Ⅰ. Teaching procedures
Step 1 Leading in
Task 1: 向学生呈现句子,并观察下列句子,找出划线部分的成分。
1.It’s a red car.
2.They live in the room above.
3.My brother is a teacher.
4.We belong to the third world.
5.Lucy’s father is a poor worker.
6.Mother made a birthday cake for me.
7.The man under the tree is my teacher.
8.The swimming boy is my brother./
9.The boy swimming in the river is my brother.
10. I like music that I can dance to.
通过观察找出定语以及常见的用法。
Task 2: 向学生展示一系列含有对比性的句子,找出定语和定语从句的关系。
I like these famous scientists.
I like scientists who make great contributions to people.
Step 2 Presentation
定语从句:在复合句中,修饰某一名词或代词的从句叫定语从句,被定语从句修饰的词叫先行词。
定语从句一般放在先行词后面,引导定语从句的词叫关系词(关系代词和关系副词),关系词在从句中充当句子成分。
初中阶段重点学习的是关系代词引导的定语从句。
一、关系代词功能:
1. 引导定语从句;
2.代替先行词;
3. 在定语从句中充当一定的句子成分。
引导定语从句的关系代词:
1.当关系代词作主语时:
①who, which 和that 都不可以省略。
②which和that用于指物
③who和that用于指人
2.当关系代词作宾语时:
①who可以变成whom
②which, that, who和whom可以省略
③前面有介词只能用whom和which,不用who和that
只能用关系代词that而不用which的情况:
1)当先行词是all, any, few, little, none, anything, everything, nothing, everybody,
nobody, everyone, no one 或被它们修饰时。
2)当先行词被形容词最高级或序数词修饰时。
3)当先行词有the very, the only, the same, the last等修饰时。
4)有两个或两个以上先行词,兼指人和物时。
只能用关系代词which而不用that的情况:
1)引导非限制性定语从句(主句和从句之间用逗号隔开)时。
2)先行词指物,且关系代词前面有介词时。
3)先行词为that或those时。
二、关系副词的用法
关系副词在定语从句中所作的成份:作状语。
when作时间状语, where作地点状语, why作原因状语。
关系副词when, where, why 和介词+which之间的关系:
关系副词when, where, why可以用适当的介词+which来替代。
如:when=in/on/at … +which
where=in/on/at … +which
why=for+which
“介词+关系代词”即“介词+which”引导定语从句应注意:
介词的选用至少要考虑以下两个因素:
A. 与先行词的搭配关系
B. 与从句谓语动词的搭配习惯
Step 3 Practice
1)观察grammar focus中的句子,并找出定语从句中的关系代词指代什么,在定语从句中作什么成分。
2)用who, that, which填空。
3)Work on 4a: Choose words from the different columns to make sentences.

①让学生根据表格内容,用定语从句写句子,不同的学生有不同的答案。
②让学生体会先行词是物时用that/which引导,先行词是人时,用who/that 引导。
③让学生分享各自的造句,强调一下第三人称单数形式。
4)Work on 4b.
①带领学生找到review的回答中的关键信息
②让学生根据关键信息,按照给出的句子开头,独立完成定语从句。
③找部分同学到黑板上写下自己的答案,共同校正答案。
5)Work on 4c: Make conversations about the kind of things you like and dislike.
A: What kind of food do you enjoy?
B: I enjoy food that is sweet.
