状语从句
状语从句在高考试题中由于其他从句的干扰,以及倒装句,强调句的介入,使得状语从句更为复杂。状语从句是一种副词性从句,通常由一个从属连词或一个起连词作用的词组引导。
状语从句
1. 时间状语从句
常见的连词(组):
when, while, as, before, after, once, till, until, as soon as, now that, hardly ...when, scarcely ...when, no sooner ...than等。
可以引导时间状语从句的副(介)词(短语)或名词短语:
directly, instantly, immediately, by the time, the moment, the second, the minute, the instant, every time, each time, next time, the last time等。
注意点如下:
(1) when, while, as引导的时间状语从句
as表示“当……的时候”,往往和when/ while通用,但它着重强调主句与从句的动作或事情同时或几乎同时发生。when(at or during the time)既可以表示在某一点的时候,又可以表示在某一段时间内,主句与从句的动作或事情可以同时发生也可以先后发生。while强调一段时间,仅表示从句和主句的动作同时发生,并且有延续意义,该从句中的动词一般要用延续性动词,从句中常用过去进行时态或一般过去时态;当when表示a period of time时,两者可以互换。

用来修饰主句中的动词,副词和形容词的从句叫状语从句。
二、状语从句的分类
根据其含义状语从句可分为时间状语从句,地点状语从句,条件状语从句, 语从句,目的
原因状语从句,结果状语从句,比较状状语从句,让步状语从句。
三、状语从句的句法功能

1.时间状语从句
(1) 时间状语从句常用when, as, while, before, after, since, till, until, as soon as等连词来引导。
例如:
It was raining hard when he got to school yesterday.
While he was doing his homework, the telephone rang.
As he walked along the lake, he sang happily.
He had learned a little Chinese before he came to China.
After he finished middle school, he went to work in a factory.
(2) 在时间状语从句里,通常不用将来时态,用现在时态表示将来的动作或状态。
例如:
I’ll ring you up as soon as I get to New Y ork.
I will tell him everything when he comes back.
He won’t believe it until he sees it with his own eyes.
(3) 在带有till或until引导的时间状语从句的主从复合句里,如果主句用肯定式,其含义是“一直到……时”,

状语从句是副词性从句,它在句子中担任状语,修饰主句的动词、形容词、副词或句子。
(1)当主句是一般将来时、祈使句或主句中含有情态动词,这些词引导的从句要用一般现在时

(2)when,while,as显然都可以引导时间状语从句,但用法区别非常大。
一、when可以和延续性动词连用,也可以和短暂性动词连用;而while和as只能和延续
性动词连用。
①Why do you want a new job when youve got such a good one already?(get为短暂性动
词)你已经找到如此好的工作,为何还想再找新的?
②Sorry,I was out when you called me.(call为短暂性动词)
③Strike while the iron is hot.(is为延续性动词,表示一种持续的状态)趁热打铁。
④The students took notes as they listened.(listen为延续性动词)
二、when从句的谓语动词可以在主句谓语动作之前、之后或同时发生;while和as从句的谓语动作必须是和主句谓语动作同时发生。
1.从句动作在主句动作前发生,只用when。
①When he had finished his homework,he took a short rest.(finished先发生)
②When I got to the airport,the guests had left.(got to后发生)

条件状语从句
(1)if引导条件状语从句
if引导条件状语从句意为如果”,表示一种假设的条件。 You can leave now if you like. If you study hard, you will pass the final examination.

(2) unless引导条件状语从句 unless引导条件状语从句意为“除非;如果不...”相当于 if ... not,而且可以与if引导的条件状语从句互换使用。 I will go there tomorrow unless it rains. =I will go there tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

since表示人们已经知道的事实,不需要强调的原因,常意为“既 然....”通常放在句首。since引导的从句是次要的,重点强调主 从 句的内容。 Since everyone is here, let's get started. Since you are free tonight. why not drop in and play chess with me?
2. even if, even though的用法 even if, even though表示语气更强的让步,意为“即 使”。even if更强调对“假设”的让步, even though更 加强调对“既成事实”的让步。 We'll make a tip even though the weather is bad. Even though he is 20, he is sill like a little child.

一、定义:
在句中作状语的从句是状语从句,修饰主句中的动词、形容词或副词,句子等。状语从句由从属连词引导,从属连词在句中不充当句子成分,只起连接作用,状语从句放在句首时,要用逗号,放在句尾时不用。
二、分类

四. 原因状语从句
1. because的用法
because 表示的因果关系最强,常用来回答why提出的问题,
意为“因为”。所引出的原因往往是说话者所不知道的或者最
感兴趣的。because引导的原因状语从句往往比主句显得更
重

六、目的状语从句
1. in order that和so that的用法 in order that常用于正式文体中。可置于句首,也可置于句 尾。而so that往往只置于句尾。so that中的that有时可省 略。从句中常有can, may, could, would等情态动词。 eg: She dressed like an angel so that everyone would notice her. eg: You must speak loud in order that you can be heard by all.
(2)主句是肯定句时 主句如果是肯定句,谓语动词需用延续性动词,表示主句的动 作直到从句表示的时间点就结束。 eg: I will wait for you until/till you come back. 我会一 直等,直到你回来。 eg: You may stay here until/till the rain stops. 你可以 在这里一直待到雨停。

1.状语从句的定义:状语从句在句中作状语,修饰主句的动词,形容词或副词
等,有时修饰整个主句。

2.分类:
(1)时间状语从句。
a.until引导时间状语从句,“直到……时”,从句一般位于主句之后。
如果主句时肯定句时,谓语用延续性动词,强调主句的动作或状态一直持续到从句的动作发生为止,译为“直到……”
I stayed there until he came back.
如果主句时否定句,谓语用非延续性动词,侧重主句的动作在从句的动作发生之后才开始,译为“直到……才”
He didn’t go to bed until 11 o’clock.
b.when引导的时间状语从句。
when “当……时“,引导时间状语从句,表示主句的动作和从句的动作同时发生。
I feel very happy when you come to see me.
When you are crossing the street, you must be careful.

when引导的时间状语从句中的谓语可以用延续性动词,也可以用非延续性动词。He was working at the table when I went in.

c.while引导的时间状语从句,译为“与……同时,在……期间”,从句常用延续性

d.as soon as引导的时间状语从句,遵循主将从现原则。
as soon as “一……就……”表示从句的动作一发生,主句的动作就马上就发生。
I will tell him about it as soon as he comes back.

3.so that 引导目的状语从句。
so that “以便“,引导目的状语从句时,一般放在主句后,且不用逗号隔开。目的状语从句表示动机(即一种可能性),而非事实。因此,从句带有can/will/could/would/should等情态动词。
He took a taxi so that he could get there earlier.
He worked hard so that he could pass the exam.
so that “以至于,结果“引导结果状语从句,陈述的是客观事实,常常不带情态动词。
I studied English hard so that I passed the English exam.
He runs every day so that he is healthy.
