Teaching Contents
It is the first period of Unit5 Do you like pears? in PEP Book 2. In this class, I focus on A Let’s learn. The contents are close to students’lives, so it is not very different for them to learn.
Teaching aims
1.Knowledge amis
(1)Students are expected to master the words:apple, pear,
orange and banana.
(2)Students are also expected to use the sentence patterns “Do
you like …?”
“Yes, I do.”“No, I don’t.” to ask and answer.
2.Ability aims
Students are able to talk in English and improve their oral English.
3.Affective aims
(1)Cultivate students’ interest on English learning.
(2)Encourage students to eat fruit to keep in health.

Step1 Warming up
1.Listen to the song “Apple red apple round”
2.Let’s sing a song

Step2 Lead-in
(Show students a bag)
T: What’s this ?
Ss: It’s a bag.
T: Yes, it’s a magic bag. There are many things in it. Do you want to know what’s in my bag?
Ss: Yes!
T: Look, what’s this?
S1: It’s a pen.
T: Guess! What else?
S2: A book?
S3: A pencil?
...
T: Now, put your hand in and touch it. What’s that?
Is it big or small? Is it long or short?
Step3 Presentation & practice
1.Teach the new words “apple, orange, pear, banana”one by
one.
(1)Show students an apple, teach the word “apple”.
T: What’s this?
Ss: It’s an apple.
T: What color is it?
Ss: It’s red.
(2)Show students an orange, teach the word “orange”.
(3)Show students a banana, teach the word “banana”.
(4)Show students a pear, teach the word “pear”.
2. Practice
(5)Practice reading in drills.
(6)Look at the teacher’s mouth, guess what the word is.
(Divide students in to four groups. They are apples,
oranges, bananas and pears)
(7)Show students pictures quickly. Ask them to say the words
as quickly as possible. And then say hello to the fruit.
(8)Say “Hello” song.
Hello apple do oh do.
Hello pear do oh do.
Hello orange do oh do.
Hello, hello, hello.
3. Present the plural form
(1) (PPT show students a picture)
T: What color is it?
Ss: It’s purple.
T: Guess! What’s that?
Ss: Grape.
T: Yes. It’s a grape. They are two grapes. They are three grapes.
(2) Cover the picture and ask students to guess what that is
according to the color. Then open the picture. There are
two apples, two oranges, two pears and three bananas.
(3) Let’s do and say
T: Group1 are apples. Group2 are oranges. Group3 are bananas. Group4 are pears.
“Apples, apples, stand up. Oranges, oranges, sit down.”

Step4 Present the sentence patterns and practice.
1.T: Look! I have three bananas! I like bananas very much.
They are yummy. Do you like bananas ? (Write the sentence on the blackboard)
Lead the students to say “Yes, I do.”
Practice reading the sentences.
(Show students a bad banana)
T: Oh, it’s bad. Do you like it?
Ss: No!
Teach “No, I don’t.”
2.Pair work
A: Do you like apples?
B: Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
3.Let’s play a game
One students choose the fruit he or she likes. The other one guess what does he or she like.
Use the sentence pattern “ Do you like …?”“Yes, I do.”“No,
I don’t.”
Step5 Story time
T: We like different fruits. What about Zoom?
Show students the story and then ask students to act it out.
Step6 Let’s chant
Step7 Homework
Ask your parents what fruit they like.。
