Ideation of Water Quality Indicator Application Report
Abstract
Water is the most important resource of life and human beings depend on it for their survival. But in order to ensure the safe supply of water, it is essential to carry out water quality monitoring. Water quality indicators are the basic technical means for monitoring water quality. This report applies a set of water quality indicators to monitor the water quality of a certain region, and analyzes the data and results of the test to assess the quality of water in the region.
Introduction
Water Quality Indicators
Water quality indicators used in this report include pH, biochemical oxygen demand, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, ammonia nitrogen, and total coliforms.
1. pH: The pH of water is an important indicator for measuring water quality, which is related to the acidity and alkalinity of water. The pH of natural water is generally maintained within a certain range, if the pH is too high or too low, it will have a serious effect on the water quality.
2. Biochemical oxygen demand: It is an important indicator of organic water pollution, which reflects the degree of water contamination caused by organic matter. When the biochemical oxygen demand is too high, it indicates that water quality is poor.
3. Total nitrogen: It is an important indicator of nitrogen-containing water pollution, which affects the algae bloom in water. When the total nitrogen is too high, oxygen in the water will be consumed, leading to the death of aquatic organisms.
4. Total phosphorus: It is the main pollutant causing eutrophication, and the increase of total phosphorus will cause a series of adverse environmental effects, such as algae bloom and the death of aquatic organisms.
5. Ammonia nitrogen: Ammonia nitrogen is one of the main pollutants in water, and it is toxic to aquatic organisms. When the concentration of ammonia nitrogen in water exceeds a certain range, it is harmful to the health of human beings and animals.
Data Analysis
The sample data of water quality indicators is as follows:
Table 1. Water Quality Indicators Test Results
Indicators Test Results pH 5.5 Biochemical Oxygen Demand
0.8mg/L Total Nitrogen 0.9mg/L Total Phosphorus 0.3mg/L Ammonia Nitrogen 0.1mg/L Total Coliforms 0cfu/100ml
The test results indicate that the pH of the water sample is 5.5, the biochemical oxygen demand is 0.8mg/L, the total nitrogen is 0.9mg/L, the total phosphorus is 0.3mg/L, the ammonia nitrogen is 0.1mg/L, and the total coliforms are
0cfu/100ml.
Conclusion
Based on the test results of water quality indicators, it can be concluded that the water quality of the region is good. The pH is in the acceptable range, and the biochemical oxygen demand, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, ammonia nitrogen, and total coliforms all meet the national standards. Therefore, it can be concluded that the water quality of the region is good and suitable for drinking and other purposes.
1. Strictly control the source of pollution, minimize the input of pollutants, and maintain the water quality of the region.
3. Carry out regular water quality monitoring to ensure the safety and quality of water.
4. Increase the awareness of water conservation and environmental protection, and encourage the public to actively protect water resources.
Conclusion
Water quality indicators are the basic technical means for monitoring water quality. This report applied a set of water quality indicators to monitor the water quality of a certain region, and assessed the water quality of the region according to the test results. The test results show that the water
quality of the region is good and within the acceptable range. In order to ensure the long-term safety and quality of water, it is necessary to strengthen the supervision, monitoring, and protection of water resources.。
