4. Understand the work group phenomena and the sources of power and politics in organization. Based on such knowledge, students should to know how to influence the whole work group as a good leader.
2. Explore the individual attitude, emotion and mood, perception, personality, motivation that affect individual behavior and performance;
3. Understand different leadership styles and their impact on employee behavior;
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. Investigate the impact that individuals and groups have on behavior within an organization, and examine how these behaviors will further affect an organization’s effectiveness;
5. Develop working knowledge of conducting empirical research by studying the best examples and developing research report on important and interesting management problems in organizations.
Prerequisites:Nil
Course Description: This course aims to provide students with a conceptual and theoretical approach to understand the employees’ behavior in the organization. It will introduce the students to the fundamental concepts of organizational behavior. The primary focus will be on gaining a better understanding of the behavior of individuals and groups within organizations. It facilitates students with the knowledge and skills required to diagnose different behavioral situations, and the necessary techniques in influencing and controlling the behavior of employees in the achievement of individual and organizational effectiveness. A great deal of emphasis will be placed on examining how the theoretical concepts introduced in class relate to the day-to-day operations of a business and to our future (or current) career.
