1My Hometown of Changle: Then and NowHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. I was born and raised in the small city of Changle in Shandong Province, China. While Changle may not be a huge, famous place, it means the world to me because it's my beloved hometown.I've seen a lot of changes happen here over the years and I want to tell you all about how Changle has changed from the past until now. When I was really little, maybe 4 or 5 years old, Changle felt like a totally different place. Back then, it was a very quiet, rural town with not too many people or cars on the streets. Most of the buildings were old and made of brick or concrete. There were rice paddies and vegetable farms everywhere you looked outside of the town center. My grandparents had a little veggie garden behind their house where they grew delicious tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and more. I loved helping them take care of the plants when I was a tiny kid.Instead of modern shopping malls, we just had a few small markets and street vendors selling fresh produce, meat, noodles and dumplings. My favorite was the dumpling lady who made the most amazing pork and chive dumplings. I could never get enough of those juicy little morsels! For fun, we didn't have big multiplexes showing all the latest movies. We had to make our own fun, playing games like jump rope, kickball andhide-and-seek in the fields and alleyways. Sometimes we'd have outdoor screenings of old movies or Beijing opera performances in the town square on summer nights. As for schools back then, they were very basic with plain buildings, chalkboards instead of smart boards, and not much technology at all. We had to write out all our homework by hand using pencils and paper. Our textbooks were pretty outdated too. But even with the lack of modern tools, my teachers still managed to make learning fun for us through hands-on activities, educational games and creative projects.Nowadays, Changle has transformed into a booming little city that sometimes doesn't even feel like the same place I grew up in! The biggest changes have been all the new construction of apartment and office high-rises, sleek shopping plazas and huge supermarkets replacing the mom-and-pop stores. You can findjust about any western restaurant or cafe here now, like McDonald's, Starbucks, Pizza Hut and more. There's even a massive brand new movie theater that just opened up last year. While the farms used to dominate the landscape, these days it's a forest of skyscrapers, highways and factories as far as the eye can see. My grandparents had to give up their little veggie garden to make room for a new condo development. Sometimes I miss getting my hands dirty pulling up carrots and radishes with them. Speaking of getting around town, you definitely can't get anywhere fast on foot anymore with all the traffic congestion from all the cars and buses zipping around. The roads are a total gridlock most days.Technology has also invaded every aspect of life here, for better or worse. My little cousin who's just starting elementary school has classroom lessons displayed on giant interactive whiteboards. They even get given tablet computers for doing certain assignments and projects! Everything they need to learn is pre-loaded onto the devices. No more scratching away with pencils and paper like I had to. While advanced tech does make some things easier, I worry kids these days miss out on simple joys like seeing a teacher write neat cursive on a chalkboard.Outside of school, every kid seems to be always staring zombie-like at their phones and devices rather than playing outside like we used to. I have to admit,I'm guilty of this too with all the addictive new video games and social apps out there now. Sometimes I really crave those carefree days of riding bikes, climbing trees and using my imagination for playtime adventures. Our favorite park has already been bulldozed to put up another shiny new shopping plaza too.Still, Progress isProgress as they say and not all of Changle's modern changes have been negative. We have amazing new libraries, museums, theaters and art centers that give us more opportunities than ever to learn and be creative. The schools are second-to-none with incredible resources compared to back in the day. There's also no denying the higher standard of living overall with nicer housing, better sanitation and healthcare facilities. Changle has certainly come a very long way! While I'll always look back on my early childhood here with immense fondness, I'm really lucky to experience the best of both worlds in my hometown. The core spirit of hard-working, down-to-earth yet joyful people that makes Changle so special will hopefully persist even as we modernize. I can't wait to seewhat other amazing transformations await this little city I love so dearly in the years ahead!篇2Changyi, My Hometown: Then and NowHi there! My name is Xiaoming, and I'm a 10-year-old boy from Changyi, a small city in Shandong Province, China. I love my hometown dearly, and I'm so excited to share with you how much it has changed over the years! When my grandparents were young, Changyi was just a tiny farming village. Most people worked in the fields, growing crops like wheat, corn, and vegetables. Life was simple but tough. My grandpa told me that they had to walk for miles to get to school, and there was no electricity or modern facilities back then.Grandma often reminisces about how they used to carry water from the well and how they had to light oil lamps at night. She says that the village was so quiet and peaceful, with only the sound of birds chirping and the occasional neighing of horses. As time went by, Changyi started to grow and develop. My parents were born in the 1980s, and they witnessed many changes in the village. More and more factories were built, providing job opportunities for the locals. The streets were paved, and houses were gradually modernized with running water and electricity. One of the biggest changes that my parents experienced was the introduction of television. They used to gather around the only TV set in the neighborhood to watch the news and their favorite shows. It was a community event, and everyone would bring snacks to share.Nowadays, Changyi is almost unrecognizable from the small farming village it once was. It has transformed into a bustling city with tall buildings, shopping malls, and modern infrastructure. The streets are lined with trees and beautiful flower beds, making it a pleasure to walk around. There are parks and playgrounds where kids like me can run and play. My favorite spot is the new sports complex with a swimming pool, basketball courts, and a huge football field. One thing that hasn't changed much is the friendly nature of the people. Whenever I walk down the street, I'm greeted with warm smiles and friendly waves from the shopkeepers and neighbors. It's like one big family in Changyi, and everyone looks out for each other.Speaking of family, my parents and grandparents often tell me stories about how different life was when they were young. I can't even imagine carrying water from a well or not having a television to watch cartoons on!I'm so grateful to live in modern-day Changyi, where I have access to good schools, hospitals, and all the amenities one could want. At the same time, I appreciate the rich history and traditions that my hometown has preserved.During the Spring Festival, we still follow age-old customs like setting off firecrackers, eating dumplings, and performing lion dances. It's a wonderful way to connect with our roots and celebrate our heritage. One of my favorite things about Changyi is the delicious local cuisine. From the famous Changyi noodles to the mouthwatering braised chicken, the flavors here are simply divine. My mom's homemade dumplings are the best in the world, and I could eat them every day!As Changyi continues to grow and develop, I'm excited to see what the future holds. I hope that while embracing modernity, we can also preserve the rich cultural traditions and the warm, community spirit that makes our city so special.I'm proud to call Changyi my hometown, and I can't wait to explore all the new opportunities and adventures that lie ahead. Who knows, maybe one day I'll become a famous writer or scientist and put Changyi on the global map!For now, I'll cherish every moment in this wonderful city, surrounded by loved ones and embracing the perfect blend of old and new. Changyi will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'm grateful to be a part of its amazing journey.篇3The Transformation of My Hometown: Changan County, Shandong ProvinceHi there! My name is Xiao Ming, and I'm a nine-year-old boy from Changan County, a small but beautiful place in Shandong Province, China. I'd like to share with you the amazing changes my hometown has gone through over the years. When my grandparents were young, Changan County was a quiet and traditional rural area. Most people made a living by farming and raising animals. Life was simple but hard. My grandpa often tells me stories about how he had to walk for miles to school every day, rain or shine. There were no paved roads, and the streets were muddy after a rainstorm.Back then, Changan County was surrounded by vast fields of wheat, corn, and vegetables. The air was fresh, and the night sky was filled with countless twinkling stars. However, there were few modern facilities, and people lived in humble houses made of bricks and clay.As time passed, our county started to change. When my parents were young, more and more factories were built, providing job opportunities for the locals. The economy began to grow, and people's living standards improved. My dad remembers the excitement when the first television set appeared in their neighborhood. Everyone gathered around to watch the programs, which were a novelty at the time.Nowadays, Changan County has transformed into a bustling and modern place. The once muddy streets have been replaced by smooth roads, and tall buildings have sprung up everywhere. We even have our own shopping malls, cinemas, and parks! One of the most significant changes in my hometown is the development of transportation. When I was little, there were only a few buses running on fixed routes. Now, we have a brand-new subway system that connects different parts of the county efficiently. It's so convenient for everyone to travel around.Another remarkable change is the improvement in education. The old school buildings have been renovated, and new schools with state-of-the-art facilities have been built. We have access to computers, libraries, and laboratories, which were unimaginable for my grandparents' generation. Our county has also become more environmentally friendly. There are now strict regulations to control pollution, and many families have installed solar panels on their roofs to use clean energy. The government has also created more green spaces, such as parks and gardens, where people can enjoy fresh air and relax.Despite all these changes, Changan County has managed to preserve its rich cultural heritage. Traditional festivals and customs are still celebrated with great enthusiasm. The local cuisine is as delicious as ever, and the friendly and hospitable spirit of the people remains unchanged. As I walk through the streets of my hometown, I篇4My Hometown: Changyie Then and NowHi there! My name is Xiaoming, and I'm a 10-year-old boy from Changyie, a small town in Shandong Province, China. Today, I want to share with you how my hometown has changed over the years, from the stories my grandparents told me to the reality I see today. When my grandparents were young, Changyie was a very different place. It was a quiet, rural town surrounded by fields and farmlands. Most people worked as farmers, growing crops like wheat, corn, and vegetables. Life was simple but hard, with no modern conveniences like electricity or running water. My grandpa often tells me stories about how they used to fetch water from the village well every day. He and his siblings would take turns carrying the heavy buckets back home, sometimes walking for miles. At night, they would light oil lamps or candles, as there was no electricity in those days.Grandma talks about how they used to cook on a traditional clay stove, burning firewood or coal. She remembers spending hours grinding grains by hand to make flour for bread and noodles. Everything was done manually, from washing clothes in the river to plowing the fields with oxen.Transportation was also very different back then. Most people walked or rode bicycles to get around. My grandparentssay that owning a car was a luxury that only the richest families could afford. They would sometimes take a horse-drawn cart or a bus to go to the nearest big city, which was a whole day's journey away.Despite the hardships, my grandparents remember their childhood fondly. They talk about the close-knit community, where everyone knew each other and helped one another. Neighbors would gather in the evenings to chat, sing, and play traditional games. As I was growing up, I witnessed Changyie slowly transforming into a modern town. Electricity and running water became available in every household. Paved roads were built, and more people started owning cars and motorcycles.New buildings, schools, and hospitals were constructed, replacing the old structures. Farms gave way to factories and businesses, as people shifted from agriculture to industries and services. One of the biggest changes I noticed was the rise of technology. Suddenly, everyone had smartphones and computers. The internet brought the world to our doorstep, and we could learn about different cultures and places with just a few clicks.Today, Changyie is almost unrecognizable from the town my grandparents grew up in. Modern high-rise apartments stand where old houses once stood. Sleek cars and buses fill the streets, replacing the bicycles and horse-drawn carts of the past. However, some things remain the same. The friendly,close-knit community spirit is still alive, and people still gather in the evenings to socialize and play traditional games. The local markets still sell fresh produce from nearby farms, reminding us of our agricultural roots. While progress and development are important, I hope Changyie never loses its charm and traditions. I want to hold on to the stories and values my grandparents passed down to me, even as we embrace the changes of the modern world.Who knows what the future holds for my beloved hometown? Maybe one day, we'll have flying cars and robots doing our chores! But no matter how advanced Changyie becomes, I'll always cherish the memories of its simpler, humble beginnings.篇5Changan: Then and NowHi there! My name is Xiao Ming, and I'm a 10-year-old student from Changan, a city in Shandong Province, China. Today, I want to share with you how my hometown has changed over the years. It's been an incredible journey, and I'm so excited to tell you all about it!When my grandparents were young, Changan was a small, quiet town surrounded by fields and farms. Life was simple back then, and everyone knew each other. My grandpa often tells me stories about how he used to help his parents work in the fields, planting and harvesting crops like wheat, corn, and vegetables. In those days, there were no tall buildings or fancy cars on the streets. People lived in traditional houses made of bricks and tiles, with courtyards where they could relax and chat with neighbors. The town center was a bustling market, where farmers would sell their fresh produce, and local artisans would display their handmade crafts.Transportation was also very different. Most people walked or rode bicycles to get around. My grandma remembers how her family would sometimes hire a horse-drawn cart to carry heavy loads or travel longer distances. Imagine that – a real horse pulling a cart!As time passed, Changan began to change. New factories and businesses started to open, bringing more jobs and opportunities to the area. My parents were part of this transformation. They both found work in the growing textile industry, which became one of the town's major economic drivers. With more people moving to Changan for work, the town started to expand. New neighborhoods sprang up, and the once-quiet streets became busier with cars and buses. I remember my mom telling me how excited she was when they got their first television set – it was a huge deal back then!Today, Changan is almost unrecognizable from the town my grandparents knew. It has become a modern, thriving city with skyscrapers, shopping malls, and highways. The old markets have been replaced by supermarkets and big chain stores, and the textile factories have given way to high-tech industries and service companies. One of the most significant changes is the introduction of technology. When I was born, computers and smartphones were already common, but now they're a part of everyday life. I use my tablet for schoolwork, and my friends and I love playing onlinegames together. We can even video chat with relatives who live far away!Despite all these changes, some things have stayed the same. The people of Changan are still friendly and welcoming, and we take great pride in our city's rich history and traditions. During festivals like the Spring Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival, we continue to celebrate with age-old customs, like lighting lanterns and eating delicious local dishes.I love learning about how Changan used to be from my grandparents' stories. It's amazing to see how much has changed in just a few generations. Who knows what the future holds for our city? Maybe one day, we'll have flying cars or buildings that can move! Whatever happens, I'm sure Changan will keep growing and evolving, while still holding on to its roots. That's my story about the transformation of Changan from the past to the present. I hope you enjoyed learning about my hometown and how it has changed over time. Remember, even though the world keeps changing, the important things – like family, traditions, and a sense of community – will always remain the same.篇6My Hometown: Changan County, Then and NowHi there! My name is Xiao Ming, and I'm a 10-year-old boy from Changan County, which is a place in Shandong Province, China. I love my hometown, and I'd like to tell you about how it has changed over the years.Changan County has a long history that stretches back for centuries. When I was younger, my grandparents used to tell me stories about what life was like in the old days. Back then, most people in Changan were farmers, and they worked really hard to grow crops like wheat, corn, and vegetables. The villages in Changan used to be quite small, with just a few hundred people living in each one. The houses were made of mud bricks and had thatched roofs. There were no modern conveniences like running water or electricity, so people had to fetch water from wells and use oil lamps for light. My grandparents said that life was tough back then, but everyone in the village looked out for one another. They would help each other with the farm work and share what little food they had. During the holidays, the whole village would come together to celebrate with singing, dancing, and feasting.Nowadays, things in Changan County have changed a lot. The villages have grown much bigger, and there are even some small towns now. Many people have moved away from farming and now work in factories or run their own businesses. The houses in Changan are very different too. Most of them are made of bricks and concrete, with tiled roofs and glass windows. They have running water, electricity, and even air conditioning! Some families even have their own cars and televisions. One of the biggest changes in Changan County has been the improvement in transportation. When my grandparents were young, the only way to get around was by walking or riding a bicycle. The roads were just dirt paths, and they would get really muddy and slippery whenever it rained. But now, there are paved roads connecting all the villages and towns in Changan. There are even buses and taxis that can take you places. This has made it much easier for people to travel and visit their relatives or go to the city for work or shopping.Another big change has been the construction of new schools and hospitals in Changan County. Back in the old days, there were only a few small schools, and they didn't have manyresources or good teachers. If someone got really sick, they would have to travel for hours to the nearest hospital. But now, there are several modern schools in Changan, with well-equipped classrooms and qualified teachers. There are also clinics and hospitals in every town, so people can get medical care much more easily.Despite all these changes, there are still some things about Changan County that have stayed the same. The people here are still very friendly and welcoming, just like they were in the old days. And during the holidays, everyone still comes together to celebrate with traditional dances, songs, and delicious food. One of my favorite things about Changan is the beautiful countryside. Even though there are more buildings and roads now, there are still plenty of fields, hills, and forests. In the spring, the whole landscape is covered in colorful flowers, and in the fall, the leaves turn vibrant shades of red and gold.I feel really lucky to have grown up in Changan County. It's a place with a rich history and culture, but it's also changing and growing all the time. I'm excited to see what other changes will happen in the future, and I hope that Changan will continue to be a wonderful place to live for many years to come.。
