I am proud of being a Chinese
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! It's my honor to give you a speech here. the titile of my speech is"I am proud of being a Chinese".
If someone asks me, “Where are you from”, I’ll reply proudly: “I am a Chinese!” Yes! I am a Chinese and I am proud of being a Chinese. China is a country which has a long history, abundant culture and hard-working people. Once her nation people w ere called “THE SICK MEN OF EAST ASIA” in the world, but now, the other countries in the world respect and even admire the Chinese from the bottom of their heart for the swift development of our nation. Yesterday, Chinese people invented gunpowder, compass and the technology of making paper and printing. It had not only brought people convenience but also made great progress in culture of the world. Anti-Japan War happened in 1937. The greedy Japanese Army invaded our country; Chairman Mao convinced everyon e that we couldn’t be beaten and le d people to fight for our nation. Chinese people finally made the victorious achievement and founded the People’s Republic of China.
Today, our nation has reached its peak in the development of society, economy and technology. We have sent astronauts into
the universe and even to the moon. Shanghai EXPO, Asian Games are held successfully in our country to show our strength to the world. At the same time, we have a desire to make a peaceful world. As we know, there is still a problem between South Korea and Korea. It might be broke out the third World
War. It’s not our expectation, However. Our leaders are doing some measures to interpose it in order to build up a peaceful world. I am so proud of being a Chinese!
Tomorrow, we will be the host of our nation. I am still proud of being a Chinese. As students, we should do our best to study hard to construct a more beautiful nation. And I will be a Chinese of which I am really proud.
