对富人征税救济穷人的英文小作文

对富人征税救济穷人的英文小作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Taxing the Rich to Help the PoorHave you ever thought about how some people have tons of money and others don't have hardly any? My mom says the difference between rich and poor is really unfair. The rich live in huge fancy houses and go on amazing vacations while the poor struggle to pay rent and buy food. It doesn't seem right that some people have wayyyy more than they need while others don't have enough. That's why I think we should tax the rich more and use that money to help the poor people. My dad is always complaining about how much he has to pay in taxes every year. But I don't feel too bad for rich people like him having to pay a lot in taxes. After all, they already make so much money in the first place. What's wrong with them paying a bigger share to people in need? The Bible even says we should help the poor and less fortunate. It's the right thing to do.Imagine if Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos had to pay like 90% of their income in taxes? They would still be super duper rich, with moremoney than they could ever spend. But that huge amount of tax money from them could build a million homes for the homeless or feed kids who don't have enough to eat. It could pay for poor people's medical care or help struggling families get back on their feet after hard times. Some people argue that raising taxes on the wealthy will hurt the economy and cause job losses. But I don't really buy that. After all, no billionaire actually works a billion times harder than the average employee. A lot of their money comes from investments and owning things, not from doing labor. So taking some of that unearned wealth away in taxes wouldn't necessarily mean fewer jobs get created. And even if higher taxes did slow economic growth a little bit, I think that's ok if it means alleviating extreme poverty and suffering for millions of people. What good is a super efficient economy if there are homeless kids living in the streets and families going hungry? An economy should work for everyone, not just make a few people obscenely rich while leaving others in misery. It's not just individual billionaires who could pay more taxes, but also big profitable corporations. Why do huge companies like Amazon get away with paying so little in taxes when theymake billions upon billions in profits? That money should go towards helping societies instead of accumulating in corporate bank accounts. With the amount of money the richest people and companies have, we could easily afford amazing things like free healthcare, free college tuition, housing for the homeless, and cool public transit systems for everyone. But instead, poor families are stuck with crummy schools and can barely afford to go to the doctor. Meanwhile, rich people get to live in luxury while horading more and more wealth they'll never actually use. It's greed!I'm not saying we should tax people to the point where nobody wants to work hard or be successful. And very poor people shouldn't have to pay much in taxes at all. But billionaires? They could easily afford to pay 99% tax rates and still be fabulously wealthy. It's common sense - we should take excess money from those who have too much and give it to those who have too little. Wouldn't you want your extra Halloween candy given to kids who didn't get any if you had tons left over? It's the same basic principle. Some kids at my school make fun of me for these beliefs and call me a "communist." But I think it's just common decency tolook after your fellow human beings who are less fortunate. Why should a small number of people hoard massive fortunes while others struggle to survive? It's greed, plain and simple.Maybe you're reading this and thinking "That second-grader doesn't know what he's talking about. How could a kid understand economics and taxes?" And it's true, a lot of the technical details on tax policy go over my head. But I do understand fairness and looking after people in need. Those are some of the most basic moral principles we're all taught from a young age.So while I may not fully grasp all the numbers and economics, I do know it's wrong for there to be people living in unimaginable luxury while others are suffering in extreme poverty, in the richest country in the world no less. We have the resources to greatly reduce economic inequality and deprivation, we just lack the willpower from our leaders to actually fix the problem. Heavily taxing the ultra-wealthy is just common sense and human decency. In conclusion, we totally need to raise taxes on the richest people and companies in America and use that money to help the millions of poor people and homeless people and struggling families. Yeah, maybe it's an oversimplified kid's perspective, butsometimes the simplest solutions are what we need most. Tax the super rich, help the poor - what could be more obvious than that? Sure, a 99% tax rate on billionaires may sound extreme, but is it really more extreme than the extreme unfairness of some people having billions upon billions while others don't have enough food to eat? I don't think so.The grown-ups always say things like "Ohhh taxes are so complicated, we need to incentivize innovation, consider the effects on the economy, blah blah blah." I call baloney! They're just making excuses instead of doing the moral, ethical thing and looking after people in need with the insane amounts of wealth hoarded by a tiny slice of society. Us kids are taught to share and be kind to those less fortunate than us from day one. Maybe the adults should re-learn those simple childhood lessons.篇2Taxing the Rich to Help the PoorHi, my name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to talk about why we should tax rich people more to get money to help poor people. It's not fair that some people have huge houses and lots of fancy cars while others don't have enough food or a safe place to live. The rich should pay more taxes so wecan use that money to make things better for people who don't have very much.First of all, let me explain what taxes are. Taxes are money that people and businesses have to pay to the government. The government uses that money to pay for important things like roads, schools, hospitals, parks, and helping people who really need it. Rich people pay taxes too, but not as much as they should compared to how much money they have. There are people out there who are called billionaires. That means they have more than a billion dollars! A billion is a really, really big number - it's a 1 with nine zeroes after it. Can you even imagine having that much money? More money than you could ever spend, even if you tried really hard. Yet some people still have way more than a billion dollars. At the same time, there are kids my age and even younger who don't have a home or enough to eat. Their parents might have lost their jobs or gotten really sick and cannot afford basic things anymore. That's not right. No kid should have to go hungry or live on the streets when there are people out there with more money than they could ever need. The ultra-rich people often pay lower tax rates than regular people too. That means they pay a smaller percentage of theirincome in taxes than a teacher or nurse does on their much, much smaller income. How is that fair? The super wealthy can easily afford to pay a lot more in taxes without it really affecting their lifestyle at all.If we raised taxes on billionaires and multi-millionaires, we could put that money towards programs to end hunger and homelessness. We could build affordable housing units so families have a safe place to live. We could pay for food banks and meal programs so kids don't go to bed hungry. We could increase funding for shelters and services for people living on the streets. We could also use the extra tax money from rich people to improve public schools, especially in poorer neighborhoods. We could pay teachers more, buy new books and computers, and make sure all kids have equal opportunities no matter how much money their parents make. Schools in wealthy areas always seem to have way more resources.Another good idea would be to use some of the tax money from the wealthy to help protect the environment too. We could spend more on clean energy like solar and wind power so we don't keep polluting the air and water. We could clean up trash and plastic from beaches and parks. We could plant more trees.Keeping our air and water clean is important for everyone, but especially for people living in cities who maybe can't afford air filters or to go somewhere with fresher air.Speaking of health, we desperately need to improve healthcare for poor people too. Having to choose between paying rent or taking your sick kid to the doctor is an awful decision no parent should have to make. We could use tax money from the super rich to make healthcare more affordable for everyone. Why should someone be allowed to buy their third private jet while a baby has to go without vaccinations or medical treatment?I know some people might say that extremely rich people earned their money fair and square, so the government shouldn't take it from them by raising their taxes. But think about it - did they really do absolutely everything completely on their own with zero help or advantages? Their companies' products get shipped on public roads. They benefited from attending good public schools when they were kids. They take advantage of parks, public libraries, police and fire services too. Why shouldn't they pay back more into the system that allowed them to become so successful? No one is saying we should tax people into poverty or take every single penny from the rich. But when some people are living in unimaginable luxury while others are struggling just to survive, that's not okay. We need to find a better balance.Multi-billionaires could still easily live like kings even if they paid way more in taxes. The money could transform lives for millions in poverty. It's the right thing to do to make sure no one has to suffer from hunger, homelessness, lack of healthcare or opportunity just because they were born into a low income family. Every kid deserves a good start in life with decent housing, nutrition, education and healthcare. We're the richest country in the world - we can afford to take better care of our people, especially the kids. We just need to ask our wealthiest citizens to pay their fair share in taxes. Those are my thoughts, anyway. I don't think it's too much to ask of people with practically limitless money to pay more taxes so their fellow Americans can have basic necessities and a better chance at a good life. I sure hope our leaders will listen to kids like me and do what's right for everyone, not just what's right for billionaires. Thanks for reading my essay!篇3Taxing the Rich to Help the PoorHave you ever stopped to think about how some people have big fancy houses and lots of money, while others don't even have a home or enough food to eat? It doesn't seem very fair, does it? Well, I've been learning about this thing called "taxing the rich" that could maybe make things a bit more equal. You see, when people make a lot of money, the government takes a portion of it in taxes. The more money you make, the more taxes you pay. This money goes towards important things like schools, roads, hospitals, and helping people in need. But some people think that rich folks should pay even higher taxes so that more can be done to help poor people get access to food, housing, healthcare and education.Imagine there was a super duper rich person who had like a trillion dollars! That's way more money than anybody could ever need. With that much money, they could buy a thousand mansions and never run out. Meanwhile, there are kids out there who don't have a real home or enough to eat. Doesn't that seem unfair? If that very rich person paid a bit more in taxes, that extra money could go towards building affordable housing, subsidizing groceries, providing free healthcare, and improvingschools in poor neighborhoods. Just a small slice of their treasures could make a huge difference for families struggling to get by.Of course, nobody likes paying taxes - even regular people grumble about it. The rich folks might complain that it's their money and they earned it fair and square. But think about it this way - having a ton of money is kind of like being really good at a video game. You worked hard to get there, sure, but you also benefited from being born into the right circumstances with the right opportunities. Not everyone gets an equal start in life. While rich people did work hard, they also had a lot of luck and advantages that many others simply don't get. Like being born into a wealthy family, going to great schools, having good healthcare, never worrying about money for food or rent, and getting some pretty awesome head starts unavailable to poor kids. When you have that much privilege, doesn't it seem right to share a bit more of your fortune to level the playing field? That's why I think taxing the super wealthy just a bit more is a really good idea. It's not about punishing success - it's about making sure everyone has access to basic needs and decent opportunities in life. With that little extra help, families who are struggling could afford stable housing, nutritious food, qualityeducation and healthcare. Their kids would then have a better chance at future篇4Taxing the Rich to Help the PoorHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to talk to you about an important issue – taxing rich people more in order to help poor people. It's something that a lot of grown-ups argue about, but I think even kids can understand it.First off, what does it mean to be rich or poor? Rich people have a lot of money and can afford big houses, fancy cars, and anything else they want to buy. Poor people don't have much money at all, and sometimes they can't even afford basic things like enough food or a safe place to live. It's really unfair that some people have SO much money while others have hardly any.I'm lucky because my parents have good jobs and we're not rich but we're not poor either. We live in a nice house and I always have clothes and toys and enough to eat. But I know there are lots of kids out there who aren't so lucky. Just think how horrible it would be to go hungry or not have a warm bed to sleep in! No kid should have to live like that. The thing is, there's something called taxes that everybody has to pay. Taxes are money that gets taken out of the paycheck that grown-ups get from their job. The government uses that money to pay for important things like roads, schools, hospitals, and helping people who need it. Well, my idea is that rich people should have to pay higher taxes so that more of their money can go towards helping poor people get basic stuff like food and housing. Why should rich people pay more taxes? Well, think about it - if you had a billion dollars, even if you paid way more money in taxes than a normal person, you'd still be totally rich! You could still afford pretty much whatever you want. But for someone who's poor, even a few extra dollars can make a huge difference in being able to buy groceries or pay the rent. It's only fair that people who can easily afford it chip in more to make sure everyone has their basic needs covered. Some people might argue that rich people already pay a lot in taxes and it's not fair to make them pay even more. But in my opinion, when some people have SO much money while others have practically nothing, the fair thing is for the ultra-wealthy folks to share more of their wealth. Nobody needs a billion dollars to live a comfortable life. And remember, even if they payhigher taxes, rich people would still be able to live in huge houses and buy whatever toys or vacations they want. They'd just pay a bit more of their money towards helping others instead of keeping it all for themselves.I think篇5Helping the Poor by Taxing the RichMy name is Jamie and I'm in 5th grade. Today my teacher asked us to write about what we think the government should do to help poor people. I think the government should tax rich people more and use that money to help poor families. Here's why I believe this is a good idea.First of all, there are a lot of rich people out there with tons and tons of money. I'm talking about billionaires and multimillionaires. People with huge mansions, yachts, private jets, and fancy cars. People who could never possibly spend all their money, even if they tried really hard.At the same time, there are also tons of poor people who can barely afford basic things like food, housing, healthcare, and education for their kids. Poor families live in run-downapartments or even homeless shelters. They skip meals because they can't afford enough food. Poor kids might not have access to good schools or get proper medical care when they're sick. It's not fair that some people have wayyyy more money than they could ever need, while others struggle just to survive. The rich can buy literally anything they want, but the poor can't even cover their basic needs. That's why I think we need to take some of the money from the super rich and give it to people in poverty. If we increased taxes on the wealthiest people, the government could collect a bunch more money from them. Since they already have millions or billions, paying some extra taxes wouldn't really hurt them that much. They'd still be extremely rich afterwards. But that extra tax money could make a huge difference for poor families. The government could use the tax money to pay for things like affordable housing, food assistance, better schools, job training, healthcare, and other programs to help lift people out of poverty. With a bit of financial help, poor families could get back on their feet, get good jobs, give their kids opportunities, and work their way into the middle class over time.I know some people might argue that taxing the rich more is unfair because they earned their money. And it's true, a lot of rich people worked really hard to get where they are through brilliant ideas, daring risks, and tireless effort. People like tech billionaires, famous entrepreneurs, and business tycoons. They absolutely deserve to be rewarded for their hard work, smarts, and success. But here's the thing - when you become stupid rich, like having a net worth of over a billion dollars, at some point you've made it. You won the game of life and then some. You'll never have to worry about money again, and neither will your kids or grandkids. An extra few million or billion in taxes isn't going to drastically change your ultra-wealthy lifestyle. You'll still be able to buy whatever you want and live in insane luxury.Meanwhile, that same few million or billion could literally save lives by providing food, shelter, and medical care for thousands of impoverished families. To me, it seems like the ethical thing to do is to use just a small slice of the ridiculous fortunes of the mega-rich to improve the lives of the nation's poorest people. By paying a bit more in taxes, the ultra-wealthy could dramatically reduce extreme poverty, hunger, homelessness, and needless suffering for millions.I get that people want to keep as much of their hard-earned money as possible. Nobody likes paying taxes. But the rich already pay way lower tax rates than ordinary working people. While a middle-class family might pay 25-30% of their income in taxes, billionaires often pay less than 20% and sometimes even below篇6Taxing the Rich to Help the PoorHi everyone! My name is Jamie and I'm in 5th grade. Today I want to talk about something really important – helping people who don't have enough money to live a good life. There are a lot of poor people out there who can't afford basics like food, shelter, and medical care. At the same time, there are super rich people who have way more money than they need. I think we should tax the rich more to get that extra money they don't really need, and use it to help the poor people who really need it.My mom works two jobs but we're still pretty poor. Sometimes we have to skip meals because we can't afford enough food. Sometimes the heat or electricity gets turned off because we can't pay the bills. It's really hard and stressful. But I know there are people who have it even worse than us – like kidswho have no home at all and live on the streets. That's just not fair or right in a rich country like ours.At the same time, there are people who have literally billions and billions of dollars. More money than they could ever possibly spend in their whole lives or their kids' lives or their grandkids' lives. They have giant mansions and yachts and private jets. Just one of those billionaires could help thousands of poor families if we asked them to share just a little bit of their money that they don't need. But billionaires don't like to share their money, even though they have so much of it. They want to keep it all for themselves. That's why I think the government needs to tax them more and take a bigger share of their riches that they're never gonna use anyway. We should raise the taxes on folks who make over like 10 million dollars a year, and use that extra tax money for things that help poor people. With that extra tax money from the super-rich, we could have programs that give poor families food stamps and housing vouchers so they have enough to eat and a safe place to live. We could help poor kids go to better schools and get a good education. We could build clinics and hospitals in poor neighborhoods so poor people can get medical treatment. There's so much good we could do if we just took a little slice of these huge fortunes that people are sitting on and putting it toward helping those in need. Some people say it's not fair to tax people too much, even if they're super rich. They say those billionaires earned their money fair and square and deserve to keep it. But I think when you have literally billions upon billions of dollars, you don't need any more. It's greedy to hoard that much money when there are people struggling to survive. At some point, you're rich enough and it's time to share the wealth with those in need.Plus, I think both rich and poor people benefit when we have a society with less poverty. When poor families get the help they need and can afford basics like food, housing, and healthcare, their kids can study harder and get good jobs when they grow up instead of being stuck in poverty. They can become productive members of society and good citizens. Crime would go down because people wouldn't be so desperate due to poverty. The whole community and whole country does better when we take care of everyone and give everyone a chance at a decent life. That's why I believe so strongly that we need to tax billionaires and the ultra-wealthy way more than we currently do.Giant personal fortunes are immoral when there are people lacking basic necessities all around us. A small percentage of those billions of dollars could change so many lives and solve so much poverty, hunger, homelessness, and suffering. And in the end, those super-rich folks would still be incredibly wealthy - they just wouldn't be greedily hoarding way more than they could ever need while their fellow human beings go without.Even as a kid, I can see how messed up that is. Having a few billionaires while millions。

孔雀东南飞关于告诫后人的英语作文

孔雀东南飞关于告诫后人的英语作文

孔雀东南飞关于告诫后人的英语作文英文回答:The ancient Chinese folk ballad "Kong Que Dong Nan Fei" (孔雀东南飞) is a poignant tale of love, tragedy, and the enduring consequences of familial strife. The ballad's tragic ending serves as a cautionary tale, warning readers of the devastating effects of blind adherence to tradition, the importance of filial piety, and the need for compassion and understanding in human relationships. The ballad's central message is that blind adherence to tradition can lead to disastrous consequences. Liu Lan Zhi and her husband, Jiao Zhongqing, are deeply in love, but their families oppose their marriage because of social status and wealth differences. Despite their pleas, LanZhi's parents force her to marry another man, leading to her tragic death. This tragedy could have been avoided if both families had been more open-minded and willing to consider the happiness of their children above all else.Another important theme in the ballad is the importance of filial piety, a core value in traditional Chinese culture. Lan Zhi and Zhongqing are both devoted to their parents and struggle to reconcile their filial duties with their own desires. Ultimately, their loyalty to their families leads to their downfall. However, the ballad also suggests that filial piety should not be blind obedience but rather a balanced approach that allows for individual happiness and personal autonomy. Finally, the ballad emphasizes the need for compassion and understanding in human relationships. Lan Zhi and Zhongqing's tragic deaths highlight the devastating consequences of misunderstandings, prejudice, and a lack of empathy. The ballad implores readers to approach others with kindness and understanding, even when faced with adversity or disagreement. In conclusion, "Kong Que Dong Nan Fei" serves as a timeless cautionary tale, reminding readers of the dangers of blind adherence to tradition, the importance of balancedfilial piety, and the need for compassion and understanding in human relationships. By understanding and reflecting upon the ballad's lessons, we can strive to create a more harmonious and fulfilling society.中文回答:《孔雀东南飞》是一首古老的中国民间叙事诗,讲述了一个爱情、悲剧和家庭纷争持久后果的凄美故事。

Opinions should be allowed

Opinions should be allowed

Opinions should be allowed---Give the academic freedom back to studentsGood afternoon, everyone. Today, I’m going to talk about academic freedom with you.At the beginning of my speech, I would like to share a story with you. A student in East China Normal University one day indicated that a teacher should not put her own personal ideas into the political class to let the students agree with and accept to her teacher who just did such things so often. Just because of that, the students got threat from the teacher and menaced to leave the class if the student did not satisfy with her class. As we all known, academic freedom refers to the freedom of teachers and students to teach, study, and pursue knowledge and research without unreasonable interference or restriction from law, institutional regulations, or public pressure. For students, the basic elements include the freedom to study subjects that concern them and to form conclusions for themselves and express their opinions. The proposal of academic freedom striking upon human mind can be traced back to the Medieval Ages in Europe. Till now, it gets several-century history, though, however, academic freedom seems not to have been polished as we all expected among the longterm baptisms. Students, who arerepressed to speak out their own opinions, inculcated lots of absolute doctrines from the textbooks or some old-fashioned morals, have rare freedom at all. We have to select words prudently and structure the sentences carefully before putting forward in case of defying the superiors. In fact, there were some periods that the academic freedom gratified the students. For instance, in the ancient times, the period of contention of a hundred schools of thoughts in the era of Spring and Autumn witnessed lots of great masters engaging in various fields springing up, such as Confucius, Mencius, and Hanfeizi, who left enormous fortunes to the foundation of Chinese values and cultures. It was true that their productive achievements should be attributed to the open, non-disciplined society where no tyrannic force intervened their thoughts, reigned their thinking, so much so that they had great opportunity to propose their ideas.Let’s look back to nowadays, most students are apt to keep dumb in front of the public, superiors and government, which, in fact, should blame to the cultivations which rootedly affect us from the first day we walked into the gate of learning. For that, what actions should be come out?As an administrator, if you lie down less disciplines, we certainly will get a larger space to activate our creativities, our mind may meander hither and thither bringing something novel which someday may color human life greatly. The law of gravity may never be found, if Newton were told that the falling apple was an evil. If you keep a descriptive but not a prescriptiveattitude toward what we have done or said, we will improve ourselves spontaneously with different initial ways rather than imitate the correct ways in your eyes according to the rules. If you incline to spur the students to express the personal opinions but not only some empty talks, then there will be more pragmatists in the society. If you recognize creative answers from students, someday ideologists or inventors perhaps spring up like the bamboos shooting after a spring rain.Yes, students need academic freedom, we need to express, we need to be recognized. If more academic freedom allowed, can a creative society which all of us expect be far away?。

儿孙自有儿孙福莫为儿孙作远忧英文发言稿

儿孙自有儿孙福莫为儿孙作远忧英文发言稿

儿孙自有儿孙福莫为儿孙作远忧英文发言稿The blessing of children and grandchildren is a concept that has been cherished throughout human history. The saying "儿孙自有儿孙福" reflects the belief that each generation will find its own path to happiness and fulfillment, and that parents and grandparents need not worry excessively about the future of their descendants. This is a valuable perspective that can provide comfort and wisdom to those navigating the joys and challenges of family life. One of the key insights behind this saying is the recognition that each person's journey is unique. Just as no two snowflakes are exactly alike, no two lives will unfold in precisely the same way. While parents and grandparents may have hopes and dreams for their children and grandchildren, ultimately those individuals must find their own way in the world. Trying to control or dictate their paths can be counterproductive, leading to resentment and a stifling of their natural potential.Instead, the wisest approach is to offer guidance, support, and unconditional love, while trusting that the younger generations willdiscover their own strengths, passions, and paths to fulfillment. This doesn't mean that parents and grandparents should be completely hands-off – there is still an important role to play in nurturing, teaching, and providing a stable foundation. However, it does mean letting go of the need to orchestrate every aspect of their lives. When we embrace this mindset, it frees us from the burden of excessive worry and allows us to fully appreciate the blessings that children and grandchildren bring. Rather than agonizing over their futures, we can savor the present moments, reveling in the joy, laughter, and wonder that they inspire. We can take pride in their unique talents and accomplishments, knowing that they are blossoming into the individuals they were meant to be.Moreover, this perspective can foster a deeper sense of connection and understanding between the generations. By respecting the autonomy of our descendants, we create an environment where they feel empowered to make their own choices and pursue their own dreams. This, in turn, can strengthen the bonds of family, as the younger generations feel genuinely supported and understood, rather than stifled or controlled.Of course, this is not to say that the journey of parenthood and grandparenthood is without its challenges. There will inevitably be moments of worry, uncertainty, and even heartbreak. But byembracing the wisdom of "儿孙自有儿孙福," we can navigate those challenges with greater equanimity and resilience. We can trust that, even in the face of adversity, our children and grandchildren possess the inherent capacity to find their own path to fulfillment. In conclusion, the saying "儿孙自有儿孙福" is a profound and reassuring reminder that we need not worry excessively about the future of our descendants. By trusting in their ability to find their own way, and by offering them the support and love they need to thrive, we can experience the true blessings of family. In doing so, we not only nurture the growth of the younger generations, but also cultivate a deeper sense of connection and appreciation within our own lives.。

Book 6Unit 2PoemsⅠ.阅读理解A(建议用时8′)(2015·重庆杨家坪中学高三月考)Proverbs are popular around the world. Many proverbs give advice about how to live. Some proverbs are hundreds of years old,but they are still used today. For example,my son is just like his father in many ways.We often say the two of them prove the proverb that “the apple does not fall far from the tree”.My daughter is very short. She would like to be taller. But I tell her that “good things come in small packages”.The size of something is not always important. Some valuable things are very small, like diamonds and other jewels. But I also tell my children that “all that glitters is not gold”.Do not be fooled by appearances.Something may look valuable, but may not really be valuable. Also,I tell them “do not judge a book by its cover”.You should not judge something only by its appearance.Another proverb is “do not bite off more than you can chew”.This means do not try to do more than you are able to do.Sometimes I tell my children to cooperate to solve a problem. After all,“two heads are better than one”.Two people working together can get better results. But another proverb says “too many cooks spoil the broth”.If too many people try to do something, then the job will not be done well.I also tell my children that “two wrongs do not make a right”.You should not do something bad just because someone did the same to you. Some people often worry about what they will do in a situation that might happen in the future. We could tell them “do not cross that bridge until you come to it”.Finally,I always like this proverb:“You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar”.Honey is sweet while vinegar is not.In other words, you can win people over to your side more easily with gentle persuasion than by unfriendly actions.1.The mother tells her daughter the proverb “good things come in small packages”to .A.make fun of her B.comfort herC.discourage her D.praise her2.Tom will learn three foreign languages at the same time, and his father tells him “”.A.all that glitters is not goldB.do not judge a book by its coverC.two heads are better than oneD.do not bite off more than you can chew3.Tony never worries about his future as he believes the saying “”.A.you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegarB.the apple does not fall far from the treeC.do not cross that bridge until you come to itD.good things come in small packages4.What’s the purpose of the author in writing this passage?A.To give advice on how to deal with others.B.To teach readers how to judge right from wrong.C.To introduce some proverbs on daily life.D.To tell the differences between some proverbs.B(建议用时7′)(2015·河北邯郸高三摸底)Next time you hear a funny joke you’d better not laugh too hard.According to a paper published by the British Medical Journal, laughter isn’t always the best medicine.Sometimes it can even be harmful.Professor Robin Ferner from the University of Birmingham, one of the authors of the study, found that bad things could happen to people who laughed too much.He says,“We found people with heartbeat problems which had stopped their heart,we found people who had fainted(昏倒),and we found people who’d dislocated their jaws or burst their lungs.”It seems that laughing can be no laughing matter. But it’s not all doom and gloom.Professor Ferner says there are benefits to laughing when you want to lose weight, for example.Yes,that’s right:laugh and be slimmer! Professor Ferner explains that,“You use energy when you laugh, you move your diaphragm(横膈膜),you expand your lungs, and both those things can be helpful.”According to the research, laughing for a quarter of an hour can burn up to 40 calories, and if you laughed all day you’d use up about 2,000 calories, which is what most people consume in a day.But don’t do that or you might end up with a painful jaw.Ouch! Or you might find people looking at you in a funny way.But I don’t want to finish this article leaving you feeling ughter comes naturallyfor most of us.Babies begin to laugh at around 3-6 months. So give in to your sense of humour and keep smiling.Life is short anyway.5.Laughing too much may cause the following harmful results EXCEPT .A.heart stopB.diaphragm movementC.lung burstD.jaw dislocation6.The underlined phrase “doom and gloom” in Paragraph 2 probably means “”.A.hopeless B.funnyC.painful D.nervous7.How many calories can you use if you laugh for half a day?A.About 40.B.About 1,000.C.About 2,000.D.About 2,040.8.What is the author’s attitude towards laughing in the last paragraph?A.Uninterested.B.Disapproving.C.Worried.D.Favorable.Ⅱ.七选五(建议用时6′)(2016·安徽安庆慧德中学高三月考)Facing the Enemies WithinWe are not born with courage, but neither are we born with fear.Fears, even the most basic ones, can totally destroy our ambitions.Fear can destroy fortunes.Fear can destroy relationships.Fear,if left unchecked, can destroy our lives.Fear is one of the many enemies living inside us.9The first enemy we face is indecision(优柔寡断).Indecision is the thief of opportunity. 10 Take a sword to this enemy. The second enemy inside is doubt. 11 But you also can’t let doubt take over. Many people doubt the past, doubt the future, doubt each other, doubt the government, doubt the possibilities and doubt the opportunities.Worst of all, they doubt themselves.I’m telling you, doubt will destroy your life and your chances of success. It will empty both your bank account and your heart. 12Do battle with the enemy.Do battle with your fears. 13 Be courageous in your life and in your pursuit of the things you want and the person you want to become.A.Sure,there’s room for healthy doubt. You can’t believe everything.B.Build your courage to fight what’s holding you back, what’s keeping you from your goalsand dreams.C.Let me tell you about two of the other enemies we face from within.D.Below are the ways which might be useful for us to overcome our fears.E.Doubt is an enemy.Go after it.Get rid of it.F.It will steal your chances for a better future.G.Some people doubt everything.Ⅲ.短文改错(建议用时9′)(2016·甘肃天水三中高三检测)It’s reported that many people died from traffic accidents each year.Road safety has aroused the widely attention of the public. Many rules have made to reduce the traffic crashes, especially for the ones involved in the pedestrians. In my opinion,we should make road safety seriously in our daily life. While used the road,we must walk on the pavement and learn to protect us.Besides, car drivers should obey the traffic rules, that is both good for themselves and others. In the word, obeying the traffic rules are what all of us should pay attention to particularly. After all, life is not a small matter.答案解析Ⅰ.1.B[推理判断题。

Children should be left fortunes
Nowadays the gap between the rich and poor is increasingly giant. Thus, some people believe that children should not be left fortunes for the inequity of the society. Conversely, in my eyes, children should be left fortunes for the following chief reasons.
Fristly, it goes without saying that the reality is cruel. It’s quite hard for a girl to marry someone who don’t have a house or a car. For the majority of people , the house price is so high that you hardly can pay for it by yourself. Especially, for young man who just graduates form university. Meanwhile, you have to raise your children.Besides we should not negelect that the quality of life is directly influenced by your fortunes. Every should prepare for a rainy day. The future is unpredictable, and we have no idea about tomorrow. For instance, a car accident, a costly disease and so on. There is no denying that you will be extremely hard to go though it without fortunes. Finally, for numerous parents ,saving money for their children is their motivation to work hard. Once, they lose the purposes, they will have lost their significance to work hard. Namely, in China, I hold the view that it’s necessary to left fortunes to children. I believe something exists for its reseason.。
