The Situation Of The Third Batch College Students At present, there is a large number of the third batch college students in our campus ,especially some of the popular major recruit third batch college students. However, those students’learning situation is unsettling: such issues as low attendance, high make-up rate, disinterest in the major, etc. have been worrying the university and teachers. With regard to the problems above, we conduct the following interview with some of the third batch college students.
Q:what is your starting point of choosing your major? Did you know much about the major you have chosen before you were admitted?
Answer: The starting point of choosing my major is employment and career prospect. The choice of the major is based on ot hers’ recommendation, not on their own interests.
Q: After admission, how do you further understand your major?
Answer: Through the orientation of major and network, but still feel confusing about the major.
Q: How is the attendance of your class?
Answer: the attendance rate is not high. More than 15% students often play truant. Q: How do you see the phenomenon that students play cell phone in class? Answer: Almost all the students play cell phone in class, it depends closely on the courses and teachers. Less students play mobile phones if they are interested in the course, and very few students play mobile phones in classes taught by teachers who are humorous and witty. But several students play mobile phones regardless the courses.
Q: What suggestions do you have for teachers in the teaching process and about teaching method?
Answers:
1.The teachers shouldn’t bring personal emotions to the classroom.
2.Theory teaching should be combined with practice.
3.The correlation between courses should be reflected.
Q: What do you think are the three things that the university should do for third batch college students?
Answers:
1.More opportunities for students to practice teaching should be provided .
2.More activities which can draw students’ interest should be develop students interest in.
3.A fixed classroom should be provided in order to strengthen the communication among the classmates.
Q:Are you interested in the activities of student union?
Answer: some but not all.
Q：About some activities you are interested in, what kind would you like to participate in?
Answer: Activities about sports
Q：In your spare time, wha would you like to do? and what are you concerned about? Answer: Do exercises outside, and we are concerned ahout sports a lot.
Q：In your opinions, how could college counselors serve for students better? Answer: We are satisfied by the work of our college counselors, but we also hope
that they could supervise every member of our classes more severely.
Q：As college students, what should you do in future?
Answers:
1.we should study hard, so that we can pass every examinnation.
2.we should seize more opportunities to take part in extracurricular technological activities.
3.we want to carve out.
4.we want to exploit more.
5.we will do our best in order not to make parents disappointed.
Conclusion: It is necessary to reform the current mode of education and explore more effective teaching methods.
1.The university s hould cultivate the students’ correct outlook on life and values, help them to establish life goals.
2.The cultivation of students' learning interest and learning ability should be the first priority.
3.Proceeding from the characteristics of the third batch college students, the university should develop teaching plan pertinently, especially pay attention to the practical teaching.。
