie for never giving up on her dreams of getting an education and becoming a scientist, even when everything seemed stacked against her as a woman and immigrant. Her brilliant discoveries changed science forever. She worked harder than anyone and made incredible sacrifices to unlock the mysteries of the universe. Marie Curie is the bravest, smartest and most inspiring person I can think of. I hope I can have just a little bit of her passion and determination when I grow up!篇6Here's a narrative essay topic and sample response about a famous person's biography in the style of a 6th grade student learning English, written in English with around 2000 words:Topic: Write a biography about your favorite famous scientist and describe how their discoveries changed the world. My Favorite Scientist: Marie CurieMarie Curie was a very, very smart scientist who made important discoveries about radioactivity. She was born in 1867 in Warsaw, which is the capital city of Poland. Her full name was Maria Salomea Skłodowska, but when she got married, her last name changed to Curie. As a young girl, Marie loved learning about science and nature. She was an excellent student and wanted to study at a good university, but back then universities didn't allow many women to attend. So Marie had to take secret underground classes with other women who wanted an education. When Marie was 24 years old, she was finally able to enroll at the University of Paris in France. There she met a professor named Pierre Curie who was studying radioactivity. They fell in love, got married, and began working together as science partners.Marie and Pierre discovered two new chemical elements by analyzing the energy given off by uranium ore. They named these new elements "polonium" after Marie's home country Poland, and "radium" from the Latin word for "ray." This was an amazing breakthrough! They realized radioactivity was a new kind of atomic energy. For their pioneering work on radioactivity, the Curies were awarded the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics. This made Marie the first woman to receive a Nobel Prize. The prize money allowed them to continue their research.Sadly, Pierre Curie was killed in 1906 after being struck by a horse-drawn wagon. Even though she was heartbroken, Marie took over his teaching position at the University of Paris and became the first woman professor there.Marie went on to win a second Nobel Prize in 1911, this time in the field of Chemistry, for her discovery of the elementsradium and polonium. She was the first person in history to earn two Nobel Prizes!Marie dedicated her life to studying radioactivity and its effects. She designed portable x-ray machines that could be used to treat soldiers injured in World War I. However, she didn't realize how dangerous radioactive materials could be. The long exposure caused Marie to develop leukemia, an illness that ended up taking her life in 1934 at the age of 66.Even though Marie Curie's life was difficult and ended too soon, her contributions to science were groundbreaking and changed the world forever. She paved the way for future women in STEM fields. Marie once said, "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood." Her curiosity, determination, and pioneering spirit inspires me to work hard and never give up on my dreams.。

Should Universities lower Admission Requirements for Celebrities?
In recent years, many famous universities lower admission requirements for celebrities. More and more celebrities, especially sports stars, have been admitted to famous universities even without an entry examination. This phenomenon has become a subject of widespread controversy.
Some people object strongly that universities lower admission requirements for celebrities. They hold that this admission pattern will damage the basic fairness rule of education. In addition, they say that if a person who has not enough academic ability is admitted to the university, it would be an insult on college education. However, still other people think it acceptable. They say that these celebrities deserve this privilege because they have proved their abilities in their field. Besides, in their opinions, these celebrities to some extent set a good model for other young people.
Weighing these two arguments, I prefer the latter one. For one thing, these celebrities have sacrificed much learning time for their work, so they should be provided a better chance for learning. For another, if they accept advanced education,
they could serve the society better. Therefore, I suggest that people should pay more attention to these celebrities’ efforts and contributions rather than the special treatment they enjoy.。
