江西省专升本英语考试真题及答案
江西省专升本英语考试真题及答案English:One of the past exam questions for the Jiangxi Province College Entrance Examination for Adults in English is as follows: "According to the passage, what are the factors affecting language learning? Please give your opinions." In response to this question, it is important to first consider the various factors mentioned in the passage, such as age, aptitude, motivation, and learning strategies. The passage may have highlighted how younger learners tend to pick up new languages more easily, while those with a natural talent for languages may also have an advantage. Motivation and the use of effective learning strategies, such as immersion or regular practice, may also play a crucial role in language acquisition. After identifying these factors, one can offer their opinions on the significance of each factor and how they interact with one another in influencing language learning. For instance, one may argue that while age and aptitude may provide initial advantages, motivation and effective learning strategies are ultimately the key determinants of language learning success. By offering a critical analysis of the factors affecting language learning, one can then support their opinions withevidence or examples from their own experiences or academic research.中文翻译:江西省成人高考英语专升本考试的往年考题之一是:“根据短文,什么因素影响了语言学习?请发表你的观点。

It is listed by the Guinness Book of Would Records as the world’s largest underground lake. The Lost Sea is part of an extensive and historic cave system called Craighead Caverns. The caverns have been known and used since the days of the Cherokee Indian nation. The cave expands into a series of huge rooms from a small opening on the side of the mountain. Approximately one mile from the entrance, in a room called “The Council Room,” many Indian artisfacts have been found. Some of the items discovered include pottery, arrowheads, weapons, and jewelry. For many years there were persistent rumors of a large underground lake somewhere in a cave, but it was not discovered until 1905. In that year, a thirteen-year-old boy named Ben Sands crawledthrough a small opening three hundred feet underground. He found himself in a large cave half filled with water.Today tourists visit the Lost Sea and ride far out onto it in glass-bottomed boats powered by electric motors. More than thirteen acres of water have been mapped out so far and still no end to the lake has been found. Even though teams of divers have tried to explore the Lost Sea, the full extent of it is still unknown.66. Eating breakfast at the start of the day, we have all been told, and told again, is as necessary as putting gasoline in the family car before starting a trip. But for many people the thought of food first thing in the morning is by no means a pleasure. So despite all the efforts, they still take no breakfast. Between 1977 and 1983, the latest year for which figures are available, the numbe r of people who didn’t have breakfast, increased by 33 percent. For those who feelpain of guilt about not eating breakfast, however, there is some good news. Several studies in the last few years indicate that, for adults especially, there may be nothing w rong with omitting breakfast. “Going without breakfast does not affect performance,” said Arrold E. Bender, former professor of the nutrition at Queen Elizabeth College in London, “nor does giving people breakfast improve performance.”Scientific evidence linking breakfast to better health or better performance is surprisingly inadequate, and most of the recent work involves children, not adults, “The literature”, says one researcher, Dr. Erresto at the University of Texas, “is poor”.71. The latest year for which figures could be obtained is _______.A. the year the author wrote the articleB. 1977C. any year between 1997 and 1983D. 198372. For those who do not take breakfast, the good news is that _______.A. several studies have been done in the past few yearsB. the omission of breakfast does no harm to one’s healthC. adults have especially made studies in this fieldD. eating little in the morning is good for health73. “…nor does giving people breakfast improve performance” means ______.A. anyone without breakfast does improve his performanceB. not giving people breakfast improve performanceC. having breakfast does not improve performance, eitherD. people having breakfast do improve their performance74. The word “literature” in the last sentence refers to _______.A. stories, poems, plays, etc.B. written works on a particular subjectC. any printed materialD. the modern literature of America75. What is implied but NOT stated by the author is that _______.A. breakfast does not affect performanceB. Dr. Erresto is engaged in research work at an institution of higher learningC. not eating breakfast might affect the health of childrenD. Professor Bender once taught college courses in nutrition in LondonPassage FourAbout 35% of all high school graduates in America continue their education in an institution of higher learning. The word college is used to refer to either a college or a university. These institutions offer four-year programs that lead to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor Science (B.S.) degree. Some students attend a junior college (providing only a two-year program) for one to two years before entering a four-year college as a sophomore (二年级生) or junior (三年级生). It is generally easier to be accepted at a state university than at a private one. Most private schools require strict entrance examinations and a high grade point average (GPA), as well as specific college prep classes in high school. Private schools cost considerably more than state colleges and famous private schools are very expensive. Poorer students can sometimes attend, however, by earning scholarships. Some college graduates go on to earn advanced masters or doctoral degrees in grad (graduate) school. Occupations in certain fields such as law or medicine require such advanced studies.Since college costs are very high, most students work at part-time jobs. Some have full-time jobs and go to school part-time. Often some will take five or more years to complete a four-year program because of money / job demands on their time. While the college and work demands take up the great part of a student’s time, most still enjoy social activities. Sports, dances, clubs, movies, and plays are all very popular. However, gathering together for long, philosophical talks at a favorite meeting place on or near the university is probably the most popular activity.76. College education is _______ in America.A. quite commonB. very rareC. something difficultD. almost impossible77. Which of the following is NOT required for entering most private schools.A. entrance examinationsB. taking part in many activitiesC. GPAD. college prep classes78. How can poor studentsattend private schools?A. Only by working at part-time jobs.B. Only by working at full-time jobs.C. Only by earning scholarships.D. All of above.79. The American college students like to _______ most of all.A. discuss problems on philosophyB. play ballsC. earn enough moneyD. go to the cinemas or theatres80. 江西专升本统考英语历年真题及答案
2001年江西省“专升本”英语统一考试试卷(120分钟)Part ⅠListening comprehension (20 points)(略)Part ⅡReading Comprehension (30 points)Directions:In this section there are four passages. Each of them is followed by some questions. For each question there are four suggested answers marked A),B),C),and D). You should decide on the best choice andmark the corresponding letter on the Answer Sheet with a single line through the center.Questions 21-25 are based on the following passage.By far the most common snake in Britain is the adder (奎蛇). In Scotland, in fact, there are no other snakes at all. The adder is also the only British snake with a poisonous bite. It can be found almost anywhere, but prefers sunny hillsides and rough open country, including high ground. In Ireland there are no snakes at all. Most people regard snake bites as a fatal (致命的) misfortune, but not all bites are serious, and very few are fatal. Sometimes attempts at emergency treatment turn out to be more dangerous than the bite itself, with amateurs (外行人) heroically, but mistakenly, trying do-it-yourself surgery (手术) and other unnecessary measures. All snakes have small teeth, so that all snakes can bite, but only the bite of the adder presents any danger. British snakes are shy animals and far more frightened of you than you could possibly be of them. The adder will attack only if it feels threatened, as can happen if you take it by surprise and step on it accidentally, or if you try to catch it or pick it up, which it dislikes intensely. If it hears you coming, it will normally get out of the wa6y as quickly as it can, but adders cannot move very rapidly and may attack before moving if you are very close. The effect of a bite varies considerably. It depends upon several things, one of which is the body-weight of the person bitten. The bigger the person, the less harmful the bite is likely to be, which is why children suffer far more seriously from snake bites than adults. A healthy person will also have better resistance against the poison.Very few people actually die from snake bites in Britain, and though these bites can make some people very ill, there are probably just as many cases of bites having little or no effect, as there are of serious illness.21. Adders are most likely to be found _______.A) in wider parts of Britain and IrelandB) in Scotland but nowhere elseC) on wild land through BritainD) in the countryside in England22. If you are with someone who is bitten by an adder, you should ______.A) try to catch the snakeB) not treat the bite yourselfC) not worry too much about the victimD) operate him as soon as possible23. We are told that adders _______.A) normally friendly towards peopleB) unlikely to bite except in self-defenseC) likely to attack people whenever they see themD) not afraid of human beings24. If an adder hears you approaching, it will usually ______.A) move out of your pathB) take no notice of you at allC) disappear very quicklyD) wait until you are close and then attack25. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?A) Adders are more likely to attack children than adults.B) The adder prefers to bite a person with a heavy body.C)The danger of adder bites is different from person to person.D)In most cases adder bites are more serious than other illnesses.Questions 26-30 are based on the following passages.Only the government can ensure that the American people have clean air and pure water. Congress must pass laws to stop manufacturers from polluting the air and water with the waste from their factories.Unless anti-pollution standards are enforced for all, companies that care about a clean environment will go out of business. For example, if Automobile Company X spends money to put an air-pollution control device on their automobiles, thei r cars will be more expensive than the cars produced by another company. People who don’t have the extra money or who don’t care about pollution will not buy the more expensive cars. Automobile Company X will go bankrupt (破产); that is, it won’t make enough money to pay its workers and to buy materials. It will then go out of business. Of course, no automobile company will make itself go bankrupt on purpose, and the pollution of the land andair and water will go on.But if the government says that all automobile manufacturers must make cars with air-pollution control devices, the cost of all manufacturers will be equal. So the government cannot let companies decide whether or not they want to stop pollution. The government must force manufacturers to clean up the environment by setting anti-pollution standards for everyone.26. If a company cares about a clean environment while others don’t, it will have to _______.A) change the anti-pollution standards for its productsB) sell its products at a more expensive priceC) buy materials at a higher priceD) pay more money to its workers27. The writer gives the example of Automobile Company X to show that _______.A) manufacturers will not take care of pollution control on their own willB) few manufacturers are aware of the importance of air-pollution controlC) air-pollution control devices are more expensive than other devicesD) people like to buy cars that are equipped with pollution control devices28. According to the writer, anti-pollution standards ensure that ______.A) no manufacturer will go bankrupt for spending money on pollution controlB) less money will be spent in buying pollution control devicesC) manufacturers know how to control pollution more effectivelyD)all manufacturers have to take measures to control pollution29. The purpose of this passage is _______.A) to describe how a company can go bankruptB) to emphasize the urgent need of cleaning up the environmentC) to stress the importance of the government’s role In preventing pollutionD) to tell how difficult it is to keep the environment free from air-pollution30. What can be inferred from thin passage?A) Companies have not been given an equal chance to develop their business.B) A company will go bankrupt if its cars have to be installed with pollution control devices.C) The US government has not set up standards on pollution control for car producers.D) It is necessary to persuade producers to take effective pollution control measure.Questions 31-35 are based on the following passages.Large-scale production in a large market brings advantages: mass production helps to reduce the manufacturing costs of consumer goods and the single market also makes it easier to specialize. Together, these two considerations improve businesses’ cha nce of making profit.Within the single market, the Community (欧共体) is making clearly strict European industrial standards which help European industry compete with imported products and conquer new markets, as well as making high-quality products available to the consumer. The European commission’s competition policy serves to ensure that the common interest prevails over individual business interests. At the same time, it is flexible enough to allow co-operation between small firms.Business are being encouraged to operate outside the country in which they are based by measures designed to ensure that they are no longer taxed twice for doing so. The days when taxes are an obstacle to Europe-wide business operation will soon be gone.In addition to creatin g a favorable business environment, the community’s industrial policy is also concerned with developing specific strategies. The objective is to carry out long-term plans to develop industries such as the electronics industry, information technology, biotechnology (生物技术) and textiles. These measures, at national and community level, will influence the quality of products, the technology used to manufacture them, the training the workforce receives, and the development of new outlets. In short, a whole range of instruments will be created to protect the future of European technology. These projects will require extra funding at Community level for training, research and development and communications networks. The extra Community funding will be used as rationally as possible in a way which maximizes the benefit to European industry.31. The European Community has found ______.A) a single market to carry out mass productionB) the Community market to produce high quality goodsC) a large market to increase business with other countriesD) a new market to make it easier to get profits32. We can infer from the passage that the community’s general policy ______.A) helps the small firms to do business flexiblyB) encourages big firms to conquer the small onesC) emphasizes the interest of the Community as a wholeD) brings the customer more imported goods33. Being out of high school meant I was finally coming of age. Soon I would be on my own, making my own decisions, doing what I wanted and it meant going to school with boys---a welcome change coming from an all-girl high school. There was never any question in my mind that I would go to a college away from home. My mother’s idea, on the other hand, was just the opposite. It was late at night, and they were just talking.I thought it was nice of him, but I wonder why he stopped. ”A few weeks later Jordan and I were talking about something else before a game, and I brought up what the man had said. Why?He smiled. “If I don’t stop, I’ll go home knowing they’re waiting for me anyway,” he said, “If you knew my four guys you’d know that they’re going to be out whether it’s raining or snowing. My father had told me I’d have to ask for credit (赊账)at the store. Sixteen is a proud age, when a young man wants respect, not pity. But before harvest, cash was short.Would the store owner trust us?At Davis Brothers General Store, Buck Davis stood behind the register (记帐台), talking to a farmer. Buck was a tall, weathered man in a red hunting shirt, and I nodded as I passed him on my way to the hardware counter. 江西专升本英语作文真题试卷及答案历年
江西专升本英语作文真题试卷及答案历年My Big Sis and Her Zhuan Sheng Ben TestHi there! My name is Li Ming and I'm 9 years old. I'm in the 4th grade at Nanchang No. 1 Primary School. Today I want to tell you all about my big sister Yi Yi and her experiences with the Jiangxi Zhuan Sheng Ben English test! What's the Zhuan Sheng Ben test, you ask? Well, it's this really important English exam that senior students in Jiangxi have to take if they want to get upgraded from a junior college diploma to a full bachelor's degree. My sis Yi Yi is 22 years old and she's been studying so hard to ace this test. You see, after she finished high school a few years ago, Yi Yi went to Jiangxi Technical College to get her associate's degree. But she's always dreamed of getting a proper bachelor's from a top university. The only way for her to do that without starting over from year 1 is to take and pass the super difficult Zhuan Sheng Ben English test!I remember sitting in our living room and watching Yi Yi pore over these gigantic exam prep books filled with past Zhuan Sheng Ben test papers. She had stacks and stacks of them! The tests looked crazy hard, with all sorts of long reading passages, grammar exercises, essay prompts, and more. Just flipping through made my head spin.Yi Yi explained to me that the English part of the Zhuan Sheng Ben is one of the toughest sections. It really tests your mastery of vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing abilities, and knowledge of English grammar and usage. You have to be able to understand complex passages, identify errors, rephrase ideas, and write clear and logical essays. No pressure or anything, haha!My sis is honestly a genius though. I've watched her study her butt off for this test over the past year. She'd wake up early every morning to review vocabulary lists. She'd spend hours on the weekends doing practice tests, making sure to time herself just like the real thing. And she was always scribbling down notes, highlights, and annotations in all her prep books. What made it even more impressive is that Yi Yi was juggling her intense Zhuan Sheng Ben studies on top of her regular college coursework and her part-time job at a tutoring center. I have no idea how she managed everything without going completely bonkers! She really wanted this though, so she pushed through. The morning of Yi Yi's Zhuan Sheng Ben exam day, I remember our whole family feeling just as nervous as she was! My parents cooked her a huge breakfast to carb-load and keep her energized. I gave her a big hug and my ratty old stuffed bunny for good luck. Then we all went with her to the exam site and waved wildly until she disappeared inside. The next few hours of waiting felt like forever. Yi Yi finally emerged looking exhausted but cautiously confident. She said the reading passages and essays were brutal, just like she practiced, but that she felt she gave it her absolute all.A couple months later, the results came in - and Yi Yi passed We were。

People who do not read newspapers are sometimes referred to as nonreaders. Early research has shown non-readers are generally low in education, low in income, either very young or very old. In addition, non-readers are more likely to live in rural areas and have less contact with neighbours and friends. Other studies show that non-readers tend to isolate themselves from the community, are less likely to own a home and seldom belong to local voluntary organizations. Why don’t these people read daily paper? They say they don’t have the time, they prefer radio or TV, they have no interest in reading at all and besides, they think newspapers are too expensive.Recent surveys, however, have indicated that the portrait of the non-reader is more complicated than first thought. There appears to be a group of non-readers that does not fit the type mentioned above. They are high in income and fall into the age group of 26 to 65. They are far more likely to report that they don’t have the time to read papers and they have no interest in the content. Editors and publishers are attempting to win them back. First, they are adding news briefs and comprehensive indexes. This will help overcome the time problem. And they are also giving variety to newspaper content to help build the readers’ interest.11. What is typical of non-readers according to the early research?12. What are the findings of recent surveys?13. What are editors and publishers doing to attract the non-readers?Passage TwoDid you know that there is a kind of bird that can sew? This bird, called the tailor bird, uses its mouth as a needle. It sews leaves together in the shape of a cup. Then it adds a layer of straw to the inside of the cup and lays its eggs there. Each bird species builds its own special kind of nest. The most common materials used for nests are grasses, branches and feathers. A bird must weave these materials into a nest. Just imagine building a house without cement or nails to hold it together!Another bird is called the weaver bird. The weaver bird builds a nest that looks like a basket. The nest’s shape is like a pear with a hole in the middle. The hole is the door of the nest. A third bird is called the oven bird. The oven bird makes the nest that is very solid. The nest is made of mud. The oven bird forms the mud into the shape of an oven, and then lets it dry in the sun. The sun bakes the mud, making it very hard. Not all birds make their homes in branches. Some birds build their nests on the ground, while others bury their eggs under the ground. And some birds do not build nests at all. So, when you look for nests and eggs in the branches of trees and bushes, remember, that some nests may be right under your feet.14. What does the nest built by a tailor bird look like?15. Why is there a hole in the weaver bird’s nest?16. What is t he oven bird’s nest made of?17. What might surprise us about birds’ nests according to the speaker?Passage ThreeYou can tell the age of a tree by counting its rings. But these records of a tree’s life really say a lot more. Scientists are using tree rin gs to learn what’s been happening on the Sun’s surface for the last 10,000 years. Each ring represents a year of growth. As a tree grows it adds a layer to its trunk, taking up chemical elements from the air. By looking at the elements in the rings from the given year, scientists can tell what elements were in the air that year. Dr. Stevenson is analyzing one element, carbon-14, in rings from both living and dead trees. Some of the rings go back almost 10,000 years to the end of the Ice Age. When Stevenson followed the carbon-14 trail back in time, he found carbon-14levels change with the intensity of solar burning. You see, the sun has cycles. Sometimes it burns fiercely; at other times, it is relatively calm. During the Sun’s violent periods, it throws of f charged particles in fast moving strings called solar winds. The particles interfere with the formation of carbon-14 on Earth. When there is more solar wind activity, less carbon-14 is produced. 10,000 years of tree rings show that the carbon-14 level rises and falls about every 420 years. The scientists concluded that solar wind activity must follow the same cycle.18. What’s the purpose of the scientists in studying tree rings?19. What affects the amount of carbon-14 on Earth?20. What do we learn from the passage about solar wind activity?。
