Make repairs and complete projects on weekends or evenings, and it’s important that you give your man appreciation for those things too. Most man will take a little additional housework around the house if asked politely. They are even more likely to do housework if they choose what they want to do, and do it without being monitored.

Most Chinese people these days know what it is like to have an “English teacher”, since almost all pupils study English from their third year. Usually that first English teacher will be a young and lovely lady in primary school. But my first English teacher is no other than my father. Looking back, I can see that, when I was only a little girl, he created an English environment by providing me with flashcards(识字卡),fun English- language toys and even dolls which can sing English songs! with a helping hand. I am sure that my English would never have got so far without his support. And that’s why m y father is not only my first English teacher but also my lifelong teacher. He is the one who awoke my interest, who gave me confidence and who offered me much needed help.

M:Another piece of meat pie?
W:No, thanks, really. I’m on a diet.
M:Please do. You’ve hardly eaten anything.
W:It’s delicious,but l don’t think I ought to.
(Text 5)
M:Excuse me, do you know if this seat is taken?
W:I don’t think so. The fellow who was here finished his lunch and left.
(Text 6)
M:Hello,Maria.
W:Hello,Jack I heard that you went on a trip last month.
M:That's right.I was away for ten days, just to have a change.
W:Oh,ten days! How wonderful! Did you go alone or with your friends?
M:I was planning to go together with Jeff and Richard, but they both couldn’t make it in the end.W:What happened?
M:Jeff's mother was ill,so he had to stay home to take care of her.Richard got a new job and did n’t have any spare time.
W:I see.And what did you do with your dog while you were away?
M:Oh,he's a good traveler,as long as he gets a chance to play.

M:Hey, Ellen! How are you?
W:I’m fine, Bo b. Aren’t you glad that term is over?
M:Yes! Are you going to the rock concert Friday night?
W:I haven’t thought much about it. Are you?
M:Sure. Would you like to go with me?
W:Sounds like fun.
M:You’ll have to buy your own ticket, though.
W:Are you running out of money again? Let me treat you.
M:Wow! When did you get so much money?
W:You know, It’s a waitress at the Student Center. Anyway, now that final exams are almost over, I’d love a night out.
M:Since you’ve been so great about buying the tickets, why don’t take us out to dinner?
W:You’ve got a deal. Let’s buy the tickets now.

W:Did you watch television last night, Charles?
M:Yes, I did. Was there anything that interested you, Laura?
W:There was a good game. Did you see it?
M:Oh, I didn’t. I wanted to, but my wife preferred to see the o ld film.
W:What a pity! It was quite exciting. Both teams played very well.
M:How did it finish?
W:It finished in a draw. What was the film like?
M:It was quite good. But I missed the beginning of it because I had to eat first.
W:Did your wife enjoy it?
M:No, she didn’t. After half an hour she stopped watching and started to read a book.
M:Isn’t that far away?
W:Not really. If you take the No.3 bus, you can get there in ten minutes. And if volleyball doesn’t interest you, they’ve got a huge indoor swimming pool a weight room, and indoor tracks. It’s
a great place to meet people.
M:Now that you mentioned it, it would be nice to get away from the computer center for a change, and I really should get some more exercise. Working up a sweat in a ball game or the weight room would be nice. I’ve got so fat.
W:Look at me---You’re not the only one. In high school I had a lot more time to do sports activities. Now what little spare time you have must be used in doing exercise. At least the club is open until 12 p.m.
M:I guess it’s worth a visit. Did you say you’re going tomorrow night?
W:Yeah.
M:OK, I’ll come, too. How about meeting me in front of the cinema at eight, and we’ll catch the bus there.
W:Sure, see you then.
