YANG GUIFEI
She was the beloved consort of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang during his later years. During the An Lushan Rebellion, as Emperor Xuanzong and his cortege were fleeing from the capital Chang'an to Chengdu, the emperor's guards demanded that he put Yang to death because they blamed the rebellion on her cousin Yang Guozhong and the rest of her family. The emperor capitulated and reluctantly ordered his attendant Gao Lishi to strangle Yang to death.
XI SHI
She was said to have lived during the end of Spring and Autumn Period in Zhuji, the capital of the ancient State of Yue. Her name was Shi Yiguang (施夷光). Xi Shi‘s beauty was said to be so extreme that while leaning over a balcony to look at the fish in the pond, the fish would be so dazzled that they forgot to swim and sank away from the surface. This description serves as the first two characters of the Chinese idiom( 沉魚落雁, 閉月 羞 )which is used to compliment someone's beauty.

Garment The ancients had their own attitude towards beauty and fashion. “Beauties Wearing Flowers” is a Chinese painting of the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.). In this painting, women wear their black, glazed hair in a high bun. A strong contrast between colors is also expressed in their costumes: the colors of azure, ochre and carmine are in perfey wear décolletages and their shawls are as thin as a cicada’s wings, which let their skin show faintly.

The Four Beauties are four ancient Chinese women, renowned for their beauty. According to legend, they are the most beautiful women of ancient China, and among the most significant as well. They gained their reputation from the influence on kings and emperors. In a way, their actions impacted Chinese history. Most ended their lives intragedy or mystery.

Beauty is not a concrete thing. It's not always judged the same. It's just people's tastes in what they think as beauty. Beauty is a relative thing. What looks pretty to one person is not necessarily pretty to another. Beauty isn’t just physical, it lies in the eyes and the heart and the personality of a person.

Xi Shi (c. seventh to sixth century BC, Spring and Autumn Period), said to be “so beautiful as to make swimming fish sink” (沉鱼) Wang Zhaojun (c. first century BC, Western Han Dynasty), said to be “so beautiful as to make flying geese fall” (落雁) Diao Chan (c. third century, Three Kingdoms period), said to have “a face that would make the full moon hide behind the clouds“(闭月) Yang Guifei (719-756, Tang Dynasty), said to have “a face that would make all flowers feel shameful” (羞花)
CHINESE CLASSICAL BEAUTY
The standard of Ancient Chinese beauties is based on the aesthetic ideas of Chinese nation and the physiological characteristics of Chinese women. This is because Chinese women have petite stature, black and straight hair, Black or brown eyes,delicate and pale yellows skin, facial contours appear more gentle and lively coordination.
DIAO CHAN
Unlike the other three beauties, there is no known evidence suggesting Diaochan’s existence; she is most likely a fictional character. Diaochan is best known for her role in Luo Guanzhong's historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which romanticises the events in the late Eastern Han dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period. In the novel, she had a romance with the warrior Bu and caused Lü to betray and kill his foster father, the tyrannical warlord Dong Zhuo. The maid's name was not recorded in history. The name "Diaochan", which literally means "sable cicada", is believed to have been derived from the sable tails and jade decorations in the shape of cicadas which adorned the hats of high-ranking officials in the Eastern Han dynasty.

WANG ZHAOJUN
It is said that Wang Zhaojun left her hometown on horseback on a bright autumn morning and began a journey northward. Along the way, the horse neighed, making Zhaojun extremely sad and unable to control her emotions. As she sat on the saddle, she began to play sorrowful melodies on a stringed instrument. A flock of geese flying southward heard the music, saw the beautiful young woman riding the horse, immediately forgot to flap their wings, and fell to the ground. From then on, Zhaojun acquired the nickname "fells geese" or "drops birds."

However, humans who are relatively young, with smooth skin, well-proportioned bodies, and regular features, have traditionally been considered the most beautiful throughout history.
