教学目的与要求
In this unit, students are required to:
1.master the basic words and expressions related to reporting the arrangements, answering the phone calls, receiving visitors.
4.Encourage them to perform naturally instead of reading their lines from the paper. Pay attention to their stage manners.
Situational Dialogue 2
Drill:
1.Check students’preview work by asking one or two pairs torole-play the dialogue.
2.Check students’preview work in Exercise 1&2, and help them to learn and apply.
2.Encourage the students to use language functions properly.
3.Instruct the studentshow to deal withthe office routines.

Task-based and communicative approach
Role-Plays
1.For each situational dialogue inScaffolding, two situations are designed for students do the role-play. The teacher may choose the second situation from each section.
TaskA: Common Mistakes
1.Check students’ preview work.
2.Guide the students to find out the mistakesin the dialogue, and correct them. Remindthemto avoid making the same mistakes.
2.Check students’ preview workin Exercise 1&2, and help them to learn and apply.
TaskA:Substitution Drills
1.Check students’ preview work.
2.Guide the students to fill in the blanks with proper expressions.
2.Havethestudents work in pairs to discuss briefly the three questions inExercise B.
Situational Dialogue 1
Drill:
1.Check students’ preview workbyaskingone or two pairs to read the dialogue.
2.learn and practice the language functions: making phone calls, offering hospitality, expressing and responding to thanks.

1.Help the students grasp the topic-related words and expressions.
Situational Dialogue 3
Drill:
1.Check students’ preview workbyasking some students to interpret the dialogue with the help of the Chinese version of the dialogue in the Courseware.
2.Pair the students. Each pair prepares a role-play for one of the three situations.
3.Remind them to use the expressions oftalking about arrangements, making phone calls, making appointments and receiving visitors.
