In the following days, I was more peaceful. I discovered the charm of the mountain natural scenery. I also looked at the world with new feelings. When I saw a grass there grew vigorous and strong, when I saw birds were flying in the sunny sky, I felt that the world was full of positive energy. I felt that there were so many wonderful things in the world worth to live for. The grandfather turned out to be a good storyteller. I asked him if the house was of any value. He announced that he would sell it or rent it if I wanted to. I said jokingly, " how much?" "Five thousand." He answered. "Hundred?" I asked again in routine. "Thousand." And he emphasized his mouth. "Well, it's not expensive." "No, it's the price we bought it for three decades." I was surprised.

One sunny morning of a recent month, with a group of friends, I paid a visit to a historic and cultural town --Tong Cheng Yi Dian which boasted lots of stories dating back thousands of years and this was also the first time ever in my life that I traveled to this mystical town. After inhaling the fresh air and savoring breakfast in a local restaurant, we strolled to see its ancient streets and ruins that were scattered here and there. Various words could be used to describe this town, from intriguing to magnificent, all seem so true enough. Magnificent, the clutch of well-preserved architectural wonders, some dating back to the Han Dynasty, are the perfect testimonies of the history and
culture of those ancestors. The streets and alleyways hold stories of bygone days when the masters and civilizations were in full bloom in years long past.
Ever since I read about this down in my school’s history textbooks, I was desiring to visit it one day, now, I realized my dream and this did not disappoint me in any way. I went to an ancient library located in the town where visitors could have a look at various books and scrolls that have been well taken care of, some date back to more than a thousand years ago. Taking a deep breathe, the delicate aroma of those ancient books into my lungs, and I understood how precious they are. There were also numerous visitors to the town, some foreign, some domestic, all taking pictures of this marvelous and historical town. A special air reeking of history surrounded them.
When dusk was looming, we decided to make our way back to the place we were staying in, a local inn where we had checked in that morning. It was a small inn with well-designed courtyards where we enjoyed dinner together and played cards and jokes. The room was smooth and quiet and we had a sound sleep that night without disturbance at all. It was really an enjoyable and unforgettable experience to visit the town, and I will always remember this trip throughout my life.
