Unit 3 A taste of English humour

常见的表示转折、让步的词或词组有:but,still,yet,however,nevertheless, though,although,no matter,in spite of,anyway,even if等。

判断对立关系的四个常见依据:①根据意思判断;

3.A 根据上文“all summer long I worked out”可知,我不管到哪里都携带一个足球来练习。

4.C 根据“Miller was struck by a car and lost his right arm”可以判断出,他从医院(hospital)回来后我去看望了他。

5.A 根据but he didn’t cry可知他看上去脸色很苍白。

Miller was struck by a car and lost his right arm可知Miller遇到了车祸,故accident正确。

11.B 根据if you had both arms可知,如果有两只胳膊的话,翻越围栏并不是困难的(hard)事。

When we were finally...on the other side可知,我帮他慢慢地翻越了围栏,故helped正确。
