ZHAI Xiaoqu LI Qiliang Department of Endocrinology, Panyu District Hexian Memorial Hospital, Guangzhou 511400, China [Abstract] Objective To investigate the effects of metformin combined with liraglutide on glucose and lipid metabolism, insulin resistance and serum inflammatory factors in patients with diabetes. Methods 100 patients who underwent diabetes treated in our hospital from January 2018 to December 2018 were selected and randomly divided into a study group and a control group. Patients in the control group were treated with metformin, while patients in the study group were treated with liraglutide combined with metformin. Related indexes of glucose and lipid metabolism, insulin resistance and serum inflammatory factor levels were compared between the two groups. Results The indexes of glucose and lipid metabolism in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.05). After treatment, the levels of fasting insulin (FIns) and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the homeostasis model assessment-β (HOMA-β) condition was significantly higher than that in the control group (P ＜ 0.05); the serum levels of inflammatory factors in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group after treatment (P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion The combined treatment of metformin and liraglutide for diabetic patients can help reduce the related indexes of glucose and lipid metabolism of patients, significantly improve the patient's insulin resistance and reduce the level of inflammatory factors in patients, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
